We loved Cape Town when we went last year. A highlight was visiting Kalk Bay, a beautiful fishing village a short drive away from Cape Town. We also learnt to surf at Big Bay, Bloubergstrand which has amazing views of Table Mountain!
I’m going out of the country for the first time for my 30th birthday, and we decide on going to Cape Town. This video was very helpful! Great job! Thank you!
Woah, it's so weird to see my city through the eyes of tourists. Literally all the places you visited I've been and see regularly. It's very refreshing😄
Hey guys! I just wanted to write and say thank you for making this video. We just came back from Cape Town. Before we went, we watched this video and it was really helpful. We did several of the things you mentioned here! It was a life saver especially for my boyfriend, who is is vegetarian and loves Indian food...we went to the Eastern Food Bazaar 9 times while we were staying in CT, there aren't a lot of vegetarian options in CT so this was essential. We also went to the Cape Malay restaurant, it was awesome. It was part of our daily ritual! We wouldn't have known about it without this video. If there's anything I can say to those considering going to Cape Town, the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens are a MUST DO, it's the most beautiful garden I've ever been to.
Thank you very much! That is fantastic to hear. You know what? We're the same way. If we find places we like we'll go back time and again. The gardens are incredible. Cape Town is one of the most fascinating cities we've ever visited. I don't think we'll ever live there but it is a city we'd love to revisit as many times as possible.
I visited Cape Town many times, and always a highlight for me. Travelling by train from Johannesburg to Cape Town is great start to a Cape Town holiday
Great video guys :) I totally agree the pizza in South Africa is absolutely delicious! All the food is incredible there. Watching this seriously makes me miss my time in Cape Town 😭💔 Hubby and I recently spent over a month travelling around different parts of Africa and we completely fell in love with Cape Town, it's seriously so hard to imagine a more beautiful place in the world, it's perfection. We loved surfing there, climbing Lion's Head Mountain (The best place to watch a gorgeous sunset) and we miss seeing those cheeky, cute and very comical African Penguins on the beach. Cape Town is a place that once you have been there you will never forget it 🐧🌊🏄🌍
We live in Cape Town South Africa and we are so happy that you enjoyed yourself here! We always love it when people enjoy the things to do in our city. Its packed with activity. I would highly recommend coming in Mar- May for the Wine Harvest Festivals. There are also strawberry/ fruit, foraging, kite and tones of other festivals to do in Cape Town! Happy travelling.
It's really so cool to see people visit Cape Town and be equally interested in the sights and the histories. It's a beautiful part of the country with such a rich history, it would be a shame to come here and not take a dive into history, so thank you for highlighting some of that❤️
West coast National park, Oudtshoorn caves, Boomslang cave hike in False bay, Cheetah park in Somerset west. Aquarium in the waterfront. Seal island. Shark cage diving. Whale watching in Hermanus.
Just stumbled across your videos, I live in cape Town and absolutely enjoyed all the videos. You guys represented it so well. So now I know I can fully trust all your other videos, I can't wait until I have some time on my hands to watch some of your other worldly adventures. Well done guys!
"Says who? Says I, says the wife." Awww That couldn't be any cuter. For some reason I caught myself thinking that Cape Town makes a great honeymoon destination. Thanks to your gorgeous videos, I fell in love with the place.
Hahaha...thanks! Ah, we can be silly at times. I think it would be a great honeymoon destination especially if you added some time in the Cape Winelands (Stellenbosch) and explored Cape Peninsula as well.
As a Jo'burger I would recommend: Charlie's Bakery ; head out to Hout Bay for a trip to Seal Island. ( If you're lucky you'll see a Great White shark.) Blues is a great restaurant to try in Camps Bay; hire a bicycle and cycle along the SeaPoint promenade and you absolutely need to go to Kalk Bay too.
I usually just skip pass any content about CPT as it never reflects the the real deal. For some reason your blog popped up and I decided to give it a shot simply due to curiosity, and I'll be dammed!! You guys nailed it close to perfect. I'm from CPT and I work in the heart of the CBD just 2 traffic lights from the Bo Kaap. From a Capetonian I must say well done guys.
As a Capetonian, I must say you did an excellent job and picked great experiences and highlights! Shoutout from the South Peninsula side, glad you got to see Boulder"s beach and our side, "The Deep South".
Wowww!!! This city definitely goes on my lists of places to visit now!! And i forgot to tell you that i put you in my vlog. Vlog117 :). You all are right at the beginning! :). Hope you enjoy it!!! :)
You should visit Shimmy Beach Club. Amazing bar/restaurant next to the ocean, probably the best in Cape Town. Also Grand Africa café & Beach, a very popular spot for locals.
Thanks for portraying one of our most stunning cities in such an amazing way!! I'm from Johannesburg South Africa and I can honestly say that I fall in love with Cape Town every time I go there on holiday!! Was going to comment on the gatsby but I see many comments letting you know that it is meant to be shared...Lol. Great video!!
Hi, yep - Its called an AK up here in Johannesburg but many a Capetonian will argue that theirs is better :) Since watching the video, been busy planning my next trip to CT already and look forward to trying out some of the 30 things you mentioned that I have yet to try!! Keep well and keep traveling!!!
6:47 Raisins in Bobotie gives the sweet taste. Born and bred Cape Townian here now living in Scotland. After watchign this video, I'm homesick lol. So many memories.
Nice guys!! I'm a South African teaching English in Korea and I'm presenting this video to a student tomorrow as a lesson. I used to live in Cape Town. I really miss the place!! Well done!
Try Woodstock neighborhood, a hip part of town with fancy restaurants, graffiti and amazing craft breweries (drifter is my favourite). De waterkant neighborhood is also pretty, it's like bo-kaap, but a bit more fashionable (the blue mosque is very pretty). There are many rooftop bars aswell in that area, with pool and a view of Table mountain.
Hey Laura! Thank you very much! Oh my gosh, it has almost been 3 years since we graduated! Time sure does fly. Have you been back to Kingston recently?
Visit Groot Constantia for wine testing and try the Grand Constance, I bet you can't forget the taste of this wine. Groot Constantia is an old winery with museum which near to the Cape Town city.
Bobotie contains apricot jam, sugar and chutney. All of these add sweetness to it and since it does not contain a lot of currie, it will never be spicey. Love this dish and I make it all the time:D
Samuel and Audrey - Travel and Food Videos first we are going to Kruger park and after that we'll go go Addo park and then we're going to Capetown via the gardenroute 😊 so thanks for sharing your tips!!
You should try a fishing charter. If the time is right you can have some great fun catching yellowtail or tuna or even snoek. Just make sure you get the permits from the post office.

I just came across your channel, guys. A very enjoyable tour. I became so hungry watching your savor those different, exciting dishes. Just talked myself into visiting Cape Town. Good job.
With the seasons being reversed, I'll have to wait until December rolls around (a good time to escape from our terrible winter weather in NY), and plan on how long I would wish to stay in Cape Town.
I love this! I'm going to South Africa next month! Great tips! I can't wait to see Table Mountain, Robbin Island, etc I know it's winter there. Was it really cold or did it feel like early fall? Trying to get my packing list together.
Thank you! That is really cool to hear. You'll definitely want to bring some warmer clothes as I checked right now and they have highs of around 15-16 and lows of 9-10. It might be even colder when you arrive.
For any tourist who wants to visit bo-kaap: My little brother and I took and Uber from Kirstenboschs Botanical Garden (witch was very nice, totally recommend), to go there. There is to say, Cape Town is a city with lots of very poor people, so criminally is a real thing there. I didn’t knew that it was so bad tbh. I’m from Switzerland and really not used to areas like this. So we drove through the city and already had a bad feeling cause we were alone, (me 19, him 15) but it looked nice in the video and i wanted to take some nice pics there. Long story short. From the moment the uber left, we felt unsafe and not welcome. People immediately came to us asking for money and a strange group of guys was already giving us looks and were trying to talk to us. Not saying these people are bad, but we just knew we weren’t save. So we ordered an uber back. Its a rough place there, and yes, it totally is about skincolor, there’s nothing u can do about. Just think about it and stay save while traveling!🙌🏼

Thank you very much! That is awesome to hear. Cape Town is one of our favorite cities in the world and we'd love to encourage more people to visit :)
Do you need a car to get around or is there public transportation?
We ended up walking a lot, public buses seem decent and Uber is popular.
alteredillusions100 the public transport (aka taxis) are really unsafe, the drivers aren’t great, it’s best to order an Uber 😊
Amazing job on this vid of my home town!! Hope you visit us again soon!
