Debugging your android app on a physical device in 2021

Beautiful stuff.... NOTE: Make sure your cable can transfer data. After turning on dev mode/usb debugging, the second you plug your cable in you should get the 'Allow USB Debugging?' dialog message... if you dont I bet you cable doesnt transfer data

May be you have to check again the whole process. Make sure developer mode is activated on your phone and make sure debugging is activated when you plug your phone your PC

Hello, in this case, if the developer options is already activated on your device, then once you connect you android phone to your pc, you need to navigate to the Develper setting and activate debugging mode.

Hello MC Stassenko, It's true that sometimes your app crashes on your device without leaving any message in the logcat. I suggest you restart the app again making sure that the Logcat is in Verbose mode and the application selected is your application. I'm saying so because in some cases, the error message is displayed not in red and in this case you can see it when Verbose is selected in Logcat.

Hi, you can’t run an app on a phone without installing it. When you debug your app using a physical device, it install the app on your device and run the app.

Installation via USB is disabled.

Please, make sure USB debugging is enabled. Also, always check your device when android studio say "Install...". Some devices may still require the user to approve the installation. So you may see a promt on your device(if screen is active) for you to accept or reject installation.
