What should i be aiming for? •LSAT must be taken to get into law school, and you gotta do well. (Google when you're supposed to take that?) Take an LSAT prep course. You wanna go to a top law school if you can. I think you do this in college not highschool • put out law school applications in junior/senior year of COLLEGE (not highschool lol) and apply for even more scholarships (no debt plsss) • once you get into law school, its usually 3 years and you cant work the first year. The better you're doing, the more opportunities you will have. • network!! Get involved!!! You can join legal organizations, they look good on ur resume • you can get into clinics which is different from drafting contracts and things • when u graduate from law school, you need to pass the bar exam and do whatever other requirements your state requires in order to actually become a lawyer • the bar exam results can take a while and if you're lucky you can start a job while you're waiting • You get swarn in by a judge if you pass the bar and the other low pressure exam • now you're a licensed attorney! Wow that's a lot. Let's get started I suppose! I'll take AP Gov next schoolyear to help see if it's right for me. Can you go into law from a History degree? (Google). Take everything one step at a time you can do it!!!
Sorry can I ask how you know what your gpa is and like what is the minimum atar, like what if I get something in the 80s like I am really not sure what I want to do but beating a lawyer is interesting and I am thinking of a personal injury lawyer, but same time the bar sounds hard that’s what I heard like I am going through a process where I am stressing out rn like i finished year 11 and now i am y12 and still don’t know if I want to be a doctor or a lawyer but both seem hard but still it’s my dream to be one
@@sosojawish7856I was in your same exact situation. I just made up my final decision of wanting to become a lawyer earlier this October, but it was so hard because you can’t really do both at once. But I became a lawyer because of my FAMILY history, not mine I don’t have any legal history, but I have to say they are to me two of the biggest fields to be a part of because they both save people in many different ways. I’m currently a senior in high school and just got accepted into a college yesterday and am now applying for one of the top tear universities in the country of the U.S and I got to say I’m very nervous for what’s ahead of me, but I’m ready to go straight for it and concur every obstacle and hurdle that comes my way. Moral of the story is, you don’t have to decide right away, just meditate on it and think really hard about it because they are two strongly competitive fields and a lot of hard work is done in both. In my opinion nobody is better than nobody we are all are best individual selfs. Don’t stress on it to much, just sit by your self or with a trusted group and deeply think about it. Which one are you more passionate about on any extent and the most important thing is, WHY do you want to be a LAWYER or WHY do you want to be a DOCTOR? Don’t only do it for the money cause you won’t be successful in either one of money is the only reason why you do one or the other, you gonna actually have passion and reasoning for being within those two fields, but like I said don’t stress it, just sit and think about it, neither one will ever come over night, hard work and dedication is key.
im a junior in high school right now. I thought all my life until last year that i wanted to be a vetinarian, then last year i took my health science honors class and that class focused on cardiology and i really liked it and thought that that might be for me, but I just came to the realization that cardiology isn't what i truly wanted to do, the needles, blood, someone's literal life in my hands is pressure i wouldn't be able to handle. and i'm already a junior so i've had to do a lot of research into careers based on my interests, skills, etc. And forensic lawyer and criminal defense lawyer is what i'm most interested in, so im trying my hardest to gather information about colleges and what it takes to be a lawyer. And so far, i'm sure this is something i'm passionate about and this video has been really informative and helped ease my mind about the process of becoming a lawyer because i was and still am kinda lost because all my life i've been preparing myself for a whole different career path. Thank you so much for this video.
Thank you young lady♥️ You just explained exactly what I went through become a lawyer. Back in 1994 when I received my Bachelor's Degree (1994), Law Degree (1997), Master's Degree in Public Administration (2000), married with a family and no social media, just reading books and making it to the law library before your fellow students ripped out the pages after class. I could not have explained the process any better after going through it pre-internet. Character and fitness also included no late bills from your credit report and writing to every city and state police department you ever lived in for ANY and ALL police reports on yourself. (Some states). Thank you for taking me down memory lane and I know I don't have to feel guilty for retiring early. I am going to be a sophomore in college and decided to look into doing law. Very overwhelming but I feel like it’s for me. Time to get working on this stuff
Hi! I’m a rising high school senior who’s about to apply to college in a couple months. I am juggling between applying to a school that has an accelerated law program (3+3 BA/JD), or just a really good school for a regular undergrad degree. The benefit of accelerated programs is that they’re time and cost efficient. However, the only really prestigious school that I believe offers a 3+3 program is Columbia, and the program is extremely hard to get into. I know prestigie isn’t everything, but the future careers I’m interested in really lend themselves to having a lot of “prestige points” (ex. Supreme Court Clerk, Attorney for well-know public interest organizations). I do not really have the money to pay for an expensive college education, and will also not really be getting any financial aid due to my parents income. I don’t know if I should go to a prestigious school that will result in high student loans, or a less prestigious school that I would likely get a lot of money from (due to my competitive application). What would you say is the best course of action? I just recently found your account while doing research for college, and you’ve been extremely helpful so far. I would really appreciate your advice, or the advice or anyone else experienced in the field :)

Oh this the one!!! I been waiting for this type of video for the longest. Is there any advice if I want to transfer to a 4 year university after getting my associates at a community college?
There is other options and other routes and yes CC is a Great other option. Do the best you can in CC and transfer to a larger UNi. I didn't decide ti be a lawyer till after HS and I did TERRIBLE in HS. CC is a cheaper but viable option because if you do well enough you can get into a better Uni down the road ( my path + military ) as long as you show an upward path, you are golden.
Great information. How about if I wanted to change careers and get into law, like myself? What advise do you have for an untraditional person that is looking into changing careers while still working full time?
Idk what lawyer I want to be, an environmentalist, crime, I really don't know! I am only 13 but I still am worried because I don't know which one to be! What lawyer do u think I can be? I love debating and I LOVE drama, I am very confident, etc. Which lawyer am I? I don't know why I'm so stressed I just rlly wanna get good grades and get into law school and I don't know which lawyer I want to be! If I know, then I know what grades to study to be THAT person! Pls help me I don't know why I'm stressing even tho im only in grade 8! Sorry if I sound stupid and nonesencical but I really need help on which law I should study in the future.
ur so young and through time you will figure it out through your own interests. it’s not time to stress about this, not yet. and i’m sure you will know when it is time, (you have plenty) and you will figure it out! ❤ besides, i think she has a video on different types of lawyers, so you could go check that out!
Hi sorry for asking youre just the newest person whos commented. Do you know if freshman year grades are super important? I was struggling with my health so i got Cs and Bs and an A and im worried if that is going to impact me badly
@@Manako-re1tj hey, so I want to say I was a freshman during covid, my freshman grades were okay, I had maybe 2 A’s, 2 B’s, and 1 C’s…. I’m not 100% because it was 5 years ago but I do want to say freshman year grades are important but in this case you have gotten c’s, a’s, and b’s… and that’s okay… my sophomore I came to school late instead of the first day and had F’s which did affect my GPA… but I got my grades up so I had all A’s and probably one B the end of my sophomore year… my junior year and my senior year I maintained all A’s…. So long story short I’m going to give you this advice, Don’t settle for B’s try to maintain A’s in all your classes from now on since you slacked your freshman yr… if you can handle it, take AP classes, as AP courses increase your GPA… so if you have a A in a AP class, your GPA increases more from that A then it would if you had an A in a regular class…. If you feel you are not ready for AP, try honors class…. Either way it go try your best to maintain all A’s….. because speaking from personal experience even though I slacked my sophomore year I graduated with over a 4.0 GPA and was rank 5 out of 289 students in my class… so please believe in yourself, you got this, and much love!!
@@Manako-re1tj generally I’m saying you are going to have to go harder and keep your grades up from now on and you want to have a good gpa since you slacked in the beginning… it’s not too late for you I don’t want you to think that
@ so my gpa last year was a 2.813 and I have all A’s besides 2 Bs in my college classes which means i get an extra credit. Is that going to bring it up? Sorry i literally dont know how this works
Hii! I love your channel! I am considering law school and i wanted know if you have to have really good writing skils for law school? My writing is ok, could be better.
Bro same, I’m about to go to 8th in august but I’ve always thought about my future. Practically all my life I wanted to be a vet but these past 3 years I’ve wanted to be a lawyer or businesswoman 😅
Are Calstates good colleges to go to? I’m thinking of going to one and obviously I would get my GPA high and stay consistent with grades, but I was wondering if law schools will use a CalState as a determining factor in my application. Thank you!
I have always been battling about going to university or college. I don't know which will be better. Can u pls make a video talking about it.. it will really help
nothing really. just get into college first and major in something you find interesting. just be sure to practice hard for the lsat. but for high school some history classes would be nice.
i did international business but ended up dropping it because it had many math classes- i hate math. so i switched to what i wanted to major in in the first place- political science.
Hello, I’m a senior i high school and I’m looking forward to becoming a lawyer, however I don’t know what classes to register for when I do go to college. I’m look forward to going to Georgia State, so can you lead me in the right direction will picking my classes please?
Does this apply if I had amazing GPA in high school but that was in 2010? Will that matter now? And if I go with the local university and not some prestige absurdly expensive law school, is that okay? I'm honestly just hoping to make about 90-100k a year one day (plus inflation).
Thank you for very good information, I have a question that is college and university different or same? Because you mentioned to get into good college I heard that in uk college n uni is different but in us it’s the same? I’m confused with it even tho I search from google they don’t seems to understand me. Please help! 😊
heres the one thing im confused about. college and law school, they're confusing me because are they different? you go to both? and whats after? like how do you get the job, do you go to law firm? ahh!! its overwhelming
Im so confused too, im an international im my final school year and my family plan for me to study in USA but is it straight law school or college then law school 🤣
Unfortunately the pandemic didn’t cause for my grades to do good my sophomore year I’m currently watching this as a rising junior and I’m asking is it possible that I can still make it
when you get into the law school do you just study everything or must you already know what law must do like choosing a school subject ,or is it that people just like choose one area but study for all
Hey! I'm a rising junior in hs. I recently got an offer to intern at a small law firm over the summer. the schedule is 5 hours per day from mon-thurs. they are giving me $10 per day, I negotiated but they said that's the best they can do considering they're such a small/new firm. I know that I'll be doing work under a specific partner/founder of the firm, and I would be actively learning throughout the process. Do you think I should go considering the opportunity but also the $10 per day pay??????
I know I’m late, but 10 dollars an hour is really good for a junior thats 16 or 17. (I guess it depends on where you live) Also you have to think like you are investing in your future, because that is exactly what you are doing when you take internships, and a lot of internships don’t pay.
Can you go to community college for bachelors and still be able to go to top law school? Would it only depend on grades or also where you got your bachelor’s from?
Does the highschool you go to play a big factor into getting into college and law school. Like if I go to an art school would that lower my chance if my grades are still high?
I'm becoming a lawyer because it a secure career and plus I like listening to crime cases and what to help my people and victims that are part of #metoo bc same But truthfully I would love to just pursue art because it makes me happy, I fear beocig a lawyer because their life is on my hands
im in 10th grade and i get decent grades (80s- 90s) if for elevenths and twelfth grade I work really hard and get all ninety's, will that be a good look grades wise?
Hello. I have a question. I'm still doing my IGCSE exam but I don't have idea to do AL exam. I just planed to do a course and then I wanted to apply for a university in Italy. Is my way okay or do I have to do AL exam??
Hello. I'm 32 years old i have 3 kids 1 that is only 5 months old. I really want to try to pursue a degree in law. I looked at paralegal studies first but then i realized i wont be able to address the court. Also i'm a felon. Realistically, do you think i could be come a lawyer, if i worked my ass off do you think its something i can pursue? or should I just stick to paralegal studies or legal secretary... I'm lost...I believe i have a passion for this I know it will be hard i just want to be realistic I'd want to be a lawyer by the time I am 40. im pretty sure you would need to take the BAR exam again for that state since each state has different laws or policies
A VIDEO ON A THURSDAY ?????!!!!! I LOVE IT HERE 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
💕💕💕💕 hey girl hey
Oh this the one!!! I been waiting for this type of video for the longest. Is there any advice if I want to transfer to a 4 year university after getting my associates at a community college?
Just get the best grades you can to get into the 4 year!
Get grants, fundraisers, stay focused, get A's, 💪💯🙏🏽bless up
Thank you so much . This is very informative.
Thank you so much for these videos! Hoping to get into either Chicago or UCB soon!!

College Freshman Here
Hi sorry for asking youre just the newest person whos commented. Do you know if freshman year grades are super important? I was struggling with my health so i got Cs and Bs and an A and im worried if that is going to impact me badly
Highschool freshmen
Im in eighth grade trying to go into Law and I got no idea what to do 😭 ty for the video I kinda understand now
Just me in grade 7 watching this wanting to have a good Career
Bro same, I’m about to go to 8th in august but I’ve always thought about my future. Practically all my life I wanted to be a vet but these past 3 years I’ve wanted to be a lawyer or businesswoman 😅

Ma'am please tell us about the procedure for a corporate lawyer I mean what kind of curricular activities I should get myself into
I'm a junior, but I hope this helps!
Are Calstates good colleges to go to? I’m thinking of going to one and obviously I would get my GPA high and stay consistent with grades, but I was wondering if law schools will use a CalState as a determining factor in my application. Thank you!
Me in 8th grade: taking intense notes
I have always been battling about going to university or college. I don't know which will be better. Can u pls make a video talking about it.. it will really help
Please tell me which subjects you need to take in Grade 11 and 12 and also in college in order to become a lawyer.
Thank you
nothing really. just get into college first and major in something you find interesting. just be sure to practice hard for the lsat. but for high school some history classes would be nice.
Me still in middle school watching videos nd trying to to be successful
Thank you sis !
What major would be the best to choose if you want to work with business law?
i did international business but ended up dropping it because it had many math classes- i hate math. so i switched to what i wanted to major in in the first place- political science.
Hello, I’m a senior i high school and I’m looking forward to becoming a lawyer, however I don’t know what classes to register for when I do go to college. I’m look forward to going to Georgia State, so can you lead me in the right direction will picking my classes please?
Same here co22
I don’t know if you covered this but what was you major and minor in college? Thanks for the amazing videos
I was a communication studies major and psychology minor
Do you take the lsat in high school or in university so is it like
High school > University > Law school
Or
High school > Law school
Also how do u get the swearing in ceremony like do u have to set it up urself or does someone set the ceremony for u when becoming a lawyer
@@orbitexe1624 It's college first, then law school
I will watch an hour long video
Can you make a video on how to become a patent lawyer?? :D if lOOoVe that
Unfortunately the pandemic didn’t cause for my grades to do good my sophomore year I’m currently watching this as a rising junior and I’m asking is it possible that I can still make it
In high school or college?
@@lenabob2671 currently highschool
For me I didn’t failed but could’ve done a lot more my freshman year

Any advice for adults trying to go back to school and become a lawyer
What are the major citerias to be an international lawyer?
What if you need to start at a community college? And been arrested but have no convictions?
when you get into the law school do you just study everything or must you already know what law must do like choosing a school subject ,or is it that people just like choose one area but study for all
10 dollars per day or 10 dollars an hour?
Can you go to community college for bachelors and still be able to go to top law school? Would it only depend on grades or also where you got your bachelor’s from?
Please help me understand, why do you have to take the "BAR EXAM" twice, considering that you had passed it the first time?
The lawschool application video...
Does the highschool you go to play a big factor into getting into college and law school. Like if I go to an art school would that lower my chance if my grades are still high?
I'm becoming a lawyer because it a secure career and plus I like listening to crime cases and what to help my people and victims that are part of #metoo bc same
But truthfully I would love to just pursue art because it makes me happy, I fear beocig a lawyer because their life is on my hands
I just finished my esol and my teacher said that i need to study business in college so could u tell what to do plz I really need it ???
im in 10th grade and i get decent grades (80s- 90s) if for elevenths and twelfth grade I work really hard and get all ninety's, will that be a good look grades wise?
If you have a felony, does that disqualify you automatically?

I put my dreams on hold for my children...its time for this mama to have a career and be happy
You can do it!
do you have to be good at math to go anywhere near law school or lawyer? Ive always struggled with math and worried about not being good enough.
I think it matters what major you go for
