Totally works, even still. You won't win every time, but about nine times out of ten when you get the first turn, you'll win using this. It's kinda slow going, but it's the fastest way to earn MGP I've come across yet...

If both sides of the numbers add up to the same number they captures all possible sides. Combo is basically with same and plus, anything capturable outside that area that isn't red turns blue for you. So the more cards around area the higher the combo. Triple Triad was a staple in FFVIII hence why he assumes you know the rules if you're a FF fan.
Sadly this doesnt work anymore :( NPC almost always goes bottom right when it starts, and if you try to set up an Ixal spot it will instantly block it.
This just doesn't work for me, either he fucks me up with Urianger first pick in right corner or he keeps making it a draw everytime. I capture like 2-3 cards with my plus then he just takes them back with a much higher card or pluses me back.

You notice how he plays. n even come up with your own counters for the times he doesnt follow the meta. pretty easy if you can think a turn or two ahead n not b pressured by the time limit.
I can safely say that this trick doesn't work anymore simply because the AI is somehow able to learn from it's mistakes and counter your strategy. Like if I play Dodo on the bottom right, it'll play Godbert somewhere else entirely
I just played 2 straight hours with this deck and won 5 games. I understand how plus works but the dude always blocks me. Can you better explain how he plays? You said you know how he plays but not the Diamonds guy. He almost always plays Godbert in the "bad" slot for me, like 8 out of 10 times. When he plays it in the "good" spot he blocks the top right corner most of the time. Maybe they changed his AI in 3.0?

I hate Elmer. I've beaten him to go from 200 MGP to over 5000 and have won nothing but 5 of the Goldbert cards. Maybe a 60% win rate. It's really the times when he starts first that screws me over.
why did this mess with this? its near impossible to win now lol..he never does what hes supposed to do..so annoying..you get to go first 1 time out of every 20 or so plays and then when you do get to finally go first.he does the exact opposite of what he does in this video lol

They changed the algorithm, it's much more difficult to win if you go second.

how come this NPC has 2 five star cards yet if i have one 3 star card and two 2 star cards the deck cant be used?
