I have been commuting on ELOPS 500 for almost two years now. The decision on buying one was geared strictly by the budget. The cheapest decent new bike in our local market.
The ride is smooth, all the components are dependable. Had to change the seatpost and the saddle to be able to adjust the angle. The pedals for the alloys. This bike is a good choice if no steep hills on the commute route. I have a very steep last mile, so I walk that part. But then again, I have been able to conquer that hill only with a heavily geared hybrid bike.
It rides like a charm on a level ground, 25 km/h average easily achieved.

The Elops 500 has a flip flop hub. Switch it into fixed gear mode and you will be able to brake immediately and fly up hills.

With my elops500 the last 2 trips was about 84 km (with some climbs in which I never put my feet on the ground) and about 60 km (40 on paved road / 20 on dirty road), it runs fast and smoothly with gravel tyres, I'm very happy with it !!! (Warning: don't use it to climb the Everest !)

4:28 Not the lightest bike you've been on but by far the lightest of the 3, and I mean half the weight of the other 2.
What an absolute weird thing to say first.

Can I change the tire to be 32c instead of 45c?
45c is too heavy and not giving me speed.
Can I change the size on the same original rim?

Hello! I'm changing for a question not on the topic of sale, have you changed the axles on the bushings ?I noticed the other day during the season the rear axle was worn out, why bulk, and not the prom was originally installed, the seatpost was immediately changed, the steel pin turned out to be heavy,I ordered home delivery, collected

Nottingham city council has invested millions on their cycling infrastructure, have they?
I've seen no evidence of that but that's typical of them.

This is so wrong. Those two "experienced" ladies would pick a cheap chinese bike with a chinese derailleur as a daily commuter. The climb test using a single speed on some really hardcore hill - why? The test on a smooth road - what? The test on gravel - why? There is almost everything wrong with this review. It just is.

Biased test… to promote raleigh home brand. Me on the single speed can easily crush that hill.

@@zardozal8239 depends on the type of commuter. im with you on the nicer bike side of things. undoubtedly why the raleigh wins. Due to being a much better quality bike.
however. if you dont have far to go and not got a safe place to lock your bike up then the cheap bike would do the trick. who would want to steal an indi?
Bike theft is pretty huge in the UK especially in the places where you would actually commute with a bike.
