The use of the first train card in the 5th episode is a perfect representation of the United States train system
thats so real
Horses were technically used before trains
Even if the US had a high speed rail system its unlikely they would have used it till now cause like nobody lives west of the rockies and east of the cascades and sierra nevadas apart from a handful of cities.
@@robertking8862and feet were used before that
@@robertking8862yo i didn’t think of that. That’s crazy
That cut right after Sam said “colonialism is” is absolutely golden

"I would pay you any amount of Sam's money" Ben and Adams are TOO real

There’s just an impressive amount of strangers becoming involved in the show this season and I absolutely love it.
I love how organic challenges like the horse challenge are, and not so set up like on a reality show from televison. People like to help people.
It honestly makes the show that much more special!!😊
My favourite part of travelling is how much strangers enjoy helping you. Maybe it’s the accent or that you have a bag but you don’t need to explain yourself either.
“Milwaukee sucks”
“We simply must do a milk walkie”
I love the editing on these videos. Genius
They were literally right outside a DAIRY queen too
Milwaukee's airport actually sucks tho. Very little direct flight options and it's not cheap. Most people around Milwaukee just fly out of Chicago.
I love how Ben and Adam keep proving that rules don‘t apply to you as long as you have a good story
they're winning this season with pure charisma checks
(not a spoiler, haven't seen the finale, just very confident)
Good story plus politeness and humbleness. If they had come in raging and pushing really hard to get stuff, they wouldn't have gotten as much as they did.
like when they did the knighting in front of a random house with stone optics? because that was't castle marne
@@jurgnobs1308that definitely was Castle Marne
@@simplyepic3258 lol i googled castle marne because that thing was DEFINITELY not a castle, and it showed me very different pictures. turns out there is a real castle called castle marne, but it's in italy.
the american castle marne is just an average townhouse wirh stone optics.
It's kinda fun with a season without GPS trackers.
Surprised a gps tracker company haven't thought of hitting them up for some more precise ones
They are kinda OP but it really makes the train juking that Ben pulled off last season that much more impressive
@@0Clewi0 imo the trackers shouldn't be precise in most cases. In one of the 2 tag seasons they could literally see what streed the runner was going down and catch him because of that, which I think makes it less compelling. So personally, I would prefer to just have tracker that shows a rough location. In games where you would be able to pay to have a tracker on they deffo should be accurate (such as with the race for the most states), but I don't think super accurate trackers will work for every type of game.
@@0Clewi0 Yeah, until the tracker doesn't work so well when they're inside a larger transport hub and the tracker company gets a bad rep from people who don't know that GPS just don't work so well in such places.
Unfortunately, it means no Adam disguises.
I just love that Ben and Adam choose to do the honk challenge on a road that has barely any traffic
And still won
That's still at the airport; plenty of cars coming through and they didn't have to go anywhere.

Idk, they didn't say it 30 times
Best. Nebula. Ad. Yet.
Yeah, I think so. Good guess though
I think this was the first ad read I watched all the way through so their strategy is working :)
The subtitle people went all-out with the subtitles there.
One of the most creative uses of the subtitles ever.
“Flop it up” followed by the dancing is my favourite moment of this series 👯♂️
Especially since Sam and Michelle have so much stress at the same moment and Ben and Adam have zero clue
Adam walking with a cup of milk on his head in a crowded airport is hilarious to me
Shoutout to the dudes who walked in the door behind them looking at them like “wtf” and the boys just saying “don’t mind us, we just have to do a milk walkie!”
Funny enough I was there the day they did this and saw them and didn't realize it was Ben and Adam and just thought it was some crackhead tiktok thing and stayed as far away as I could 😂😂😂

It did clear up by my takeoff but the weather was a little rainy earlier so rain (and you know how roads in the Denver metro are with rain because "300 days of sunshine" Bs), someone walking with a cup on their head and someone filming, and just the "lovely" construction traffic of red eye fighters at DIA shows enough of why I wanted to stay a 39 and a half foot pole away from them
Adam eating that slice of pizza in the airport and not doing a "Snack Zone" episode is a war crime.
lmaooooo it would have been so funny, i'm picturing "(snack zone intro) sam paid $12 for this pizza (snack zone outro)"
gotta love the $12 dia pizza
same with airport food before the drunk mile!
The fact that the steals didn’t show up in the flop despite ben&adam doing challenges all day, only for it to show up just as sam&michelle are ready for it , is so incredibly lucky / unlucky. It might just have been the turning point of the season
I love them speaking about cities. "No one has ever been this excited to go to Dallas". "Milwaukee sucks"
All the excitement I've had for dallas is waiting to go to my real destination, at least it's a nice airport to burn time
Dallas is nice, especially Dealey Plaza. Nice historical landmarks, like the grassy knoll, the Book Depository, Great stuff.

You guys should totally do a similar kind of race from the northernmost point of Europe to the southernmost point! Or a race from Reykjavik to Athens; either would be fun to watch.
The northernmost point is probably Mehamn in Norway.( I know bc I’ve been there)
@@ritaliu8101
Mehamn is in Norwey, not in Finland. But I do agree that it would be nice to see a race in Northen Europe, like turning Scandinavia into a game board. Another one that would be interesting is Asia or Africa.
Isn't the southernmost point of Europe is in Gibraltar? Which pretty easy to get from Reykyavik via London and Madrid, I think
imagine like. north russia to south africa
Longyearbyen to Tenerife feels surprisingly similar to Utqiagvik to Key West
I don't know if y'all take ideas from the comments... but since it's an election year, you could do a jet lag season about winning the electoral college... if you complete a challenge in a state, you get their electoral votes (so basically like the connect 4 season, but with electoral votes). Bonus points if you source challenges from residents of the various states.
Could be cool.
dont think they do that... just whatever they want, this idea has been around forever
They've said in the podcast that they actively don't look at viewer suggestions for reasons having to do with ownership of ideas being potentially legally messy

"Where can I watch the finale?"
For everyone asking, I did a little research. At the outro, if you listen very carefully, you can hear that the hidden code. I'm only about 20% sure of this, but I think there is a chance that the finale is up right now on Nebula. Just a hunch though.

ben and adam's pure happiness when they got to ride a horse and got a car to honk is awesome
Ben singing "Flop It Up" to the Rolling Stones and dancing like Mick Jagger has already made my day.
Gotta love Ben and Adam insisting on a proper sword in the spirit of the game; Sam would have straightened his arm and said "this counts as a sword" 😂
Nah, even Sam would have found a "thing" to be a sword. No one would buy part of his body as a sword. How good a makeshift sword they'd have found is speculation though (and Michelle would totally give him rap if it wasn't "good enough" imo)
Because the stick they used was proper right? Why do People not understand that both do alot of rulebending which both agree with like they said multiple times
because sam was dumb in season 2 and decided that the way he transported a cup of water was viable.
I'm really liking the free rides within a city and incentive to use multi model transportation, at least for a challenge in the US. Makes it more interesting
Sam two episodes ago: We will probably not make a montage in this store, they are too pricy to cut.
Adam this episode: Cut to footage proving Ben has bad balance. 😂
I say money well spent.
He meant pricey in terms of time since they are in a race.
@@mr_mad_scientist no he said it takes a long time to edit and cut in sync with the music. in this case it wasn't a montage it was just a throwback
Yeah, and, if that one was worth it, I'd like a montage of Adam telling people whose help he desperately needs, "we're doing something stupid, sorry about that".
I'm glad Ben and Adam know themselves to be two good boys.
I just love seeing Adam being so aware of how silly what they're doing is
Architecture historian here for some nerdy context - the "castle" house where they knighted is a style that was popular in America in the 1880s-90s called Romanesque Revival, and it was modeled after the religious architecture of early medieval Europe. Evolutionarily, the original Romanesque architecture was in the middle between ancient Roman and medieval Gothic. One of the most well-known architects of the revival was Henry Hobson Richardson who designed many civic buildings in New England in the style
As a Spaniard who lives in a village with its own real medieval castle, I found the "castle" in the episode to be more makeshift than the "sword" 😅
BTW, does anybody now where can I watch the finale right now?
The finale is up, right now, on Nebula!😂
I guess many things in america (continent) are called castles by their architects more than anything, I know a small one next to the ocean but wouldn't call the side to tge street fortified.
The finale is up right now on Nebula 😂
yeah not a castle, not even something that was one once
I expected them to find a bouncy castle, they did better than that.
"No one has ever been this excited about going to Dallas" made me very happy as a Houstonian
What's your opinion on Fort Worth?
@@wta1518dallas
I love that the stable people not only let you get a little ride, but a proper one too! They could've so easily turned you away but instead they chose to show another two people how amazing the view is from up there, and from how you talked about the horses later, I can tell you genuinely enjoyed it ☺ I think that everyone should experience horse riding at least once in their life and it makes me happy to see others spreading the love. I hope they get at least a few more clients thanks to your shoutout.
really loving the amount of dancing that Ben and Adam are doing in this episode
I have to say, I think this was my favourite Nebula ad so far 😂
Sam's team: "OH MY GOD I'M FREAKING OUT WE'RE SO SCREWED IF THIS CARD COMES UP I'M GONNA BARF OH MY GOD"
Ben and Adam: *while dancing* "Flop it up! Floppin when you floppin when you're head stops! Ch ch ch, ch ch ch! Flop it-"
The fact that the finale is up right now on Nebula makes me think that Sam and Michelle probably don't get the steal, and are probably scrambling to stop Ben and Adam's meticulous itinerary
It's possible, but both teams are nearing the end, no?
I'd imagine that both teams can get into Florida in two flights, so either Sam and Michelle don't get the steal and Ben and Adam execute their plan, or Sam and Michelle get the steal and their execute their own plan, which wasn't stated, but they said they think it's better then getting to New Orleans this evening. Either way the winning team would probably get to Florida relatively quick, so that there wouldn't be need for another video.
The episodes are always a week ahead on nebula
@@tomrogue13i don‘t think that was their point, more likely that they meant the fact that the next episode is the finale could mean that the closer team, aka ben & adam, wins and don’t get their plan destroyed.I guess i‘ll know next week haha
@@pavelherinek9048they can't really use the 1000 mile flight sp it would be just buying time. The 450 mile flight would be allot superior.

Ben and Adam dancing in a field after horseback riding wasn't on my list for 2024 but it should've been.

I can picture it now. "Cursed: you have contracted dysentery. If you fail to make it to a hospital within 60 minutes, you cannot progress in the game until after the next rest period."
The "two good boys on two good boys" killed me💀
as a Southeast WI native, the easiest way to make them honk would've been "honk if you hate the Bears"
Bears or Cubs, yeah. But most people in general hate Chicago, so it works out
or, “HONK IF YOU LOVE ‘MERICA 🇺🇸🦅”
Discarding the 600 miles small aircraft is 👀 probably useful for the regular game strategy, but if they ever wanted to do their final legs in Florida, a lot of small craft fly to Key West. I wonder if this is gonna bite them later
I actually can't deal with the suspense of these videos. I ran home from school today to watch it the second it came out. I am already looking forward to my race home next Wednesday to see THE FINALE!!! You got this Ben & Adam!!!
But, the finale is up right now, on Nebula.
I'll say it again, you shouldn't be allowed to discard a card without some sort of punishment. You shouldn't be able to just do a bunch of challenges, discarding whatever card come up, to find a steal, without there being a punishment for doing so. The steal cards are too powerful for there to be no punishment for grinding for them.
The punishment is that as soon as one pops up, the other team can get it, and then all of your effort was for nothing.
This would lead to a less entertaining show, though. It's good that the rules incentivize players to attempt new challenges as often as possible imo
It gives a rather balanced comeback mechanism, I would say
Agreed. I honestly think a game cap like 3-5 total discards per team could work. Allows them to still toss tickets, but they're forced to weigh it up more and more each time.
Another option is to randomise the cards. Right now the teams know what cards are in the deck each day, so a team planning to grind can purposely base themselves near suitable spots for their target card. If the challenges on the cards were randomised though, it would remove much of the incentive and create risk as they'd have no idea if the challenge required would even be doable in their location.
@@madmangohan They explained this in The Layover. Which tickets are even able to be used varies a lot depending on where in the country you are. For example, on Day 1, when you're stuck in Alaska... you basically need to have a long flight ticket in order to get to the lower 48. So having a different deck each day was done so that players would have what they need relative to where they are in the country. Or, at least, where they ought to be. They did admit that if Julie hadn't let Ben and Adam board that flight from Anchorage to Seattle on Day 2... then the game would have broken, as they would have had no easy way to get to the lower 48 states for the rest of the game. In playtesting, they never had a team fail to make it out of Alaska by Day 2, so they were unprepared when that became a very real possibility.
Love the work that went into the captions for the last 30 seconds of the video
Not to spoil the end of this (#nebula subscriber) but to spoil Jet Lag Season 9, they're coming to Switzerland baby!!!!!! Welcome to my country guys, I can't wait to see this season, it's gonna be the best without a shadow of a doubt!!!!
totally agree! i'm soo hyped about the switzerland season
That was the greatest ending sequence I’ve seen so far from the show.
Sam: Manifest Destiny is awesome - Michelle: UHHHHHHHHH
Manifest Destiny _is_ awesome, but Seward's Folly-which wasn't a part of the traditional meaning of Manifest Destiny-is what allowed them to do the full breadth of this season. The 5,515-mile distance as the crow flies from Attu Island, Alaska to Tea Table Key, Florida is the longest distance I could find between any two points in any country (excluding overseas territories) in the world.
@dominicpancella3012 Yeah, I don't think the issue with manifest destiny was the distance. It's moreso the "God says we can kill all the natives we want and steal their land" part of it that seems a little less awesome. Imagine thinking "I can excuse genocide and colonization but I draw the line at Alaska."
