I'm AuDHD and this sounds heavily like what would happen if I tried to run a business needing timing and administration overhead. For me at least it would be utter hell. I hope I'm wrong actually but whatever the issue is, it sounds like he needs help.
That is honestly what I think is happening, I never got any malicious vibes from Thomas or anything like that, I genuinely think he is probably a good dude who has made some mistakes which is why I structured the video the way I did. I think if he worked behind the scenes and he hired a few people to do customer service that the majority of these issues would disappear and he would be a much happier man as well.
At least you got your knife back. I have a buddy that has waited over a year and still doesn’t have his back yet. I had one done by him earlier on and after he showed me a picture of it being done it still took him a month to send it. Just as you said the work was done great. Just not a good customer experience
Yeah after mine was finished it took another 6 weeks for him to rebuild it which is a bit ridiculous. The worst part about it all though is that he does really damn good work, like the man is genuinely incredibly talented but he just lies and procrastinates to no end in regards to everything. I do hope your friend gets his knife back though and that he is also happy with the finished result when he does. It's unfortunate that someone so talented also has to be so incredibly unprofessional.
Haha. I’m laughing only because I’ve dealt with him and it was a cluster. And my buddy has had a really bad experience with him. And I’ve talked to others.
Yeah my buddy Alex had a pretty horrible experience but someone I deeply respect vouched for him so I decided to take the risk, it was an absolute cluster fuck but I am happy with the finished results as stated in the video and now I have been sent screen shots of Thomas telling other people the exact same thing literally word for word that he told me, almost like it was copy and pasted which is just ugly and needed to be addressed.

TK took a stock Praetorian TI Tanto and Did a MEFP On both scales. Vulcanized my blade/breaker. Then Anodized my entire knife Green. Customizing takes time. If you're impatient, that's a You Problem, NOT A TK Problem.
Wrong. When he’s had peoples knives and money for over a year and keeps lying about them being in the mail that’s a him problem. And being so disorganized that when you get a knife back that it’s done wrong that’s a him problem. And when he tells you he can do something and then admits that he didn’t do the work he took credit for that’s a him problem
See this is the kind of mental gymnastics that empower people like TK. If you reach out to a maker and ask how long something is going to take and for example they say it will take one month, but then 6 months later it's still not done, that isn't a "YOU" problem that's a MAKER problem. Now let's reference one of the stories I mentioned in the video, but in more detail. They reached out and asked how long something would take and were told "A few weeks" however it has now been 11 months and he was "next in line" August of last year. Another person was also told they were "next in line" around the same time, also someone posted on edc go or no go at a similar time frame of them also being "next in line" that post is now deleted because mental gymnasts like you chose to attack that man for something that was very much the issue of the maker and not the individual. But here is my favorite story, in July of last year TK told someone "it's all done and will be shipped on Monday" but it's now March of the next year and that man still hasn't shipped the knife which is "done" none of these things are the problem of the consumer, they are 100% the problem of the maker. The moment someone takes money for a service it becomes a business and there are very strick rules in business, don't over promise, don't under deliver and don't move beyond your means. Tk has done all of these things and that's the reason this video was made and if you finish the video you will see that it explores both sides.

Or talk to Alex Chivas or any of the other dozens of people who have had an issue with how that man does business. Spoiler alert, he does the exact same thing to everyone, some people are just okay with being lied too or they lack the spine to stand up for themselves. 👀 And if you don't want to do that research that's a "YOU" problem baby boo.
