Thank you for all the work you put into these for us.. for the perfect amount of sarcastic snark for the monsters and the respect and dignity for their victims.. The effort these videos take is immense and it’s appreciated.. thank you Jiles..
Yes!!! Content that sensationalizes these stories like a tabloid leave such an awful taste. This guy does a great job at showing reverence and respect while also appropriately taking these monsters to task.
Stephen King wrote a character like this in his story “Apt Pupil”; the character used to do the exact same thing where he would sit on a hill and watch cars through his sniper scope and pretend to shoot but one day he eventually did so and went on a spree and beforehand often had killed animals, I wonder if it’s just coincidence or maybe Thomas had inspiration 💭
I highly doubt it. People like this kill because it makes them feel powerful and they simply enjoy the act of taking someone's life, not because they heard or read about it and think it sounds fun. He imagined himself to be some strong, powerful, influential person who was basically above everyone- a sociopath with delusions of grandeur. In fact, I'd bet that he never read Different Seasons, or much of anything at all as far as literature. Especially fiction. He'd be busy "writing" his own story, which would of course star himself. He would always be the main character- anyone else who existed around him, including his wife and kids, would likely only matter in how he related to and interacted with them. He would see it as a waste of time to spend his time reading what someone else imagined and wrote because it would never be as good as his own story/life in his mind.
Love your videos!!! I’ve watched almost all of them. You really crack me up when you throw in your little jabs at these monsters. Keep it up, your voice helps me sleep during the day because I work at night at a hospital. 👍Thanks from MS, USA!
I watched this case on the FBI case files, if he wasn't caught, Thomas Dillion would have easily carried on killing even more innocent victims, the man's a psychopath with no absolute remorse, l remember watching an scene of him going to court, smirking, it made my blood boil...RIP to all his victims🙁
@Corey-gg7pv a lot of times when English isn't someone's first language, they say "an" rather than "a." I don't know if that's the case for the commenter here, but just something to think about ☺️
Well done on another excellent video. The detail you give is second to none. Plus, your voice is very calming, Giles. Thank you - You've definitely got one of the best channels out there.
I haven't watched in a little while. I was shocked to see your face! You looked like I envisioned. You're always researching and have done great work. Thanks for that hard work to present us with these stories. Some of the older cases that can lead to no new leads, they get forgotten. I believe the renewed investigations can truly help. People who know something, please say something. It can lead to a real lead. Thanks again for your hard work. We appreciate it.
11:16 "never provided detectives a satisfying answer". "He said he killed bc he wanted to" That is the answer, doesn't matter if detectives feel a sense of satisfaction or not. They don't think like a killer so may just not understand a real answer when they hear it.
Yep. Some people are what they are and do what they do "just because." Plenty of people do horrible things without any reasons or motivations beyond simply wanting to do so. They put no more thought into it than they do into choosing which soda to get from the vending machine. That might frustrate people who want to find some deep cause that helps it make sense to themselves, but there's not always any sense to be found and especially not when the perp is mentally screwed up.
Exactly, some people just do evil deeds because they can. There's no deeper reason or meaning. There's no "trauma" or deep pathological reason that they're trying to deal with, which causes them to kill others. Some people just do evil deeds because they want to. Not everything is extremely deep or a mystery wrapped in an enigma. I guess that can frustrate some people because they've been conditioned by TV shows like criminal minds or whatever other crime dramas are on TV to believe that all criminals like this guy have some deep backstory and trauma or psychological problem that caused them to kill. Or that every killer is some sort of complex psychological puzzle that needs to be solved with terms like "narcissism"/"psychopathy"/"sociopathy"/etc.
Thank you, Jiles, for the brilliant narration you always do. As far as Thomas Dylan is concerned, he is an “effing” monster……. And a dead one for sure.
