I don't know why these crack and press videos stress me out. Logically, I totally get it. But I'm convinced I'd figure out how to get a lower grade regardless of pressing.
I performed CPR on the 8.5 SW 1 I won in one of your giveaways. Mainly because I wanted in a modern case. Came back a 9.0. A wash in terms of value, but it presents so much better in the new case.
Thank you for doing that video. I have a raw copy of Ultimate Fallout 4, I have been staring at it for a few years and I swear it’s a 9.8. However I’m no expert and I’m afraid it will come back a 9.2 or 9.4. This video does help a lot. Thanks Bry!
I´m from Denmark, so resending something back to CGC would be expensive shipping and a huge gamble. I have recently shipped one but not to have its grade re-evaluated, but to be re-cased, eventhough i realise that it could end up recieving a worse grade (In this case I dont think so though). The reason why I send it, is because its case is scratched up so bad, that I just couldn´t enjoy looking at it. On top of that, the current case is a CBCS case, which normally doesn´t bother me much, but getting a CGC is in the end better for the final value, so thats why I did it. Thx for all the great content Bry, enjoy it alot.
ive found this possible when holding the books in hand, but have had a MUCH harder time when trying to evaluate ebay pics. definitely doable, but so so rough to be sure,
I had bought a raw ASM 252 newsstand on mycomicshop and they graded it a 7.5. It had a massive stacking roll top to bottom of the back spine, but not much else. I cleaned/pressed it a few times, submitted it and it came back a 9.6! I was thrilled. But after examining it later I realized it still had a few minor pressable defects. I debated resubmitting it then but decided to wait. Earlier this year CGC had a dual signature event with Tom Defalco and Ron Frenz and I knew I had to CPR the book. Still waiting to get it back but I’m super hopeful it’s a 9.8 newsstand! 🤞🏻
I've had amazing success CPR slabs. For a client I CPR a Wolverine Limited Series 8.0 to a 9.6. For myself I got an Ultimate Spiderman #1 9.0 in an old case for $90, CPR it to a 9.8 and sold it for $250.00. These are just two examples of many.
great video. i have a signed ASM 9.6, which has a small non-color break crease on the cover (presumably from when the book was signed). is CPR possible on a signed book?
Great vid Bry but lots of questions ! Been thinking of doing this for a while for a select few comics . How do you go about it ? seriously , Im guessing a hammer and chisel isnt the way to open these things ? Heard that rule of thumb is that if you get old label slabs you have potentially more success for a grade bump ? Is it worth cracking and pressing myself or getting someone else to do it ? What about sending to CGC to get them to do it , which would get better results bearing in mind you cant see what CGC do to the comic. I am based In England so getting someone local to do my pressing and cleaning then send on to the USA for slabbing , is the same distance wise as getting someone in the USA to clean and press then send on to CGC . Is there a high level USA based clean and presser that you could recommend that is taking on new clients ? Any and all info would be greatly appreciated . Thanks my friend.
I’ve spent so much time pouring over my slabs, debating whether or not I could get a higher grade. Is it worth the time and energy? Maybe if the market improves.
I like that idea, would you recommend this to a seller that has made some funds to invest in this technique?. It would take a little spending to make the cash back including that nice residual. Thank you
I have an X-factor 6 i bought at cgc 6.0 but after close inspection online and in person i beileve it could get an 8.0-8.5. Just havent taken the plunge
show of hands. So who all keeps cracking and re-submitting low pop comics for grading just to artificially drive the pop count up? I know some of y'all be doing this mess. stop it! 🤣
What’s the incentive to spend money to drive the value of your low pop book down? Or are you saying people don’t realize this is what they are actually doing?
I've pressed lots of books but haven't yet been brave enough to break open a slab and work on it. Thanks for the tips.

lol yeah it can be very stressful!
Just started collecting and love it!
good video, bro. very good info for anyone who wants to this kind of thing.
Super informative, thank you for all of the examples!
Really interesting to learn about pressing, will definitely be going back to view previous vids on that.
Thanks for another informative video.
Thanks for the video. I have to sharpen my comic pressing skills to take advantage of this information. Keep grinding bro!✌️
Thanks for the info Bry!

Thanks for the back to school lesson -pretty interesting

Great video Bry! My ASM 51 is a candidate but still watching the prices to see if it makes sense.

Best of luck with the grade my friend!
Awesome video!
You always give great info I always learn something new each time thanks and keep them coming
Interesting to see the finer points of CPR. I keep an eye out for candidates but they're tough to find out in the wild
I've got a small stack of books that I would like to have pressed and graded but I don't know where to even start......
Great video as usual Man!!😁
ive found this possible when holding the books in hand, but have had a MUCH harder time when trying to evaluate ebay pics. definitely doable, but so so rough to be sure,
Since you cracked that FF already might as well send it my way to add to my run....
Only just began acquiring some slabs (two from you, thx) and really appreciate fresh content on these topics.
Well you ain't getting any grade bumps for those 😂
@poing333 Thanks, Captain Obvious is a favorite of mine!
Good luck on anybody that takes a risk 👏
thanks for some great advice Bry the video was very informative.
Cool insight man! Thanks for sharing!
Awesome examples. Thanks 🤘
Tempted now to crack a few of my slabs to try and get a better grade. Thanks Bry.
Pretty cool. I wish I had a better eye for that
Nice CPR video Bry.
Nice little bumpski if it gets a 9.6. Hope to see an updated grade

Cool story bro, please let here know what you will get
Great info to know, Thanks!
Always appreciate your videos and your opinions on how to have fun in this comic flipping community
I can't wait to start some CPR!
Great advice!
I’m going to check out your site now
I’m sure I’ll crack and resubmit at some point so when I eventually do, I’m gonna crack the hell out of that slab lol

👏
I did it once and it came back a 9.8. Totally worth pressing
killing it, bro
Prepping a CPR submission currently 🤞🏼
Great information. Was thinking about cracking open a 9.6 tht I know should b a 9.8
Great video.
Great explanation for cracking, pressing and resubmit
The more I know the better it is when I start to send my own off.
Please do a follow up on that FF #89 to drive home your point when you get it back.
Great video
You have some great books in your store
Sounds like a plan. Thanks Brys💯👍🏾
great info
Another fantastic video Bry!!!!
I use to own Amazing Spider-Man #150 as a young kid. Brings back the memeories.
Great vid
Excellent video; good advice. Thank you.
Great information and video thanks Bry
very cool!
Thx for another great video! I’m always curious about if I could CPR a book?
I have a few that can probably be cracked pressed and regraded
I gotta regrade
I had to stop grading when the times were over a year to get graded
nice vid
I have a 5th print TMNT #1 9.6 I've been thinking about cracking. But it's Ow/W pages. Not sure if it would be worth it.
Certainly a risk but that's kind of fun!
So my plan of buying high and selling low is going as planned, but I am losing a lot of $. Any thoughts or tips for this approach
I'd like to know the outcome of this resubmission.

What is your take on performing CPR on comics not initially graded by CGC (CBCS, PGX, etc.) and then submitting them to CGC?

How would you either CPR books yourself or submit it to someone to CPR?
Metal ball link please? 🙏
What happened to the guy who bought the universal hulk 181, and you said it didn't have a value stamp. What is your biggest regret for cpr
So, did you just place the FF into a warm press or did you add humidity to it?
Anyone know what the "metal ball at the end of a stick" that he's talking about is?
I think they are called caulking tools
@@BrysComics Thank you. I never knew something like this even existed.
I am curious what did that FF book come back as after you CPR the book
I still haven’t taken it out of the press lol
