    Hello, good material, I just have a question about a script I wrote for several spreadsheets, I would like a script to be executed depending on the record in appsheet with a button... Do you think it's possible? Thank you

    • @googleworkspacedevs
      @googleworkspacedevs  Год назад +1

      Currently, you can choose the following triggers within AppSheet to run an Apps Script: data change, schedule and chat (slash command). Having a button in AppSheet as a trigger is currently not available.

    Hi, this function is only available for appsheet core plan right?

    • @googleworkspacedevs
      @googleworkspacedevs  Год назад

      You can test the Apps Script tasks in AppSheet with the free plan.
      If you want to deploy an app using Apps Script tasks you will need the Core plan or higher. about.appsheet.com/pricing/

    your videos .... madame Chanel No 1 are the best tutorial videos ( i think webwide 😊 ). Meanwhile i have no problems to acess data ( these are spreadsheets ) via appscript. One serious problem with handling data via sheets is a time problem. i think spreadsheets are not the best way to store data, it takes to much tasktime. My question now: can i work with appscript, if the data is stored in an appsheet database ? and then, how to do it ( same way as with sheets ? )

    • @googleworkspacedevs
      @googleworkspacedevs  4 месяца назад

      You can call Apps Script from an automation in AppSheet for many different use cases. For this, the data source does not necessarily have to be Google Sheets.
      Note, that you do not have the option of making changes directly to AppSheet database the way you can with Sheets.
      See the options you have for using Apps Script with AppSheet: support.google.com/appsheet/answer/11997142?hl=en&ref_topic=11997049&sjid=15986310939094142599-EU

      @@googleworkspacedevs Thanks a lot 💐for your quick answer ... madame. I expected this answer ( with a little hope for an other solution ) from now on the situation is very problematic for me. appsheet is a nice tool, but has its limit. ( e.g. if you use the pdf output of an bot, you may declare headers and footers for the pdf file, but this does not work ). therefore i had to make a docs template with header and footer ... and with appscript i fill in the data, and after the filling in the script generates the pdf file. the original bot created pdf i got in at about 5 seconds. the process with appscript takes 30 seconds. and so on and so on.
      This is only 1 case, where i habe to use appscript.
      I worked nearly 40 years in IT, but i never ever had problems like these. crazy ....
      Please forgive my bad english, in my whole life i had no issue to use it.
      you helped me a lot with your videos ... ❤️

    Hi. I'm trying to add a function to a simple app I created. I have a google sheet file with two tables one is called "patients" and the second one is called "dates". in the "dates" table the patients are schedule appointments weekly or every 10 days by inputing the next appointment date in a cell titled "next appointment date" after each visit. In the "patient" table there is also a cell titled "next appointment date". I want the cell in the patient table to automatically get the "next appointment date" from the input in the "dates" table., How can I do this?

      Have a look at the SELECT() method: support.google.com/appsheet/answer/10108207?hl=en

      @@googleworkspacedevs Hi! Thank you for the info. I tried the method suggested and I was able to add a row to the desired table, but I don't want to add a new row or column to the table I want the input from a cell in on table to be the input of the cell in other table and I want it to be done automatically. If you have other documentations that I can read I'm happy to do so or if you have an example that you can provide I'll really appreciate it. Thanks again for your help.

      Sounds like you are looking for a mail merge where you have rows of email addresses in Google Sheets and need to send them email messages.

    This is great video and I tried and pertially workd. Two issues are
    1. For some reason, two same folders were created
    2. Folder URL has some error. GAS script does not show color chaged for ${newFolderId}?usp=share_link.
    How can I fix the errors above. I appreciate your support.

      Issue 2 might mean that there is a typo in the script. This might also be causing issue 1.

      Thank you for the reply.
      I figured it out to get these issues resolved by asking a friend of mine who knows GAS.
      #1, I set trigger condition as Ads only with other condition. Those two triggered the automation twice. I only use AddOnly as the trigger, then it resolved.
      #2 issue was obviously that script on the RUclips was not correct. I changed rerun value to url + constant value. Then it is working now😊
