It took a certain kind of spirit and personality to really get and appreciate 'The little Aussie bleeder' Norman Gunston, and Boy George didn't quite have it. Took it all and himself a little too seriously. One of the few Americans celebs who did get it, and one of this best ever interviews, was Sally Struthers, she found him utterly hilarious!
Yeah he did. You can't fool the British , the inventors of wit. Boy George wasn't having any of it so Norman's humor fell flat. In desperation , he became offensive and asked if George was a poofter 😒
There 'secret' of these interviews, is that the interviewee was 'warned' beforehand that Gunston was a character. The credit is that they (George) were able to play-along. Good on them.
Not really that early....this was well after his ABC series had ended and before his ill fated return on Seven. I'm not sure he was at his usual Norman best here.....but he still had the 'awkward' down pat.
lol, George certainly didn't get the humour there. I think he would of got him today, doesn't seem so up himself now. Wasn't one of Norman's best interviews but Boy George's pensiveness did not make it easy for him at all.
George not understanding Norman had nothing to do with him being “up himself”. Normans style isn’t for everyone. Certain celebrities prefer normal interviews. But I do agree George would react differently now
That’s just your theory. George could’ve been playing along for all we know. But in all fairness majority of celebrity interviews aren’t like this. Ppl like Norman isn’t for everyone. Maybe George never met him before and didn’t know he was just acting. I was just as confused as George until I googled Norman. So does that mean I was too serious too? It’s all about familiarity
You don’t know that. I think George was just playing along we’ll never know. Just because you’re familiar with Norman doesn’t mean George was at the time. If George knew he was an actor, he would’ve reacted differently. As far as “not taking a joke”, we literally have no right to tell others how to feel

Boy George looked to be taking himself a bit too seriously for a Norman Gunston interview. Pretty funny ending tho!
I agree.
How would he know what a Norman Gunston was?! Dude is trying too hard.
@@MatthewCyUK exactly!
In all fairness ppl like Norman isn’t for everyone
@@lessismore8533 in fairness Norman is more my cup of tea than Boy George .
Boy George had no idea old Norman was taking the piss.
Yeah he did. You can't fool the British , the inventors of wit.

Yes, I agree that BG knew what Norman was doing all along long. I don’t know why BG called Norman the plaster man.
George is like Lindsay Lohan the way he smirks at his mates all through the interview.
It's weird.. I expected a pom to have a sense of humour.. He's taking him at face value and poor Gary is just having a joke with him.
This still gets me cracking up.

Imagine getting off a 30 hour flight to this
When Norman mentioned blackheads George knew he was totally out of his depth
"Are you a poofter?!"
I long for the days of Political INcorrectness! ...
There was no ill intent... it was just humour.
Rubbish !
Your blind if you can't tell it was said in desperation
Totally owned by Gunston
lol incorrect. Gunstoj isn’t for everyone. I was just as confused as George until I googled Gunston and found out who he was and what his purpose was
I think George was playing along tho
ok
A bit too in your face and personal in Norman's snide attempts at humour there. Very awkward
I've body guarded boy George.
Hes a funny bloke.
Really? When were you his body guard?
did he tell you that his great grandfather was a welterweight world boxing champion from what i recall ?
When was he funny?
Not to that poor young lad he kidnapped, imprisoned and raped though.

YOU HANDLED THIS BEAUTIFUL GEORGE..xx💕
Whaddya mean? George was a conceited prick!
What do you mean handled beautifully? This is a comedian doing a comedic interview, women these days....
Calling him a poofta...love it. Aussie way...givem shit👍😀🦘
yeah , racist red neck through and through 😅👍
Does this shit pass for humour down under?
That's why you don't live down under. we don't like shits like you. have a nice day and ciao for now
George was too serious and trying to out smart Norm. Just not happening here. Norm was always one step ahead.

He was the most unfunny person ever, and that robot reporter laughing at the end, proves it.
He is unfunny, but then he's only a singer. Norman was hilarious , as usual...
Na.. I love NG... But the comeback was never on the level of his first outing.
Doesn't get it. Not funny. Boy George could not take a joke.

I hate that Norman Gunston, hes a jerk.
" Boy" George is his stage name.
but are ya?
Could not look more girly if they tried.
At least Norman has short hair lol
