I had the chance to work with this group at large city event. They were so cool and easy to talk to. During warm up the audio engineer played this tune, the bassist kept playing for some time they are far better than re recognized. i will always remember this act unlike bands I worked with had major attitudes yt did not have the success of this act. I see why they are they are. Talent and still humble as can be.
In an age when lies are the norm and facts don't matter, these guys are a reminder that something is real. Talent, the results of practice, enthusiasm and a commitment to excellence are all on display here. Folks can play or they can't. These guys can play.
Watching these guys play is like watching what you wished your favorite college bar band became. Wait, I guess that's true. Anyway. BHTM fits like my favorite shoes.
I have heard you sing this song, many many times it’s in my playlist, but I also love it because I can see how much fun and how great you are singing someone else’s material you make it your own. Hope to see you playing it at some concerts. It would be nice if they were in Florida. I guess I better get on Big Head Todd And The Monsters and check your 2324 tour guide remember I keep on telling you guys you got to come to Tampa or Clearwater. We’ve got a great venue in Clearwater that would be perfect for you guys.
@@MatthewRamsey-id hi Todd, please look into Ruth Eckert hall in Clearwater Florida. It’s a Great venue the acoustics are beautiful there’s not a bad Seat in the building. Happy New Year.
I just had to listen once more, and hey look everybody its Eric Clapton or is it? Hard to tell this is prefect from the guitar to Todd's vocal just blows the mind talent pure talent. An amazing aact that needs more radio airplay.
I'm totally embarrassed to admit that I never even HEARD of this guy prior to this last week. I've been without the luxury of having access to music or tv last 2 years and NO NOT JAIL LOL Still what is my excuse for the years prior? regardless, this guy is AMAZING AND plays that guitar effortlessly as well as sing and flows with his lyrics. He nailed it bc HE is singing and not trying to sound like Clapton. AMEN .
Google User they’ve been around for 30 yrs. It’s ok they have their following and we keep them going. Who needs mainstream these days. It’s all bs anyway.
WOW!!! Just leaned of these guys this week when I was looking for live versions of Life of Illusion. Thought he crushed that, if you close your eyes you'd think it IS Joe Walsh. Which led me to their Bruce cover of Rosalita with J Popper, thought he id a great job there too!!! When I saw you tube recommend this, I thought, eh, might be too ambitious to ty to cover Clapton. Only person I've ever seen or felt could cover Clapton is John Mayer, but you guys do own this song...freakin' awesome!!!!!! Much respect fellas!!!!!!! ...WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@@TheDizzleHawke the neck itself is essentially the same either way. The headstock (the part up at the end with the tuners) is reversed. It looks kinda cool and evocative of Hendrix playing a right handed instrument, left handed. On a normal Stratocaster style guitar, the bass strings have the shortest run fron the tuner to the nut (the piece at the end of the neck, before the headstock), and it gets longer as you move through the treble strings. Some players feel that by reversing this (as on Hendrix’ flipped guitar, or Todd’s normal guitar with a flipped headstock) it changes the tension on the strings and helps give a slightly slinkier feel to the strings and perhaps it gets a little closer to some of the magic of Hendrix’ tone. I have two Telecaster type guitars, one with a reversed headstock and one standard. There is a difference in the tension on the strings. Not night and day, perhaps mid-afternoon to early evening, but there is a difference in feel. Leads feel and sound just little slinkier on the one with the reversed headstock. Rhythms seem a little punchier on the normal one. Otherwise, the woods, strings and pickups are pretty much identical. I hope this helps.
They played it and sang it like they wrote it! They owned it, period!
Only a select few can do that. Remarkable.
WOW.
One of the most underrated guitarist ever!
For real there!!!
Oh no I certainly don’t under rate his guitar playing.
I had no idea how well Todd can play. He is among a small group of artists who can take a song and make it their own.
Amen to all
Absolutely agree
Can we say these guys are the best value for the ticket in rock today? Exhibit A right here.
Amen

They were on their bus after a gig and just out of the blue they invited me on the bus to hang and gave me some swag etc.
Super Great Humans.
@@verticaldude I agree completely. success hasn't spoiled them/

That big ol Injun has more talent in his pinky finger than most of the big name acts these days.
Tim Sharpe he’s Korean.

Holy crap, he out-Claptioned Clapton. I never thought it was possible.
with and upside down guitar neck.
Allen Jones yeah. What’s up with that neck?

I can't believe I never heard of this band until today! Awesome x 20!
That's a good band right there!
Randy Irvan 30 yrs they’ve germ right here. Overlooked and underrated.
Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughan's kid.
And possibly Robert Cray’s first cousin.
Forever man..
❤❤❤
How in the hell can that crowd sit at a Todd show????? Stunned!!
They stood when Todd suddenly hit them with that cold ending and they realized they just had their faces melted off.
How the hell indeed!
Damn! I have no words
BHTM is the best band around period. 19 shows so far and I'm going to see them again shortly
Damn, they are really great. Tons of talent.
Rock and Roll!
Going strong after 34 years!!!
He would even sound good to country music!!!
DAMN THIS IS AWESOME.
A rare and a very impressive cover!
Nice to meet you....
Love U GUYS...
love music❤👌
this is cool
Damn.
You killed it ....man oh man .💥👍
Brilliant!
Brilliant sings like Clapton'
Ah. That’s what that song is supposed to sound like. The crowd looks fried and blown away. Lucky bastards.
I instantly became a fan
That was off the charts cool......
There aren't many bands that could do a cover damn near as good as Eric Clapton's original
Ki
Better than Eric and Eric is great.
Great stratsound.
LOVE this band!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sounds just like Clapton on this cover!
Absolutely stunning performance. Hands down better than Clapton. Period.
Rusty Green Agree...
Bartender, time to cut Rusty off, he is saying stupid shit....
Howard White ..ha!!!
Great !!!
EC is def clapping for BHTM!!!!
is that a left hand neck on a right hand guitar? that is bad ass!!
IT's a Benedict guitar. Blonde Hendrix Style Reverse Headstock. Todd uses mostly Benedict guitars. They have a unique sound. At least in his hands.
Wow... These guys fuckin ROCK!
Rock On Todd!
Sorry Todd, you will never be Jimmy or Eric. You don't nee to, you are BigHeadTod and that fucking matters Brother!
Come back to South Carolina, Windjammer wintertime, luv u guys good time
Holy crap! Todd is channeling Clapton, and Clapton isn't dead.
Great band be safe out there guys
Cannot believe the lack of comments here. I love and respect Clapton but Todd puts Eric's version to shame. Not many artists can pull that off.
acehays .... while they did a great version ... no ... not Clapton ....
@@davidm1252 That's cool, just glad to see this performance from one of my fave bands is still being seen after it was posted 11 years ago.
