  • The Norden Hay Accumulator system uses gravity and a simple mechanical system to efficiently arrange small square bales into a group.
Unlike other bale accumulators, it uses no hydraulics, electronics, or chains. Using excess energy from the baler plunger, the bales are pushed up and out the top of the chute. As the bales slide down the accumulator bed, the last bale in each row swings a gate to open the next row. The last bale in the group opens the back gate. As the accumulator unloads itself, springs and counterweights automatically return all of the gates back to their starting position, ready for the next bale.

My only concern is the back pressure made on the bales going up the shoot. We are currently using hay baskets that also travel up a shoot and drop into the basket. We are baling with a NH575 with the tension backed all the way off bales still come out on the heavier side.

You may need to take some wedges out of your chamber. Two things different from the basket to the accumulator. The accumulator isn't as high as most baskets and it never gives a chance to push piled up bales as a basket does. Under normal operation, the Kuhns accumulator can allow for a very light bale. If you make a 50 lb bale with or without an accumulator, the plunger pressure is exactly the same.

@@gkuhns I removed all the wedges except the very front ones which I heard need to stay in.

@@gkuhns I talked with you earlier this year about sponsoring our farm channel we will be at the Kentucky farm show next month maybe we can work out a deal. Our farm channel is WT Farm Girl Videos. So I am trying to decide between your af10 and the tubeline 8+2.

We love ours but that stainless steel on the accumulator is ours we took and built stainless steel one day in our shop so it’s the slide because were big in straw sent a video with it in action and they stole our idea

Why don't you just buy a kick baler and some wagons ?

Bale kicker is hard on bales, you have a jumbled mess in the wagon, they will need to be hand stacked, you can't get as much on a trailer with a kicker. How's that?
