People don’t understand that preamp modeling plugins are amazing when you work with clients that are doing their own work with cheap sterile pres in entry level interfaces. Glad to be a Patreon supporter! You guys rock
Thanks guys! Great review! (Not just because the verdict was a good one) I have a special relation to Ridvan (yes, he is Turkish) because I've been a customer since he started his plugin company - back then with plugins to pay for. I totally fell in love with his Filtek emulation, which was free. The plugins had some issues but the potential was already there. To see his skill developement is awesome. He went from 🤔 to 😮🎉,👏 within a couple of years.
Analog Obsession does some fantastic work. Glad to see you guys taking a look. The dev behind AO really knows his stuff, and being just a one man team, he releases plugins (AND updates to existing plugins too) at a rate proper plugin manufacturers would be proud of.
Finally, the AO review. Thanks, guys. The one that I use most frequently would be Comper, which is a serial compressor with 3 different circuits (Opto/VCA/ FET) in both compressors. It's insanely unique and can be used creatively in so many different ways. I mostly use the FET > Opto combination on the vocals and the FET > VCA one on the drum bus.
He‘s updating all the plugins to be Apple Silicon AAX, which is already done for many plugins. I‘m a huge fan of the British channel combo plugin Channev. As soon as I use it in one of my dialogue mixes I‘ll buy a years worth of Patreon support. Channev has two saturation types, a deesser, an equalizer, comp and limiter. Sounds great. Better than supporting Waves in any case.
I use Analog Obsession STEQ, FETISH, and KONSOL on almost every mix, a lot of AO plugins are really good. He does update them as well

Tunka knows his compressors! The only bad things are updates where sessions can be set off with plugins id being changed after updates and can mess up sessions Lots of redundancies but Fuck it
You really should try the Channev plugin from Analog Obsession. It's literally these three plugin in one, plus a de-esser and tape saturator. If I had to give up all plugin except for one, including high end paid plugins, Channev is the one I'd pick to keep.
I know you plan to do more, I compared oner of his it against the Softube Tubetech (which is obviously different) and used plugin docter just to check my ears were not bullSHITting me and RareSE really stacks up well for a Pultec style EQ. Support is important but look at Waves! It was only by a good push they revoked their bad move.
I just don't get why most reviewers grab that Brit bundle for their reviews. I my opinion there are other plugins from AO that are way more impressive. TUBA for instance is a superb saturator, TUPRE is a wonderful colour box, FETISH is a really good FET compressor... I don't care if they are perfect replicas, they are just good sounding plugins and each has its own flavour.
Really love the TREQ by AO, it's a Trident EQ emulation. Even better than the one by Trident. Trident Audio Development plugins have 7 days trials. Let's see if you can find its fault. 😉
I don't think it would be an understatement to say that Analog Obsession are the overall favourite free/donationware plugin maker industry wide. I'd second the recommendation elsewhere in the thread to look at COMPER, that's one of the most innovative compressors available. Other highlights are CHANNEV, LOVEND, FRANKCS and LOADED/LOADES

I love this channel. Thank you guys!
I really like their Varimoon compressor, as well as their LALA. Those are very nice.

yeah bit similar to the Shadow Hills in its design
@@StudioLife101 Comper is really good quite unique because you can run the different compression types individually or at the same time
I own hundreds of expensive plugins but analog obsession is legendarily good .

Calm down Johannes...we were asked to review this....we've got more AO reviews ready to go soon...we're doing our best mate! 👍 😂
@@StudioLife101 Very good. I'm calm :-) I just raised one eyebrow. Looked in the mirror. Found out, I'm not as skilled as Dan. 😀

LALA is the one I go for for vocals every time. I tried other (more expensive) plugins, but I end up using LALA anyway.
We'll have a look. 👍
I recently started using it, when I heard what it did to my vocals ,I was amazed but also mad at myself for not discovering it earlier

I just realized I'll be able to watch it live...3pm here
At last!!!! We want to know what you think about this free stuff
Good so my ears still have the mojo!...I'm not old yet!
About shitting time!!! 🎉
Upside....NO DRM!! I think that is the best part ...using my cpu for actual processing.
Cool!
Did Fibonacci sponsor Dan's shirt this episode?
Guilty as charged
Bonjour Fräulein
Blatantly the comp is emulating a 2254 bruv. Innit.
Yep...blatantly...👍 😂 Shame they didn't make it look like the e version....
its an emulation of a 2264x, not the 33609
