Awesome Work Man! Really interested in the results. Crazy to see Debian up so high! I think it's great to be honest. Debian is very underrated in a lot of areas in Linux. I'm running NixOS, and it's also awesome to see it do so well.
Wow 4 hours. Kudos to you sir! BTW I want to ask an off-topic question. From your testing, which linux distros have the least RAM usage? I'm using pop os right now. But personally I feel like it consumes even more RAM than Windows 11...
This is something I will consider for my next video and will come back to you, I wasn’t focusing on it so hadn’t taken any notes. However, on Linux you do have the option to try out different desktop environments because different ones have different system usage and if it is for you window managers use very little system resources.
better lables on the video would be nice. scrubbing through it all just looks like the same footage over and over again. putting a water mark on it saying what distro you're running and if its native or proton would be nice as well as stating if its dx10, 11, 12, or vulkan (considering proton can run all of those)
Why did Linux mint underperform with RT on? Completely new to Linux here, I thought mint was just unbuntu but different looking (to put It crudely). Actually why is RT performance worse in general when the RT off was higher in some cases? (Compared to windows 11)
It is down to the kernel differences which I should have included in the video. Linux Mint uses the long term release version of Ubuntu. Different distributions ship with different kernels, as I am on AMD the graphics drivers are included so the newer the kernel the newer the drivers which can mean better RT performance.
is there some issue with shaders/shadows on cyberpunk? the windows benchmarks look fine, but from what i can tell, for every distro, there's errors with the shadows disappearing EDIT: my mistake, just noticed this is only with RT enabled, guessing there's just some issues with RT and Linux?
I haven’t looked too much into this issue yet and now have an idea of what I want to look at next. I am wondering if it is to do with upscaling or the drivers.
Windows is a memory hungry operation system , you should run the test with mid range hardware to show a difference, with your current setup you don't even need an OS to run games bro ...

Amazing video ! Great in-depth benchmarks !
Based. This kind of extensive testing deserves more praise.
Thank you for the hard work.

Impressive, thank you!

@ I’m hoping steam os is amazing in the future and Nvidia supports it.
Windows installer when not done via media creation tool from Microsoft has that issue with some boards.
No Idea why thought
Thank you for this information, I wish I knew it earlier haha
The video is too long for me but I love Linux gaming.
Garuda Cyberpunk RT off timestamp is off by an hour
Damn, I thought I had all that down. I have fixed it now. Thank you.
Where do you even find open source drivers for Windows?
Yeah, I was meaning for Linux. Windows drivers were from their update service.

Yeah I've seen the issue with RT too. So basically his results for Cyberpunk RT are invalidated and pountles until it's fixed

No 1% lows? Averages mean nothing if your 1% lows suck.

Elden ring?
It runs great on Linux
this is such a pointles video you should have just made in small chunks and have summary
add some video chapters. ain't nobody got time for that.
I currently have the information in the description but will look into chapters.
They're in the description
rude for no reason
