Laying around after knee surgery watching all of the earlier videos again. It’s crazy how much crap you find working on old trucks. Lol and the things you say.. priceless! Keep up the great work! Episode 19, cabover ride never gets old.
Thanks Casey hope the knee heals up quick!
Thank you so much for bringing back memories I retired in March of 21 at 73 years old and back in the day I pulled swing made with 40 ft trailer with exact truck that you got only mine was white and you got that motor that B12 sound in Choice that's how mine sounded back-in-the-day hey man you rock you rock thank you it was all music to my ears you keep it up keep it up God bless you
Who doesn't like the passenger's side low mirror window? Really nice to see it running and driving!
New favorite video!
Listen to the noise!
What music!
You have got that V-12 tuned to perfection!!! She is a runner!!! Thanks for sharing!!!!
Awesome to see it running down the road
Glad to see you got it back on the road. I’m sure it makes all of the work seem worth it for a few minutes.
What drive down memory lane for me. Most drivers to day would not be able to handle an old truck like this for 10 hours a day you worked for your money back then trucks were a hand full back then.
You are doing a great job with this truck keep up the good work.
Thanx for the ride WAYNE ,, Memory Lane for sure for me from the passenger side camera , when your wife would pan over to you I was seeing my DAD ,, AWESOME 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Love it . Was well worth the wait you bastard. LOL my crappy little speakers pissed me off tossed them out the door and broke in my new sound bar with sweet Deadrod Diesel music. Now I have to go out and take my old Pete 362 with a 3406 Cat for a cruise no noise just black smoke when I stomp it .
I see it dosen't have power steering..lol I see ya struggling...my dad had a international transstar back in the day..it didn't have it Ethier or air ride cab...I was little but I remember I always wondered why his arms were so big..lol. he used to call it Armstrong steering and if we got to hot roll the windows down ..no a/c...he called that polish air conditioning...I laughed my ass off...im so glad my truck has all the goodies. You had to be a REAL MAN back in thoes days.. thank goodness things got better over the years
It does but it was inop for this ride.
Looks awesome! Glad you got it out to stretch it's legs!
Good to see another old Peterbilt back on the road again....
Love the sound of a Buzz’en Dozen going down the road.
Until you find a nice replacement steering wheel you might want to get some of that two part puddy epoxy and fill in some of those big cracks in the wheel. Nothing hurts worse or takes longer than dislocating or breaking a finger when it gets caught in a steering wheel.
I always wondered why do steering wheels crack like that in places.
Me too! I think the sun shrinks the plastic.
@@Ol2Stroker ooh that's how it happens I always wondered on older rigs why there's huge cracks like someone's been hacking away at it with an ax now I understand why they put thoes steering wheel covers on the wheels
Awesome..... dome shelters are a good option for cheap cover, just put one up. My sh1t is now dry. Massive difference. Huge effort on this, good to see it rolling. Cheers from NZ
Awesome. Boy I can see those arms getting bigger bye the turn there driv'ah
Ha ha ha..ARMSTRONG STEERING
Raise that seat a little more
Man she's one bad ass truck when she's all done you are going to have 2 awesome Peterbilts.
It sounds great. And you definitely got further than on the first drive. Keep up the good work.
Great to see the cab over running down the road she's a ripper. Love the exhaust note too. Looking forward to the next video. 😀
Bro…. I am so happy you got that beast on the road. She’s been fighting you tooth and nail but you are just about there.Looks like you get past a few electrical gremlins and new terminals you will be golden!
Stop jumping out of the cabover. Your knees and back will tell you what a bad idea that is. Sounds great and it looks to ride fairly well. Great stuff. Appreciate the Saturday morning entertainment while loading in Omaha. Looking forward to the next one. BTW Adjust that clutch break Gump.
Mouse nest in the clutch so no fixing that easily. Knees and back are already fucked. Lol
The sweet smell of roasting nut shells and mouse shit. Truck runs beautifully clean.
Those 12 cylinders sound smooth and scream power!
So stoked for ya! Badass piece of iron right there. I might not truck but definitely appreciate seeing you keep it from rotten away! Super large Peter car sings.
love hearing that Detroit scream! nothing else like it.
Good to see you again buddy that pete sounds awesome good luck take care love that pete
Awesome to see it back on the road again and enjoy all the vidja you share
Ricky's dad Ray would be proud of ya.
Sounds absolutely bitchin! Rack is set perfect rings looks solid (very little cheech). Hell of job Wayne. 👍🏻
It's so much fun when you finally get to DRIVE it. As they say...when hours invested become miles enjoyed!
Great first trip.
Super cool drive! Congrats 👍👏
Wow, brings back many memories, of the old manual steering trucks back in the day! Now imagine backing a reefer trailer into the docks at Hunts Point, or or the South Side Market in Chicago with 40K in the box after being up for 2 to 3 days coming in from the coast! You were styling if you had "center point" steering!
The buzzing dozen is running/sounding great! Think how she will sound with a load on her! The one thing no one thinks about on these old cabin overs, is all the motor heat/dust/grime that comes up in the cab, and how hot they were to drive!
Bad to the fricken bone. Where does your passion come from for these old girls. You are amazing. Love your channel. I just found it about a month ago.
Man i appreciate it thanks. I dunno where it came from but one day the bug bit me and that little sonofabitch latched on tight.
That's awesome I've been driving for over 40 years and still at it for a couple more. I love, love that old iron man, cut my teeth on it.
She sounds dialed in. It was great to see it in person and meet you in Ballston Spa.
Likewise brother! Thanks
Patients to Persevere!!!!!.AMAZING 👏
On the road again 👍
No better feeling than that right there 👍💯 pumped
26 years when I last worked my truck
Thought I’d lost it in the fires 🔥 here in Australia 🇦🇺 last year was a relief to find it hadn’t burnt took a couple batteries some fuel she fired right up I had a smile ear to ear driving it home that day
Old saying You can take the driver out of a truck but you can’t take the truck out of the driver
Got some work to get mine up to scratch
Bit by bit we will all get there
Thanks Wayne for sharing top job mate
👍💯🇦🇺🦘🦘🦘🦘
Man, that buzzin' dozen sounds great out on the road, going through the gears!
Amazing truck man.
Thanks brother
Hey bud u did one hell of a job on the truck getting it running good and moving on its on power and I love the sound of the old Detroit's and I'm glad to see the old cabovers on the road and running cause I wish they was alot more on the roads u don't see many of them anymore cause when I was 5 years old my mom and dad separated and my dad moved away from us and when I turned 15 my dad moved back down close by and he was driving big trucks and he came by to see me and my two brothers and that's what he was driving a old cabover we went with him and spent the weekend and every weekend and the summer I got to go out on the roads with him and I loved it was nice seeing different places some of the places was beautiful like I said u done one hell of a job on the truck nice job buddy
Ya she's a beaut. Lookin' good man! Noice!
Awesome vid. Gotta feel good to finally see all your hard work paying off. Well done, and looking forward to seeing you tackle the electrical on that old girl.
That will make you a very strong man driving that truck for a living! LOL
That sounded so cool, and I bet you earned a beer after wrestling with the Armstrong steering 🍻
Are you sure that the weird smell wasn't coming from those squirrell nut sheels under the console? lol i'm joking, congrats for your project, i'm happy to see is running well. Great onboard video also, very relaxing, perfect point of view. Cheers from Italy.
Nice to see it drove without getting stuck :P
Thanks for the videos on this. not really many truck videos out there for building/rebuilding/etc. Rather wish there were more. The best channels I have found for it, is yours, and ezrider359 . For new trucks, semi casual does great youtube stuff. But yours and exrider359's videos, so far, are the best for older class 8 truck work that I have found. I like how you don't ramble or chat too much. And, everything you (and ezrider359) say have meaning. Allows those of us not in the trucking industry, or lucky enough to own a class vehicle, to understand the workings and requirements of the vehicles to repair, maintain, and operate them. I am picky with who I watch with mechanically based video's and you are among my go to youtube channels.
Please keep making mint vid's.
Good Job 👍
Engine Sounds Good, Next is the steering?
Looks like it works very heavy ☹️
I wish you the best für the Next Step.
Greatings from Germany ✌️
Doctor Detroit saves again!
Good movie driver ! 👍
SHE'S A BEAUTY!
Best sounding engine on the planet
Thanks for the ride!
Now THAT'S cool!
Too freaking cool brother 🤙
Can you visit James? I wanna see how far he got with his project.
Sofaking Nice to see it back on the road after all you went through... Congratulations !
Gotta get all that mouse shit out of there. All you need is a spark from those janky old electricals and some nice tinder and that whole cab could go up in flames. In the mean time I would be sure to have a good working fire extinguisher on hand and ready to fire (excuse the pun). Good to see it go down the road. At least it made it out of the driveway! That's progress!!
I had to replay abou 9:20 3 times but it almost looked like you skipped a gear when you came out of that turnaround. Sounding good and looking good as for that leftovers from the critters I expect you will do a thorough inspection after cleanup inside the dash
Bobtailing I would skip gears all the time
Your era of Pete has the pass through stick!
Awesome!
The last years of Pete Cabovers had shift by wire.. Damn shifter is never where you left it.. 😂
Check out this channel if you don’t believe me.
FSC Trucking
That was SWEET! The sound of power goin down the road...must be some old footage(?) cuz you have the power steering and steering wheel squared away now don't you?
Oh yea easily a month behind
I was going to comment on the lack of power steering, and it looked like the steering gear looked a bit sloppy. I’ll also comment on how sweet the engine engine sounded.
Sounds great.:)
so cool !!!
Hell yeah
"Detroit power"👍🍻
I seen where u past the green truck I call it the green bean
Great Truck, btw ,is the power steering operating?.Cheers,Bob.
Screaming jimmy sounds great.
Is there much play in your steering, ive just bought a 352 with air assist but i have play in my steering. Im hoping the steering box just needs adjustment. The drag links and track rod ends are all ok.
Cool stuff! Manual steering has gotta suck tho!
I never drove a V-12 but I drove (2) 238's
Sounds like a greyhound bus
Turning around looked really hard. Does this truck not have power steering?
Most didn't in '74
This things too cool 😎
Runs really clean,, is the power steering ok?
It is now.... lol
Now you need a Jake.
The Buzzin Dozen
Sounds brill, are you going to get powered steering.
😎👍
Are you considering putting the truck back on the road to work it? Or can it legally be put back on the road? All the best from Canada
Nah she won't work again unless it's hauling my old junk.
In the words of two geniuses. Shaa-wing
She’s a ripper. Sounds frekn amazing. Didn’t hear the Jake, is there an issue there? Thanks for sharing Wayne.
There is no jake
Will you put one on? Or doesn’t need it?
@@_jason07 the plan is to add a jake since it already has the correct valve covers
BUZZIN DOZEN POWA!!
Is the high/low range switch on the dash? And I noticed it had a extra shift boot on the shift tower was it originally a twin stick truck?
No the high/low/od is all on the knob. And no its had this same rto-12513 its entire life there's no extra boot.
@@Ol2Stroker ok I was tripping i guess thanks for replying and I love your videos keep them coming!
Will do Thanks!!
Armstrong steering. That'll make you have big arms.
is there any power steering in that big girl
Power assist
I meant to say swinging mate meat
You mean swinging meat mate 😄
What is the air switch with the red light it's not the diff is it
She worked like a real Diamond (in the rough) buuut she's MINT!
Loved the Ride and that sweet Purring 12V71 (smooth as silk)
The reward of all the hard work you put into her :)
Good to see ol Mossybroke being Shiny as a Diamond.
Greetz from The Netherlands
Bjorn
Now if you just had a load grossing about 100,000 you could see what it could really do...
Still just need to straight pipe it
Thoes engines were super loud even with the mufflers...I see why firefighters wear hearing protection..
Nawwww bro its super quiet in the cab.
@@Ol2Stroker haa haa..yeah I heard it..lol sounds like one of the older fire trucks..ha ha
Does the ac not work or those fans.
The old trucksgot around 5 mpg if they were lucky
Needs air assist steering lol
Take it to the dealer to be fine tuned
🆒🆒🆒👍👍👍👍👍🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
