As a senior (over age 75) I KNOW that if vocalists want to keep their voice, they have to work at it - a lot. Gene's a perfect example of an "older" singer who has maintained and practiced his skill.Thank you dear Gene - we all love you.

Gene Watson is one of the most underrated singers ever. His voice and choice of songs are the best. Why this man isn't at the top of the charts, even today, is beyond belief. A true country music legend and you can see it by his audience and their reaction to him singing.

For many many years I just loved to listen to Alan Jackson. Then One day I accidently chose This song and since that day I am now hooked on all of Gene's songs.
I likes all of of his songs I go to bed listening the old songs but the new people just don’t know nothing back in the 50s and the 60 songs.

I must disagree with you. It is only my opinion though. I think he has gotten better with age. His voice continues to get better and better. But that's just me and I've liked him since he first came out!!!

I have said for yesrs and years that Gene was one of the most undsr appreciated singers. Now that the better known ",stars" are dying off, country music is depending on Gene for its older audience.
Wow - one of the greatest voices ever !! Gene has kept his music country and I am so proud of that. His ballads are my favorites but I do like his gospel music, too. I have never been able to choose my favorite of all of his songs because to me they're all number ones. I first heard this song by Ray Price - another fabulous artist - and Gene does it so well also. "This Dream's On Me" I love by Gene. It's great to see the many country stars in these videos - priceless. Thank you - Paula

I especially love singers who GET IT. IT being the writer's meaning/interpretations and nail them. Gene, imo, is one of those few singers who gets to you deeply and emotionally. I respect HIS deep respect for the lyrical intent of the writer that he works hard to translate FOR US! GENE never leaves anything behind on the bar. He properly finishes-off everything that he lifts his voice to toast us, the audience, with.

I'm 72 yrs old and I was a neighborhood bar star for close to 40 of those years. I'm probably one of the biggest country fans there ever was. I officially want to say that Gene Watson is so far ahead of all the country singers I've ever heard. There is no other Number One artist.in the world of country. There's a bunch of number 2's but he's the very best.

I just saw my first Gene Watson show. Always loved him on You Tube...in person he's wonderful. Bought his "Country" album & play it in my car every time I go out in it. Love this man's singing & "old" country sound.

I usually just consider singers as someone to fill in the gaps between the steel guitar parts, but I could listen to Gene Watson all day and all night......what a great rendition of this classic country tune. Fantastic job.

Just saw Gene at Strawberry Festival in Plant City Florida this afternoon. Gene is a real pro. A master of breath control with tremendous range. A great all round entertainer. I'll lay my money down to see Gene again anytime.
