Bish, óptima, si no perfecta. La mejor versión que he oído. Gracias

    I have this on Cd,being sung by the immortal tenor Enrico Caruso,this is a tear jerker,there are a few high-C's even with Caruso's velvet voice,it still brings tears to my eyes,the beauty of opera,can do that to me,and the organ can duplicate the orchestra,what great gifts,our Heavenly Father gave us.Praise his Holy Righteous name,Amen.

    I never heard a better version of Händel, Largo! Diane Bish is an artist among others, but my favorite organist. I wish she would come to Canada (Montreal And Toronto-Ottawa) to give us the pleasure of seing her play so beautifully our organs.

    2 Ombra Mai Fu (original Italian)
    3 Largo from Xerxes
    4. Worthy Art Thou (Lord God Almighty.) Choral

    My name ils Paolo Ruffatti; Mr Giuseppe Ruffatti'son.
    Wen I was joung awfully the Ruffatti's firm was broken into three pieces. Mr Giuseppe Ruffatti ,who founded the firm, refused to make american organs as they were designed to "scream" with high pressure air flow (therefore losing many harmonics). the american organ's price then was three times the italian one. It was for this sole reason that the youngest Ruffatti brother, went to america, where i hear he made many celebrated organs.

    I love this piece, but am always bemused that it was originally to be sung by the emperor, Xerxes in praise of a tree! (praising its shade (Ombra Mai Fu) and wishing it a long life, free from pests and diseases.
    I wonder if Handel ever thought that he may have used his best tune in a less than fitting scenario.

      If _you_ had just been traipsing through the desert, under the blazing sun, you, too, might feel deeply thankful for the shade provided by a tree: indeed, it could be the difference between life and death. I'll take Handel's judgement over yours.

    This rivals van Oosten's performance of Vierne's "Carillon de Westminster" on the Cavaille-Coll at Notre Dame. Carpenter might be the "top gun", but Bish is the Grand Master.

    Mrs. Bish performed a nice romantic piece for organ, but this has nothing to do with Handel! Which composer or organist of the Baroque would have used so many 8' stops???

    • @kobdup8315
      @kobdup8315 Год назад +1

      Correct. An unstylistic and sloppy performance. Registration reflects nothing of the Baroque. She seems to be entirely oblivious of subtle Baroque articulation. Changing of stops makes no sense at awkward places.

  • @Rattywotin
    @Rattywotin 13 лет назад +1

    This is ponderous, stillted, hasn't been thought through - the tell tale was when she introduced the piece as being from Handel's "comic opera" Xerxes - ermm she should have done her research

    • @kobdup8315
      @kobdup8315 Год назад +1

      Correct. A sloppy, unstylistic legato performance reflecting no Baroque registration or articulation. Tempo is stilted and pedantic ally slow. No evidence of any research into Handel's stylistical playing.

    • @kobdup8315
      @kobdup8315 Год назад +1
