    The PS4 Pro is a great option in-between the PS5 and base PS4. If you find a good deal, I’d definitely say it’s still worth it, especially with the PS5 still impossible to find.

    I own both a PS4 Pro & a PS5. I actually bought my PS4 Pro AFTER I bought my PS5. The thing that never gets mentioned in these videos is the value in owning both systems when you have a family. With one PS+ subscription you can have the monthly free games on both systems and every digital game you buy will work on both systems simultaneously. This is a HUGE deal for someone that has multiple people living in the house.

      That´s way i bought a PS4 Pro last Summer... i killed my normal PS4 while cleaning. PS5 was coming at the end of the year but it was obvious to me (hard to get one). PS4 Po upscaling work really got and on my 65 inch 4k Samsung it look better than before. I think they will support PS4 some years (until 2023/4~)because they need the extra money. It is a win win win. Developer can make more money, player can play the games even with the old console. I ll go later for PS5 slim (i hope in black). No need for PS5 Pro. I want a small console wiith good airflow. But thats my preference.
      BUT you could go for Series S. In my country i can get one for around 270 which is awsome. But i´m a classic player. I need discs in most of the time.

    I got the PS4 Pro back in 2019, and have since added a 1TB Samsung Evo SSD. It makes a big difference to the smoothness of the PS4 interface. Still plays all my games really well, so I don't see the point in getting a PS5 yet. Also, Sony is still sorting out bugs on the PS5's software... and the rumours of a PS5 Pro, makes me want to wait a bit longer.

Also, while I expected console shortages, I was still quite surprised that others have had so much difficulty getting their hands on one.

    They need to change the dual-sense controller or allow you to use dualshock 4 for PS5 games. My fingers get numb from it and it's super uncomfortable after 25 mins of game play. So for those chasing the PS5...let me feel you better. I have a PS5, and I'm literally only buying PS4 versions of games due to the controller issue. As a word of advice from one Pro owner to another you should also install an SSD into the Pro, it really unlocks the Pros potential. Not as much as the PS5 obviously, but it's certainly leagues better than the stock drive. You never buy a console at launch; I only got my PS4 because it was years later on sale. The PS5, and Series X, don't have any exclusives that warrant a $500 purchase. Plus $70 games. No thanks. I'll end up getting a Series X first in a year or 2. Then I'll get a PS5 once its gone through a revision or two. Smaller box, bigger storage, actual worthwhile exclusives... hopefully.

      Yeah that's true. I got a ps5 2 weeks ago and mainly it's just a huge upgrade from my 2015 base ps4. Its clean and silent, unlike the ps4 jet engine. The exclusives depends, horizon forbidden west just came out for ps5 (and ps4) and the new god of war is coming out this year, not to mention the new spiderman game coming soon and wolverine. But that's like a year down the road, so I agree with still waiting to get a ps5 or series x, my friend has the ps4 pro and he says its quiet and works great, plus the 4k upgrade from the base ps4. Sucks that scalpers are buying them out too now, I cant find a pro for the retail price anymore, only ones that are like $600+.

      Thanks for the input. We don't have a 4K TV and still using a 60" Pioneer Elite Pro Kuro - 151FD for our console play. It looks great and because it is 1080P the games do not struggle to try to keep up with a higher resolution. I did want to play Demon's Souls on PS5 but instead, I am playing on PC, and actually, I prefer to play most games on PC but it is so hard to hold off on not getting new technology. Looking back all Playstations had issues when first released and the PS5 is not alone so it is always best to wait for updates and fixes to be released. And, well, the PS5 design is not my favorite either.

      LMAO! You are only saying this because you are either (a) poor; or (b) can't find a console. 'Next gen' is more than just having new games.
      If you can get a PS5 and you have a backlog of PS4 titles, then there is LITERALLY no reason why you should continue playing on the PS4. The SSD in itself, as well as its load times warrant the upgrade. Not to mention games look sharper visually without a patch. 60fps presents another reason to shelve the PS4.
      Without the PS5 I would never have put in over 300 hours in Cyberpunk. 60fps+ has always been the norm for PC, but from a console perspective, I can never go back to 30.

Ofcourse you need a 4k and hdr tv to get the most out of it, but the supersampling mode is great to and sometimes can even look better on some games if a 1080p tv has hdr. Also if you like PSVR you will love the extra power and visuals on the pro vs a base if the game has pro support/updated for it.
    I don't even know if I'll trade towards or sell my ps4 pro when I get a ps5, because I don't trust the ps5 and anything that happens to my pro could probably be fixed easily and cheaply. Still an improvement and worth getting if your Slim or Base PS4 is really showing age, but part of me thinks it's more worthwhile to try and snag a PS5 from a drop. Not easy, but I tried a Wal-Mart drop and placed an order. Just a matter of following restock tracking twitter accounts.
    But I do think there is a place for the Pro absolutely, it's a shame they discontinued it though. You would think they would have made the Pro the default PS4 model after the 5 released, considering the 5 is still a HUGE step above the Pro in every respect. But who knows really.

Got to play my favorite games + new DLCs on it and the resolution will surprise ya, especially combined with HDR. Very few games suffer from framerate loss. In fact, most PS4 games run at a much better framerate if you play them at 1080p mode. Only problem is that the disc drive broke after a year, literally one month after the warranty expired. Still, I plan on holding onto my PS4 Pro until they stop making PS5 titles compatible with it. Seems very likely it'll be the only way to play PS5 exclusives in the future if I'm going to be honest.

    Im glad you made this video not to long ago because I was just doing research yesterday and the day before wondering if I should just upgrade to a ps4 pro because having the system means better specs and twice better 16 gb ram performance etc. Since I only have the slim but I’ll probably try to wait until they make the ps5 pro or something like that with better specs. Thank you

      Ps4 pro only has 9gb of ram not 16. However a ssd upgrade substantially improves the Console's efficiency

    I got lucky a few months back and my coworker gave me his rarely used Pro! It was the most recent model too so no problems with fan noise. I ended up buying him a birthday gift as a trade/thank you (my idea, he was giving for free) so it only cost a little over $100. Still a great find! The only thing I don't like is that it won't run certain PS4 games at 60 fps like the PS5.

    From my experience, the PS5 is obviously better for gaming, but the PS4 has much better media options. PS5 doesn't have Paramount+. Also, if you're someone who enjoys watching MP4s & other video types, the PS5 doesn't give full information of them, such as the audio & video codecs. That makes it extremely hard if you need to figure out what to convert if there's an error and won't immediately play on the TV (yes, you can check them on a PC, but it's easier when the option is right in front of you). You also can't put anything except for games on the expandable NVME drive. And let's not forget about the PS5's terrible UI, which is very small & doesn't have themes, folders, etc. I'm sure that several of these will all be fixed in the future, but then again, it did take several years for the PS4 to get folders....

    The PS4 Pro’s production has stopped, that’s why it’s not easy to find. Sony ceased it because it doesn’t make sense to sell two 4K with one being drastically better at $399, same with Microsoft with the Xbox One X. It doesn’t make sense to sell two 4K machines at $499 for them either, especially with the confusing name convention.

    Yeah, I'm pretty grateful for having even a PS4 Pro. For one, the PS5 sells out faster than anything I ever ever seen. Plus Its still better than having a slim.
    Let's also not forget how much better it is having a terrabyte of space. The space bit was a huge turn off for me.

    Definitely “worth” the upgrade from PS4 slim to Pro for the PSVR games. The difference is definitely noticeable during game play…. Figured if I get a few years of use it will be worth every penny. I did buy it directly from Sony PlayStation refurbished. This looks brand new, no scratches or funk from previous owner and comes with the full year warranty without spending extra $ like at BB or Game Stop (makes it a good trustworthy buy and they are in stock). This guy is funny- as IF it were even an option to get a PS5 without getting absolutely gouged and the prices on average are higher than his quotes for PS Pro in US.

      How are loading times for the ps4 pro in comparison to your slim?

    • @Spicy_So_Nicey3746
      @Spicy_So_Nicey3746 2 года назад

      @@415VIS The loading times do seem faster, maybe by a quarter to a third but not anywhere near as fast as what a PS5 would offer, but the improved clarity (a lot of games have been optimized for PS4 Pro) combined with faster load times and 4K capability make this a good purchase imo (even for older tech) I definitely don’t feel a need to rush into getting a PS5, which are still very difficult to find. Now I don’t need to worry about it and will upgrade maybe in another year or two when new games aren’t being released (with PS5 upgrades) anymore.

      @@Spicy_So_Nicey3746 thanks for the response, do you think it’s worth upgrading from my slim to a pro even if I don’t have a 4K display? I have a series X so also don’t need the PS5 right away, but could get a used ps4 Pro for around $230

    • @Spicy_So_Nicey3746
      @Spicy_So_Nicey3746 2 года назад

      @@415VIS Personally I did the upgrade to get the most out of my current PSVR for now and won’t even worry about PS5 until at least after PSVR 2 is out and in stock. That said, I also do not have 4K- just an old 55” Westinghouse (not even a smart TVs) but plan on upgrading to 4K TV with Black Friday sales that kick off in November. I just didn’t think the PS4 slim was cutting it for VR games and it is nearly impossible to find PS5 still without getting price gouged. Even if you did get a PS5, you would need camera adapter and only a small handful of the games are even markedly improved over PS4 Pro right now anyway. (Like No Mans Sky) So- the best concession, for me at least, for now was to upgrade to PS4 Pro (used) over slim as a very good tide over and am very content with it. I can’t wait to get the 4K tv to go with it and am amped for the upcoming sales!

    To whoever is watching now, if you're still gonna get one, do it quick because they're officially not being produced anymore and prices are going up. If you find one for retail price, get it. They're gonna be gone soon and expensive as all PS4 prices have maintained due to PS5 still hard to come by.
