Charlie Magri actually there's alot of originality and talent to be found now that you don't have to go through record labels to hear it. There's also endless space for lazy idiots to complain about today's music... Like they have since forever... Inadvertently slagging off every hard working young musician in favor of established ones from thirty years ago and sounding like the whiniest entitled little shits on the planet.
I'm no lazy idiot and once found fame myself, but you should realise that each era includes artists which base their style on others from previous times and the ones which do offer a bit more originality, all build up a fan base which stands the test of time. Added to that, each era's genre actually reflects those particular times and can't ever be re-created again, so you can't really expect the majority who are stuck in the 1980's to ever understand or consider most what is produced today as something which they haven't already heard before! I must assume that most of those 1980's acts copied the ones from the previous decade, because I hear music from today and there are many solo artists from the 1970's which ideas are clearly being copied and the only difference is that the produce it with all of the aspects which define the different styles which this decade stand for! Just accept that both Marc and Dave Ball have talent, because they still work in the industry and only because they have something worthwhile to offer. In years to come, you'll have the exact same attitude too!
Dude, I fucking know that, and I DID have that attitude at one point, back BEFOREI actually started working my ass off as a musician. Quit patting my precious little head.
+ThumpingBeats1 Hi ThumpingBeats1, this was one of the standout tracks on this album and it used to drive the other members of my family mad when I played it...whether it be teenage angst or disappointed life choices, it say`s it all...
My guess ; ) speed to wake up, then they both dropped acid before getting on stage... and of course mdma to round things out. Marc described this regimen in his book, I'm amazed they could function.
Can I ask without judging do most fans of this style of music like hearing someone sound like they are speaking? A lot of New Wave from this period was awesome to me but i dont recall the yelling words as much as beautiful music.
Not my fav to be sincere.. nor the style. But most of their songs and his solo career... love it!!; I prefer Memorabilia or Where did our love go. Just saying.
And at the end of the video are some uber cool kids dancing like no one does today; all the hip-hop dance moves kids dance today are putrid. Everyone tries to dance like their black today it's absurd. Crap Commercial Hip-hop has destroyed the music industry...
You have to imagine...In 1982 it was Duran Duran and Spandau Ballet...This band were very , very subversive for pop music...I LOVE THEM!
Subversive is the right word!
@@chattingesque372 ❤😂🎉
Marc sings with so much feeling and emotion!
Great keyboard, great voice
Two guys, a keyboard and some backing. Can't imagine any band brave enough to go out with so little backup nowadays.
Peaches?
Andrew Kelly Hence, a lack of originality or talent!

+ThumpingBeats1 Hi ThumpingBeats1, this was one of the standout tracks on this album and it used to drive the other members of my family mad when I played it...whether it be teenage angst or disappointed life choices, it say`s it all...
I'm STILL playing it over and over again!

Reminds me of the first time I saw soft cell live. Art of falling apart tour. Derby assembly rooms. Insane days. 🕶🕶

My guess ; ) speed to wake up, then they both dropped acid before getting on stage... and of course mdma to round things out. Marc described this regimen in his book, I'm amazed they could function.

Looks like he's wearing the Psychic TV logo on his jacket. I wouldn't be surprised if he did like them.
just got the vinyl the other day and marc almond thanks p genesis/psychic tv
He was featured on the first album, so yeah he was probably a fan lol
He also collaborated with Coil.

Agreed.
AA You can't dance to modern music anyway, it's too spacey, cold and slow
Very very very art school. A poser making show and another guy with cheap synth struggling with 4 notes.
Technically 5 notes.
did this fool just call marc almond a poser? HA!
and what's wrong with that?
Nothing. Very nostalgic. Reminds student days. :)
ecstasy was legal back then. just sayin.
