  • Near the finish line with this new Wildscape and it is time for adding those little details to help bring this slice of nature to life. One of my favorites things to add is the Overtwist stitch, which is a super easy way to add vines or moss to your embroidery. And really, this stitch couldn’t be easier. Let me know in the comments what you think.

I am excited to give this a try. The texture is beautiful.

I’ve found it’s much easier on my hands to leave the needle threaded (pulling the loose end close to the needle) and spin the needle between my fingers, thus untwisting the yarn. Thank you so much for sharing this stitch!

I must be so uncoordinated because I stab myself most of the time. I also find myself holding it close to the twist. I need to give it another try the other way. I just ordered some more silk beading cord as it’s my favorite to use with the stitch. Do you have a favorite thread for this one

That's cool!! Think I did this YEARS ago. You need a drill to twist it!! Lol. TFS!

Interesting! Is there any particular reason you overtwist in the opposite direction? Can it be done by continuing the twist in the original direction? Thanks for sharing. xoxo

You do get the same effect when you twist in the original direction. Something about untwisting and then twisting the opposite gives the look.
