Genuinely buzzing for Scott McLaughlin on pole - knew just how good he was from his time in V8 Supercars, and as a UK Touring Car enjoyer, any driver going from that discipline into another one has my full backing.

@@willbrown6287 I do wonder if the end goal with the NAPA deal is to get Sutton to try out something in the US - and I reckon he'd be damn quick in it as well.
@@JakePetrolhead my thoughts too. I saw Sutton was raving about the NASCAR round at Bristol a few weeks back on twitter. I think his biggest strength (amongst many) is his car positioning in close quarters racing, which is a real skill to have on the short ovals (Bristol, Martinsville, Richmond etc.) - I think he'd be a proper threat given time and experience. He's also raced with Matt Neal so he knows a thing or two about the whole rubbing is racing thing as well...

Came to Indy to support McLaughlin but Kyle Larson is winning me over as a dark horse in this one. Seems like such a nice guy.
Outside of the Penske boys, I reckon the sleepers are Veekay, Palou and Herta.
Also Scotty Mac's vest finish is 14th, not 4th.
Many of us are.pulling for.Kyle.
The mclaren too. Specially o'ward, he is always there at the front. He and Newgarden are the best oval racers. Qualifying and racing are two different stories.
Your production value has really gone up this year, it is quite noticeable so you're a new staff hires or your team I should say doing a great job. You still deserve more viewers! Keep Aiming High brother. All the best

Imagine if Marco can pull it off this time. I’ve watched a dozen old Indy 500 races the last week and Marco has ran so well in so many and just hasn’t been able to do it

Seriously, if rain is a factor Marco could very well win. He’s led the race on strategy the last couple of years and Craig Hampson’s back with the team this year. If he’s consistently towards the front and rain becomes a factor, a savvy pit call could nab Marco his first 500 win!

The Andretti cars seemed fairly quick. Marco said a few days ago during the interviews that the car has the potential to stay in top 10, with the right adjustments even in top 6. Generally he feels better than the last 3 years.
It's true though that in qualifying the car wasn't a rocketship on the straights...

Marco is waaay overdue for the checkered flag,Ferruchi has been a force to be reckoned with for the last 4 or 5 years i hope to see the Iceman and Santino sticking their nose into the fight for the win,one thing is for certain its going to be a great race,i look forward to it every year, fire em up boys lets go racing !

edit: despite the st pete stuff i really like him as a driver and hope he does well, a 2nd indy 500 win would be fitting of a 2 time indy champion
The DSQ caused a lot of controversy so I think it can still be described as controversial without questioning whether the ruling was right

Pato O'Ward should have won last year. He had the best car running late in the race. But.. The restart at the end of last year's race messed him up. Let's go Pato become the 1st Mexican born Driver to win the Indy 500

As a Lundgaard fan, I would love to see him win. My prediction is that we'll get a Penske 1-2-3. Am looking forward to hearing "Back Home Again in Indiana" again. As far as the pre-race pageantry goes, it is by far my favorite part. :)

I know Indycar said they will do everything they can to make sure the race ends under green. Does that mean if say 125 laps are complete and it rains the rest of the day they will come back Monday for the rest???

What happened to Jonathan Summerton? He was in Europe with Alexander Rossi? Way back when Peter Vessi was on wind tunnel that UNITED STATES GRAND PRIX Team Dave Dispain was asked about Rossi & Summerton would have a seat in the new team

I don't think Romain Grosjean will win the race, but I'm gonna cheer for him all the same. As for who's gonna win - well, one of the Penske drivers, I guess. Can be any one of them. Though with Indy 500 you never know.
Favorites have to be one of the Penskes. Newgarden is a previous winner so he's my bet. After him, the other Penskes: SM then WP.
Ferrucci and Rossi are good bets and I would say Palou is my dark horse.
McLaughlin, Dixon, Armstrong. Kiwi 1,2,3. If not then I hope a McLaren wins. They still have a Kiwi for a badge. Go the Kiwis, we're all behind you in NZ boys. Do it for Sir Colin.
There are so many drivers I'd like to see win I'm not even going to try to name them all. At least 1/4 of the field. lol

This year is going to be a rough one! The field has four drivers that I could easily pull for: Helio going for number five has got to be a popular shot; Kyle Larson is another real pleasing driver to root for. Especially if he can go for the double.. No driver going for the double has ever won at Indy, so I hope that the weather holds off.; Scott McLaughlin is such a great personality, how could one not pull for him -- he's just a nice guy!; and finally, Marco has been so cool and collected this year, it would be wonderful to see the Andretti family finally get win number two, after all these years! Yes, this year has the potential to be one of the greatest Indys in a LONG time!
