Then there are"Tradies" that instead of using sewer pipe just slap some mortar onto whatever building rubble that is handy to make the join from the floor flange to the actual sewer pipe. at 0:55 leaving holes into the space below the floor. And before them, other "Tradies" that take a recent modern dual flush low flow replacement toilet and cement it to the floor leaving no way to clear a blockage instead of using the standard flange bolts while leaving the empty mounting holes at the base of the new toilet empty to collect water and grow mold and bacteria. No pride, and no building codes. There may have been one not shown, but isn't there supposed to be a surface vent adjacent to that boundary trap ? All this has an oriental flavor.

This is far too common these days. Mate of mine found his new toilet bowl full plaster and of broken wall tiles. He sent photos of that to the builder along with the message that no payment will be made until her returns and cleans up the mess he left. The gutless builder sent an apprentice to face the music.

Hello from the UK I find it very strange how over in nz that you cut holes in the back of the toilet for access and that they havnt designed it so that you don't have to and there is a access point the people of the UK would have a fit if they come one to this 🤣 good work my man and keep it up ratty and the gange do a really good job 😎

It doesn't matter about builders saying they'll treat your place with care & respect etc. As soon as they arrive, your place becomes their worksite and all bets are off. They don't give a stuff.
That is a floor waste with a water seal . The toilet does not connect to that floor trap and connects directly to the sewer. The shower and hand basin run into the floor waste. When i jet it blows air back through the floor waste .
@@deconteesawyer5758 The line is vented, the gasses came up the floor waste at the beginning when i flushed the toilet because the line was blocked. After the line was cleared the bubbling in the floor waste stopped!👍The vent is located outside.

For the period that the line was partially blocked sewer gas from the toilet was permitted to bubble up into the bathroom every time it was flushed. Stinky. Please tell us where that outdoor vent was located as I did not see one.

All good! If I ever build a house, I'm going to put an access point on every bend of the drainage pipes!
And put multiple cutoff valves in your supply lines so you can turn off parts of the property as needed during pipe breaks or renovations.
Where the bend will be inaccessible for 90 degrees use two 45s or a "sweep" to attain a larger radius bend.
AvE would be pleased with that plentiful application of schmoo.

That bathroom has a grate cover with holes in it that sewage passes through when the toilets flushed? That's doesn't stink up the house?
