I love my magic 6 Pro so much. On so many occasions, my friends with their iPhone 15 Pro and S24 just put their phones away and let me take the photos. They say they felt robbed by Samsung and apple. Lol. Especially with photos taken with people standing in front of a bright background. The iPhone has it overblown and my Honor just fixes it and both the foreground and background are perfectly exposed.
H, do you find your camera stabilization causing your cameras clunking/ ratteling more compared to brand new when shaking it? I mean not shaking, shaking, just a little bit more when speaking on the phone and the stabilization is making noise. I heard them when I opened the box and I knew what it was from my previous flagship, which had a tiny noise, but I heard the same noise in a video here showing Samsung. My question is, do they rattle more compared to new in your opinion, or maybe is it normal to get loose in a few months? I tried taking video and photoswhen shaking the phone and they work well, so no issues with functionality. Thank You.
@@Valdismith Yes, I do also hear a rattle every now and then and also sometimes when I'm on the phone. But it could be that the calling app, like WhatsApp, activates it to prepare it for potential video call. Otherwise nothing serious. It's normal.
Really appreciate you doing these follow-up tests, Chris. Many reviewers just review phones within 2 weeks of release and never revisit them and there are often so many updates to improve camera quality. Most phones are on borderline beta software when they're released (not that that's excusable in $1000+ phones) and it's good to see how they perform after they have matured a bit.
Thanks I will do more if these videos do well. The Magic6 Pro go a big update and later my X100 Ultra and Pura 70 Ultra also got updates. Samsung has a camera update coming apparently so when that is out I might test again. I've been waiting so long for it.

It's better than Samsung only issue I don't like magic os I prefer one ui and Samsung offers 7 years of software update I also noticed that when typing it reminders straight away how you type but with Samsung 😔@@Techtablets

Same here..i got honot m6pro for 780€ where s24U was simply 500€ more i.e at 1270€ and iphone was somewhere at 1700€ or more! Honor beats the other both hands down in terms of what u get for your money
With Samsung and Apple, you get the higher resale value and the very useful offline locating of your lost phone. Samsung and Apple can locate even offline. Samsung can also activate maximum power savings mode on remotely so the lost phone stays alive for a long time.

Magic 6 Pro got only minor camera improvements. I think the harcourt portrait update that hopefully will come soon will bring a huge improvement in terms of portrait shots. Honor still has the best video footage with Movie Mode and Classic LUT Also did you notice that sometimes there is no zoom out animation on Honor when switching from Tele to Uwide?
8:01, people don't notice how samsung lose details on the ground most of the time. Even at some scenarios. But you still managed to pick the samsung photos even most of them detailes has been smoothen out compare to the other 2 like this one.

Although I think the Honor Magic 6 Pro colors are probably somehow oversaturated, especially when I look at recordings of the boats. I like those colors more, looks more like film. All in all very good comparison, many thnaks for that!
Fair enough! Yes more over saturated and sometimes too warm like the low light shot of the lifesaver in the marina. But it does well to compete with both of them in some photos it did get some wins.
I'm still not convinced by Samsung swapping to the 5x optical lens, they should have just upgraded the sensors to a decent 50mp on the existing 3 and 10x lenses
Samsung opted with the 5x optical so switching between lenses can be done while recording at 4k 60fps. Right now there's no chip that can do so reliably or not cause the phone to overheat using a 10x optical. This is the reason why the S23u never records 4k 60 videos while switching between lenses.

I'm wondering if camera evaluations should be done in reverse: not "who's the best", but "who's not terribad". Iphone has quite a few fails even in video (that background mountain !) where I think it's overall best. Honor has few fails in pics ? Samsung stutters a bit in vid, no fails in pics except low-light ? Overall for pics in realistic conditions, I'd go with Honor. And Apple for vids.
All have pros and cons--no outright winner for me--depends on what you need. With that said then choosing between these three devices will be about the rest of the package and net cost. Personally I would not buy the iPhone with only two months before the iPhone 16, so I would wait until then as the new Pixels will also be in the game and we have a fairer comparison as all will be 2024 phones.
I'm not into iPhones (pixel 8 pro here), but the video coming out of the iphone just seems so far ahead of what the best android phones can offer. There's something about the video that I can't quite put my finger on (maybe the sharpness/softness, maybe the colours) that makes it look fantastic.

Did you ever test the setting "dont lower fps" (or what it called) in dark i had iphone 15pm but did not try it before returning it. Would be interesting to see if they set the iso even higher or the video become more dark. And hopfylly it removes stutter/framedrops.
I could but all phones in my camera comparisons I keep on default settings to make it fair no tweaking anything. But it might help I will have to test.
Generally the iPhone 15 PM is the best in most cases, definitely not all the cases. For example I really liked the micro picture from Samsung more as well as the portrait one. For the Samsung I think they really need to partner up with some experts in the photography field like the Swedish Hasselblad or other similar companies.
The 10x video record on the S23u is optical, while on the S24u is digital with AI. Optical always wins. Samsung added AI to compensate for this sacrifice as they wanted to make the 4k 60 video recording on all lenses seamless. With a 10x lens, this is not possible yet.
There's no point, in the right hands the Xiaomi is light years ahead of the S24 ultra but all these comparisons (not just pointing the finger here as RUclips is full of them) are all auto mode shots only, point, click end of manual. Xiaomi uses the very best mobile camera hardware with very natural/little processing, the big names use average to good hardware and therefore use lots of processing in an attempt to make up for the deficiencies. It depends on what you want from a phone, nice classy filmic shots or straight to Instagram shots - there's a big difference. 35mm F1.6 shots in photo mode on the Xiaomi destroys anything that any phone can do in portrait mode, but no-one ever showcases each phone's strengths (unless the strengths are "point, click end of manual"), the edge detection in portrait mode on the 14 Ultra isn't the best admittedly, but when the hardware allows you to take portraits without a fake bokeh effect, use it. God forbid a photographer makes a comparison with pro mode only, it would be a blood bath and the big 3 wouldn't come out of it very well.

I must say that after first minutes of wideo and how detailed and stable Magic 6 is in that part of walking and mountain view I will not say Iphone is still King of videos... Of course not everyone will like that Magic colours (I like it) but how much I love iPhones videos that I was very impressed by Magic in that shoot while walking.
I remember when you compared Huawei P60 Pro with 15 Pro Max and S24 Ultra it was better than both in low lights. I still go with Huawei latest devices even Honor Magic 6 Pro has latest tech but actual camera quality is still lower than Huawei devices

I'm just at the beginning of the video so far, but what the heck is with the audio coming from the iPhone microphone? Sounds horrendous a lot of the time, right? It almost has this like robotic echo to it or something (not an iPhone hater at all btw).
For me, it's obvious that Honor Magic 6 Pro is not as good as DXOmark people told us. They just adjusted score for themselves, to "prove" something, which is just a big lie. Honor is the worst of those 3, so why is in best top3 DXOmark phones by camera? It's ridicilous. Should be MUCH LOWER on the DXO ranking.

Are you sure it does? Because it hasn't had so far as i am following only that feature (4k60 in front cam) for couple months whether they put that with an update or not. They added it with the newest update? @@Techtablets
It is easy to remove wind noise in post and all three would need some post editing to do that. So I never worry about background noise like that. If you are a pro you probably wouldn't use a phone or would use an external mic. Also, wind noise sometimes adds to the video as it creates an atmosphere. Obviously a vlog you would probably use an external mic with a windshield.
4.21, iphone do really bad after talking pictures. After few seconds the photonic engine(deep fusion) do over process and increse the clarity and make over contrasty photo. It is much worst.. Before taking the photo in viewfinder shows good results. The over processing ruined the photo.
Well looking at the whole image, the sea, the background and the sky I felt that was better with the Honor. Samsung sky full of noise and artifacts can't exactly get the win there. Or their Purple skies.
Unless you are doing portrait, it's about the whole photo. When an artist paints a picture they will not paint the background inferior and the subject superior.

Samsung and iPhone have not improved much the last 2 years. Myself still use Samsung S22 Ultra because the new one is close to the same level and not worth the money for me. Maybe Samsung S25 Ultra will be woth it, hope they can put in bigger sensors in their phone so they improve theip poor low light preformance. The main camera should have 1 inch sensor as both Xiami and Vivo have it.
For the money Honor all day every day. Only loses in some situations in zoom against the Iphone and Samsung. And it has a more resistant screen and a longer lasting battery than the other two. For the money, Honor baby.

I agree, back to my Pixel 8 Pro. Those denying the S24U underwhelming camera performance are Samsung superfine apologists. I understand that it was the first year of the 5X zoom, that the 3X zoom is ancient and that the 200mp primary has never really lived up to the hype, but Samsung needs to do a lot of work for the S25U.
No idea how can Magic 6 Pro tops the DxoMark chart.. clearly it lacks a lot in telephoto/periscope zoom area.. they should put 3.5x lens instead, which is arguably good for potrait + zoom, and with that 200mp (180mp), we can good hybrid 5x 10x & above pic/video.. look at how good the X100 Ultra is (with the same concept).. if we really need 2.5x, just digital zoom it with the already good big main 50mp lens

I don't use camera but I can definitely say that my honor magic 6 pro is way better than my s24 ultra it feal lighter and easier to hold it's cheaper it's smoother it has a much better battery and charging speed and I can tell watching that it has better cameras

It's a nice allrounder phone. Not the best video or zoom but the rest is amazing for the price. Also the super fast shutter main camera.

Please include the VivoX100pro as well since it's gotten some updates maybe it would do more. Although VivoX100pro is already a beast.

honor seems to have a Fuji-like color tuning....not real...but the sky looks so eye-pleasing

I must say that after first minutes of wideo and how detailed and stable Magic 6 is in that part of walking and mountain view I will not say Iphone is still King of videos... Look at that mountains details brother. Of course not everyone will like that Magic colours (I like it) but how much I love iPhones videos that I was very impressed by Magic in that shoot while walking.

I remember when you compared Huawei P60 Pro with 15 Pro Max and S24 Ultra it was better than both in low lights. I still go with Huawei latest devices even Honor Magic 6 Pro has latest tech but actual camera quality is still lower than Huawei devices

@@Techtablets Huawei sold Honor but I guess they are not giving full Image Processing Engine to Honor. And Huawei has thousands of R&D Engineers that is making difference in quality.

I'm just at the beginning of the video so far, but what the heck is with the audio coming from the iPhone microphone? Sounds horrendous a lot of the time, right? It almost has this like robotic echo to it or something (not an iPhone hater at all btw).

For me, it's obvious that Honor Magic 6 Pro is not as good as DXOmark people told us. They just adjusted score for themselves, to "prove" something, which is just a big lie.
Honor is the worst of those 3, so why is in best top3 DXOmark phones by camera? It's ridicilous. Should be MUCH LOWER on the DXO ranking.
I don't agree, and I'm saying that as a Samsung and iPhone fan... But wach that video closely and see how good Magic is... Don't be only a hater and look at that objective... I also love iPhones for best videos and ex. stabilization but man look at that Magic performance it's really really good... Look at that walking scene on beginning and how detailed mountains are on Magic.
For me Honor is the best in the android world and I respect DXO's opinion which is a verry detailed one.

It is easy to remove wind noise in post and all three would need some post editing to do that. So I never worry about background noise like that. If you are a pro you probably wouldn't use a phone or would use an external mic. Also, wind noise sometimes adds to the video as it creates an atmosphere. Obviously a vlog you would probably use an external mic with a windshield.
Why during zooming, s24 Ultra was shaking in so weird way ? My for instance is not doing that...

Honor's colours look completely different to the other two, but the audio is so good from the honor it's sounds like a voice over
Honors color are always more saturated,same with honor 200 pro.
So regardless if you get an s24 or fold, samsung needs a better photo department lol. They need a better partner like fuji film or sony or zeiss.

4.21, iphone do really bad after talking pictures. After few seconds the photonic engine(deep fusion) do over process and increse the clarity and make over contrasty photo. It is much worst.. Before taking the photo in viewfinder shows good results. The over processing ruined the photo.

Well looking at the whole image, the sea, the background and the sky I felt that was better with the Honor. Samsung sky full of noise and artifacts can't exactly get the win there. Or their Purple skies.
Unless you are doing portrait, it's about the whole photo. When an artist paints a picture they will not paint the background inferior and the subject superior.

You can barely see nothing at the bar. It's on the shadow, but seems in the middle of the forest at 3am
There will be a major update for the S24 Ultra camera in August. I'm not saying this will change everything but hey...
Hopefully it's out it's rumored right? But then I might redo the test with the iPhone 16 Pro max in September.

Samsung and iPhone have not improved much the last 2 years. Myself still use Samsung S22 Ultra because the new one is close to the same level and not worth the money for me. Maybe Samsung S25 Ultra will be woth it, hope they can put in bigger sensors in their phone so they improve theip poor low light preformance. The main camera should have 1 inch sensor as both Xiami and Vivo have it.

For the money Honor all day every day. Only loses in some situations in zoom against the Iphone and Samsung. And it has a more resistant screen and a longer lasting battery than the other two. For the money, Honor baby.

I agree, back to my Pixel 8 Pro. Those denying the S24U underwhelming camera performance are Samsung superfine apologists. I understand that it was the first year of the 5X zoom, that the 3X zoom is ancient and that the 200mp primary has never really lived up to the hype, but Samsung needs to do a lot of work for the S25U.
No idea how can Magic 6 Pro tops the DxoMark chart.. clearly it lacks a lot in telephoto/periscope zoom area.. they should put 3.5x lens instead, which is arguably good for potrait + zoom, and with that 200mp (180mp), we can good hybrid 5x 10x & above pic/video.. look at how good the X100 Ultra is (with the same concept).. if we really need 2.5x, just digital zoom it with the already good big main 50mp lens

As i own Honor Magic 6 pro, i can say it doesn't have the best real color science, but definitely if you want to publish a Photo on social media, u'll always select the Honor Photo, for example at this image @7:34 Honor didn't win the quality, but if you gonna publish one of those 3 image's on social media i bet u'll chose the Honor 😅 it's very interesting like it's already edited.
I agree with your findings there. Well this is probably the last time I do a follow up repeat comparison as there seems to be no interest.

Honor has good video but overexposes a lot the images, Samsung and Apple have much better image and stabilization.
I don't use camera but I can definitely say that my honor magic 6 pro is way better than my s24 ultra it feal lighter and easier to hold it's cheaper it's smoother it has a much better battery and charging speed and I can tell watching that it has better cameras

Video and zoom yes. But as a phone it's battery life, screen and features for the price Iike it. And the main camera has a super fast focus.
