With the custom firmware would you be willing to test final fantasy VIII and the like. Saw a review (admittedly for a pre release unit) that had some issues. Just curious to see if it works better on the custom firm ware.
Newer android phones are starting to be able to emulate it decently, but if you mean budget devices like this, then you'll have to wait 5-10 more years
Just curious. You pulled the internal as to flash new firmware. Can you increase the internal storage and flash the firmware on say a 128 sd card. What are the limitations
Glad to see a video with the custom firmware. I watched ETA Prime's video yesterday and was disappointed to see him showing it off with stock firmware when the PS1 performance was so poor. I've got the retrogame RS-97 and it has been a great device minus a few drawbacks with the controls (shoulder buttons) and not being able to handle SNES SuperFX games. The RS-97 was really underwhelming from the factory, but it only takes 10 minutes to open it up and flash the firmware. It's a very small amount of effort for a huge payoff in the quality of the gaming experience. Going to a custom firmware is an absolute must on these devices. After seeing your video I may just have to bite the bullet on one of these new RG350s for Christmas. There are so many great PS1 games that I haven't revisited since I was a kid.
Yeah, it's a little strange however, it's good for vertical shooters so you can turn the device sideways and the buttons are in the correct place and probably makes playing WonderSwan games enjoyable.

@Madlittlepixel I believe the HDMI hasn’t been implemented yet since the build branches off from the GCW device wherein it was never implemented. The Dingoonity forums have been my go-to place for these discussions. If the RG-350 gains enough support from the volunteer devs then it might have more of a chance of getting HDMI output than the GCW Zero had. I remember they postponed HDMI on the GCW as they wanted a stable build suitable for the large userbase, and didn’t want to half-ass it. Great devs imo.

Nice vid man. So far i think is the best handheld of this kind yet. I would personally prefer the D-Pad on the top left and the analog down since most of the games this thing run where designed with D pads in mind
Seems like a lot of people agree with you. I always find it easier to have the d-pad below the analog so I don't have to try and reach over the analog.
The reason HDMI isn't working is that the firmware is based off the GCWzero. It had an HDMI port as well, but was never implemented. Hopefully it will be in the future.

How do you do the custom flash on it? I'm looking to buy one but need to know how to do that
Johannes Krauser 2 - ETA Prime has a video guide
Where can i get ROM 9f classic games ?? PS1, N64, NSES, GBA
I've finally bought one, but a thought occurs to me: if they can make the expansion slot externally accessible why not the slot for the card that stores the firmware too? That way we wouldn't have to worry about carefully removing the case because of batteries glued in place, shoulder buttons falling out of place or difficulties in actually getting the micro SD card out to start with.
are these games uploaded to the console? do you need to download them?
I just received mine in the mail today and every time I try to play a Arcade game he gives me the notification that I don’t own the copyrights and won’t let me play it what the hell
It won't load none of my roms
Does anyone know how to change the brightness of the screen? I don't see any settings option for this
Hold down the power button while pressing volume up and down
Recommend this or GPi case?
And a newbie question: cant i install the custom firmware on a new SD card? - why on the original?
yep, best to use a new card too. keep original as backup.
