Good method of getting the rig back to the surface. I thought the Ling was going to make off wit the bait in the first few minutes. Always fascinated to watch the fish feeding habits, I would have no doubt lifted into many of the bites before the fish had fully committed o the bait. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for a great idea for recovering something heavy that doesn't have a chain in front of the load to act as a counterweight - like on the Alderney anchor recovery system. Should work well for a hobby lobster pot👍 What is that gizmo called?

@@anotherangleUK Mackerel are tied on with 200lb mono. Have had Spurdogs taking the bait in the past!
