It does seem like you should at least wait for every ball moving to fully stop though. Weird rule. I'd change it to once all balls in motion stop, that's the proper end of the shot, then count another 5 seconds.

Just imagine a hard stun shot where the cue ball immediately stops where the object ball was hit, it would probably stop moving before the object ball even rattles the first jaw. Or take a normal shot, where the cue ball is travelling maybe 2 more seconds after contact with the object ball. It would be unfair to the player not to count that potted ball because the cue ball stopped moving that quick, probably that exact kind of shot was required in that situation.

Does Sir Ronald of the Sullivan clan ever apologise, he tends to look more annoyed than when he just misses though. I don't think i have seen him hold his hand up.
He normally apologize on almost every fluke...and to this clip he played the next shot carelessly missed a easy plant and gave the chance to his opponent

Rules state of red stops momentary over pocket and then drops it is pocketed.
