Man, 2004. I was turning 15 that year. I remember actually liking this movie. Now I look back on it as a 33 year old adult, and I have to go "what the fuck was wrong with me?"

Back when I was younger I had this movie on those white DVD’s in that plastic “case” with the movie poster on it that hustlers sold in Laundromats and McDonald’s.
I got my copy from the barbershop when it was still in theatres. The WORST bootleg I've ever seen.

I remember going to see this with a group of friends(I was the only black person), and even 16 year old me had enough sense to walk out on this bullshit. I still to this day haven't watched passed the fried chicken scene.

I haven't even watched it to the title opening. I saw the trailer with an airplane with hydraulics and noped out because I knew it was going to be lazy comedy full of some ol' bullshit.
Now we ALL love Billy's laugh. It's hilarious. But Martin's laugh? Especially at 36:02? It's perfection. It's the equivalent of dark chocolate on your taste buds. Euphoria.

I remember when I saw the trailer for this movie back in 2004. I knew this movie was going to be some trash and i didn't have no reason or desire to see it. Kevin Hart plays a black stereotype in pretty much every movie he's a loud obnoxious character who never shuts up.

Remember that episode of The Simpsons when Homer gets the crayon out of his brain and gets smart, then goes to the theater to see everyone laughing at a movie for idiots? Soul Plane is basically that movie in a nutshell.

I never knew Sophia Vergara was in the movie. (Of course, she wasn't a superstar yet.)

The was the last movie I ever rented on VHS from Blockbuster Video before the DVD format popped off. I glanced at the safety tab and there was a piece of scotch tape applied on it. It looked like someone was tempted to erase it. It was that bad - but Terry Crews shined on it though. The movie itself gained significance over the years because a lot of the actors in it have found mainstream success later on - which was ironic.
