Limiting danger line, it's basically line plotted by us around dangers so that we get a alarm when our safety frames touch to those lines....it's warns navigator of the danger
Tqu sir urs respect urs work in situation we in home and learning online but due to u we are covering little idea about practically we expect more videos from u sir 🙏🙏🙏🙏 love 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳
Thank you, this is a nice video. I have one concern in case the vessel would be navigating the depth 16m, the vessel will navigate outside of LDL(Limiting Danger Line) , but the vessel should navigate within the safety contour (20m), which is the border of the non-navigable area and Navigable area. It is conflict. And the anti-ground cone will keep alarmed during navigating with the safety contour(20m), even if the vessel is navigating 16m with safe. I thought it would be good that the safety depth keeps at 15m, but the safety contour can be moved to 10 m, and then drawing the LDL to distinguish between safe water and unsafe water around 15m exactly by LDL rather keep safety contour setting 15m, ,which is actually 20m in the ENC. Then the vessel can be alarmed only when the crossing real danger area of LDL. Now I am wondering how I should understand. Appreciate it if you would give me your idea for this case.
With your question I assume you are speaking about ecdis 2 shades, well, you can never set a value of safety contour which is less than your draft, keeping the safety contour as 10m where you draft is 11m is of no use, vessel will get aground very soon before you receive the alarm. Thus we cannot set the value as 10m, and if we set the safety contour value as 15m than all the area under 20m contour will be highlighted which is good for a navigator to assess situation well in advance rather than ecdis alarming you after you are aground at 10m. Talking about safety depth, as we know it will highlight all the values below what we set, thus marking LDL becomes easy and quick for passage planning. If you wish to mark LDLs after inserting 10m as safety contour than as a 2nd officer your workload will increase and your ecdis will be full of LDLs making it a cluttered ENC. Thus that is not practised.
Thank you very much. I am just wondering and struggling with the observation from the inspector, which there is some option for this for the guideline of industry (Link below from OCIMF) You can download free of this. In Section 4.2.5 Identification of safe water (Scenario B: Appropriate safety contour not available - Method 1), there are some pros and cons. The inspector has been insisting on this. Anyway, it is nice to share the information and a very nice vidio. Appreciated.
@@kanetomori681 yes my video circulates around the concept as in pdf, I have shortened and made it more simplified version for users to understand easily. Thanks for sharing the pdf. 😊
The table which I was using is my company policy, its different for different company, if u still want it than mail me on my email as mentioned on the cover of my channel
LDL stands for limiting danger line, they are basically lines which gives alarm when the safety frame/ safety sector of a ship or when a ship passes through that line. Used to mark NO GO areas to give alarm when a user is passing through it.
I know squat to calculate,10•\• of the draft,v^2÷100,0.3metres for every 5knots .its calculated by this method. Or any other method.can you pls explain sir
I just want to confirm when we cross the safety contour it will give warning and alarm will come only we cross the spot sounding less then safety contour
Any doubt feel free to comment below 🔥❤️

Is it possible to adjust the safety depth together with the safety contour?
Adjust means manipulating values ???

Safety contour will give alarm, spot sounding has to be marked with LDL to get alarm
Max squat is intended for the full sea speed or for the planned speed on the leg?
Plannned speed of leg
Can I request sir for the procedures to avoid contamination in ballast
