- Today we are excited to talk about and put to the test Erick Winkowski's 10.34 x 30.54 ‘BIRDCAGE' Pro Model Deck! Wink's latest Pro Model features Artwork by our friend Thomas Fernández aka Live Rad Studios based on an original drawing by Erick himself! If you do not grab this one to shred, be sure to grab one to spice up the walls at home! We put Santa Cruz Skateboards Brand Manager Andrew Cannon to the test with some good old fashioned skateboarding to find out how this setup skates. Finally people are realizing the benefits of an old school type of board with new school technology. Thank you Winkowski and Andy Anderson for having something other than a small popsicle
That shape has me addicted, I have other shapes and popsicle sizes too, but I keep going back to my winkowski dope planet cruz missile, it is the comfort zone, not a longboard, or a penny or pops, but the old cruiser with the new concave
@@slimfixer3479 the Roskopp Face decks are pretty cool too but I agree, my saints and sinners creature Winkowski is like my dream board. I put purple and green LED wheels on it and not only do I get a lot of complements on how it looks but everyone seems to like the feel of the board too.
I’m on my third Winkowski board and i just hope you never stop making this deck!

Mind blown! I thought that this deck would be set up with Indy 159s. I wonder what the measurements are at the truck bolts for this deck? Thanks guys for this video. Very helpful.
Yeah i would think 159's would be better with this board too.I wish the deck had a 15.5 wheelbase.

Just managed to get one of these, old skool shapes for and older skool skater. Question on the trucks, vid is 149, I presume 159s should be good to roll on to too. I guess it’s personal pref.

To whoever reads this at Santa Cruz. Please send a load of these boards over to the UK so we don’t have to pay through the nose for it through 3rd party sellers instead of our local skate shop.

Just got this deck a month ago. I'm riding 169s and 60mm slimeballs. Kinda of a boat with the large trucks but very stable for transition. I'm sure if I went down to 149s it would be more nimble but I like to see my wheels when I'm looking down.
I’ve ordered this deck and need new trucks to accompany it, I was under the impression I would need Indy 215’s since it’s 10”. Is this not the case?
@@Steeze47 215s are ultra wide. Good for slappys and hill bombing but not much else. You'll start losing flips and shuvs past 169s. The shorter your trucks, the flippier your board.
anything is possible on anything. i probably wouldnt ride 149s on a 10.3 tho thats a lil silly.
I have a set of 159s I’m going to use these when it arrives.

how do you adjust your bushings,really hard,hard,loose or really loose. i weigh 80kg and i like my trucks stiff. i use independent 96 super hard bushings. the yellow ones

I found one sitting at a local shop a few weeks ago. You gotta go to the underground shops where kids just go for new popsicles not the old school shapes. Found a natural Chinese dragon by Powell which I’m hanging up and skating the bird instead

Check eBay again I saw people lowering the price because I guess it wasn’t selling fast enough. I saw one for 90 before shipping
