Unfortunately, I'm doing this on the ground using jack stands. Job from hell! I strongly do not recommend this way. Now I have a 2011, with 198,000kms. I can't get the ball joints off. Castle nut is seized. Tried everything, a hammer, a pick, bar. Unfortunately the 19mm wrench did not cut it. So out comes the ''Bezel'' (cutter). Hacked off the nut. Still won't move. Tried the ''pitch fork'' approach...nada. With a 198,000 on the clock , I am tempted at simply replacing the knuckle and the hub/bearing, to get rid of the ball joint. Other than heat (torch) any recommendations?
Hello i have a question for you my friend. I have recently charged the big bush inside this arm on my toyota avensis diesel here in the United Kingdom. However For some reason the two big 24mm bolts are getting loose after few days driving. Its driving me nuts as i use jacket stands to go underneath the car and it's a very painful exercise. Somebody said there should be a slight play in the bush if you inserting a new bush and they have also suggested that i should remove the bushes clean them with wire brush and reinsert them with thread lock on them.
Hello sir, watching from Toronto. How much the cost of front control arm for touota RAV4 for 2017 if we buy? I went to toyota dealer and they told me we need to replace but the cost is 1835+ tax
This is very helpful. Easy enough to raise the engine up a bit. I think easier than lowering the whole subframe? Thanks!

@@mumtazzafar5696 I will recommend replacing the bolts and the nuts. You might have a problem with the threads.

I will suggest buying from your local parts store or online
Cut the bolt from the edge
you didn't have to lift the engine
