Dontnod at least respected both endings, they even gave us max and chloe together, in the true Spirit of the bay ending, decknine talks about respecting the rules, but seperate them. But lets look at sport, f1 for example, they have rules on how to built a car, they need to respect thouse rules, someone built a rear Wing who was perfectly legale but did go against the spirit of racing because it made the cars behind slower because it screwed around with the airflow behind the car. So it got banned, same here, they are in the rules technicly chloes alive, but they did go against the spirit of thouse rules with seperating them and not letting them be together like the bae ending emplied, the ending is basicly worthless like every other lis game now. They talk about respecting our choice while going against the spirit of the choice, and yeah thats a real thing who exists like i explained with the banned rear wing. They could just say shes with david but everything looks like that they really seperated them for good for some reason

I think people aren't primarily interested in the canon, the endings or different timelines. It's about seeing a beloved character again and experiencing what happens next. The best example is "The Witcher". There you keep meeting old companions like Roche, Triss, Vesemir etc. After all, it's a sequel and if at the end only Max is left without Warren, Kate, Chloe etc. Don't get me wrong, I love Max and you can introduce new characters but I would still feel like something was missing if they were only mentioned. I was thinking the same thing, especially since it's based around similar circumstances. Realistically, Chole would be the first person that would not only understand Immediately, but to be involved without a doubt. Plus, most LiS fans love chole and max, so to only have her as a cameo would not be disappointing, already having in-depth history and character building, but a bit of a letdown from your previous choices.
I will revolt of they decanonize max and chlose as a couple for me thats a gamebreaker for me. They are the best most iconic gay ride or die couple in honestly any medium history.
@neisha._433 There's no way that would happen, in my opinion. Especially taking into account everything they went through in the years after the game ending, in the sequel comic series, which ended with them canonically together as a couple, living back in the rebuilt Arcadia Bay.
While I do agree with you not having her at all would be disappointing, this is Max’s story, not Chloe’s. It isn’t unrealistic for couples to be apart for extended periods of time for things like schooling, work, family, etc.
I'm super excited to play double exposure. The gameplay reveal was awesome😊 I can't wait to see what happens in Lis double exposure if you saved Chloe at the end of Lis 1🦋 I really want to see Chloe again.
If Chloe is alive, she and Max probably went their separate ways. I can't imagine Chloe will physically appear in this game. I think that picture is the only time you'll "see" her.
Even so, the fact that she's acknowledged at all is a good sign as she is such a pivotal part of Max's story. We'll see how Deck Nine chooses to handle both endings in due time!

I think they’re going to do something with Chloe. The devs know how integral Chloe is to Max and how much we all love her and Max’s relationship, they’re definitely not showing all their cards yet.

@@jasonbourne4784the same as LIS1? hardly because max's powers have evolved and she is clearly dealing with leftover trauma from the events of LIS1 also i doubt there is going to be a storm in this game (nobody complains when a detective sequel features another murder mystery or when james bond gets sent on another spy mission as the plot of a 007 film) plus this game is about her using her evolved power to solve two versions of the same mystery in two timelines which is different enough from solving one murder by rewinding time and in the process creating more alternate timelines than she intended to (plus max the freakin time warrior is back and we'll likely get a flashback scene or something with chloe in it and that right there is reason enough to be excited)

In the Lis: before the storm - bonus episode titled 'farewell', at the ending Chloe listens to an audio tape recording, hinting that future Max recorded that audio tape. Hinting that Max will time travel one last time to fix the ending
So would this mean LiS 2 isn’t canon with the first one? Because you can either hear how losing Chloe caused David to leave, or Chloe’s mom died and they seem to repair their relationship and Max & Chloe stay in contact with him. And the picture he has of them Chloe has GREEN hair, not blue anymore 🙃 Do we get to hear from David is we chose Bae?? I’m still hopeful because I’ve wanted to play as Max again for so long, but I’m not sure it will connect as seamlessly as they’re making it seem.
I am starting to see that people only want to see Max when she is with Chloe, as if Max is not good enough as her own character and I think otherwise, I think Max is one of my favorite characters in the whole franchise. But that is slightly because my mother is a photographer too.

I don’t think that’s why, Max is an amazing character and the literal fan favorite protagonist of the series and will forever be goated. The problem is people want to see a deeper dive into Max & Chloe’s relationship because we didn’t get enough of that in the original LIS.

October just can not get here fast enough! i was already hyped enough over the fact that we get Silent Hill 2's remake this october but now we're getting a new Life Is Strange game that features max again in the same month (this october is going to be beyond amazing) i'm ever so slightly disappointed that the story of the LIS comic book series can no longer be completely connected to the "save chloe timeline" but thats okay because Double Exposure is going to be awesome either way and besides that just means theres technically two "save chloe" timelines now one of which is connected to the comic series
I've done both endings but my first playthrough is going to be the save the Bay ending... It was my first decision, so it'll be where I continue for Max... and I think the parts concerning Chloe are going to hit MUCH harder if her being alive will be the alternate reality spin. If Max "splits" and goes into the different reality and gets a call from Chloe for instance, that shit'll break me if Max freaks out.
As someone who chose the Bay on my first playthrough, I REALLY hope Chloe and Max will still be together if you chose the Bae ending, considering it would invalidate your choices otherwise. I’ve seen a great comment about that: Not having them together in the Bae ending just to tell a story without Chloe is like having the storm still appear in the Bay ending just to tell a story about the destroyed town. But to make it clear, I’m not *too* worried so far - after all, there’s no chance they would show a massive spoiler like Chloe returning, so I’m optimistic she’ll be shown eventually. Only the new romance options make me kinda doubtful, considering it wouldn’t make any sense for them to exist in the Bae timeline if Chloe returns … but maybe Alternate Max is simply in a relationship with someone and has to find a way to break up? XD Okay, that sounds ridiculous, but I’d rather have that for Bae fans than having Max and Chloe separated :)

All of characters in this New lis game are quite familiar, I think they are the characters in the comics or just same design(there are some new characters though). I Bet chloe will be not in this game due to the event afterwards from comics. I know people said its not canon But its feels like its connected though. The reason why Chloe will not be in this game its because Max decide to go into an Photo expedition While Chloe was left behind to master her sculpture art, They still keep in touch through text or call. Also I think safi met chloe and know about her already before But on the timeline where max travel Safi didn't know or meet chloe Its made me think that The event from the comics didn't happened on this timeline. Also one last thing I think Victoria Chase will be in this game. Thats my theory.
The first game was centered around their relationship, be it platonic or romantic-the very crux of the story is Max's bond with Chloe. If you chose to save her, I'd like to think they wouldn't have parted ways... Especially when you consider what David says about Max and Chloe, and his call with Chloe, in LiS2. It would kinda suck to find out they've broken up/parted ways, considering if the game adds in new romance options (like every game seems to) they'd need Max to be single I don't know a single thing about this game other than this, didn't watch the trailer or whatever so idk why Max is in this location, but my personal hope would be that they'd have an option at some point where Max can decline any romance route and say she and Chloe are long distance, or say they'd taken a break while being in different places for career reasons or something and for whatever romance route they have you can choose to wait for Chloe and plan to rekindle
Something people don't talk about enough is that if you let Chloe just die then 1 I don't think you keep your powers and 2 I think Kate dies no matter what because you'd need rewind to save her effectively and if shes in the hospital then the storm got her
I hope those options are "were" because it's the Arcadia Bay ending. My opinion is that the best way to handle this would be: 1. Sure, they can be broken up (the weight of what happened could be too much for a relationship) 2. They can still be together (Chloe is somewhere else at the moment, visiting David, getting a degree, I don't know) 3. They broke up, giving the chance to pursue Safi 4.They broke up, don't go for Safi and Max in the end realizes she wants to get back together with Chloe I feel like that would give the options to everyone about the story and respecting the choices they made in the first game Also, I do hope we get mention of other characters, maybe still friends like Kate or Victoria or Warren

Double Exposure: spoiler Here is my new theory. Mark Jefferson is the good guy, he's a hero. He likely got hired by the Prescotts to kill the time traveler who will destroy Arcadia Bay. A hint can be found in a deleted audio recording where Nathan screams: "listen to me, i'm not crazy, the storm will come", hinting that Nathan had time travel powers. So the prescotts new about the storm and likely hired Jefferson. Life is Strange 4 comes out in October, and is a sequel where Max and Chloe live on after they destroyed Arcadia Bay
The facial animation is at least on point. One of the things that annoyed me with the old games was that the most serious and intense moments were undercut at times by the very stiff animations. And this kind of stuff matters when you want a character to truly express the entire range of emotions that our face can show to indicate how we feel. I expect nothing less than for Max to bawl her eyes out at Safi's death, because whether they're in a relationship or simply best friends, she's already gone through that kind of experience once. And hopefully the better graphics, new engine and animations will perfectly convey all those emotions.
I think that in the timeline where chloe is alive sofi is murdered (scarified the bay in lis1) meanwhile that timeline where she went to safe sofi that timeline chloe is dead (sacrificed chloe in lis1)
I think they made it clear in LiS2 that the canon ending was destroying the town, but ok cool, i want to see how they work it, maybe the game is just going to ask you at the beginning
My guess is the story is mostly neutral to both endings but get maybe texts from Chloe if you chose her. No matter which ending you chose it is going to be traumatic and Max would want to dissociate.

When I played lis I really liked the friendship between Max and Chloe like Chloe is a piece of a disaster I felt like she could ruin everything for entertainment and Max is not that kind of person but she would ruin everything just because her best friend would And that friendship was literally perfect I loved Chloe even though I hate that kind of people
I'm impressed how many people are so invested in the story. I feel the ship has sailed and this franchise is old news. This game is 7 years overdue. The fanbase who were day one people are all likely in their early 30s now. This just doesn't hit the same.
If you choose to save Bae I’m pretty sure he died, he was in the diner with Chloe’s mom, and that’s why she died. David is one of the only townspeople to survive the storm because he was in the creepy photo room dungeon. If you chose to save the Bay, none of the choices you made happened in her current reality.
I'm sorry but wanting to respect both endings means that none of what happens in either ending is going to be addressed properly... there can't be any mention of Arcadia Bay being destroyed or Chloe being dead/alive, becuase that wouldn't be true for all the players. They can't bring Chloe back because that would invalidate the choice of those who sacrificed her. At the same time, to me, who chose to save Chloe, a storyline where her and Max aren't together (romantically or not) is a big disappointment. And I don't care if it's realistic or whatever.. this is fiction, and besides, the core of LiS1 was the depth of Max and Chloe's bond. If Chloe is alive, there is no way in hell they would be apart. It just doesn't make any sense to me 😭
Is Double Exposure made by DONTNOD? Because the Remastered stuff that Deck Nine put out was a dumpster fire considering they made it from the flawed mobile port instead of the original. If Deck Nine is going to cut corners, why should I spend money on their stuff?

@neisha._433 There's no way that would happen, in my opinion. Especially taking into account everything they went through in the years after the game ending, in the sequel comic series, which ended with them canonically together as a couple, living back in the rebuilt Arcadia Bay.
While I do agree with you not having her at all would be disappointing, this is Max’s story, not Chloe’s. It isn’t unrealistic for couples to be apart for extended periods of time for things like schooling, work, family, etc.
I'm super excited to play double exposure. The gameplay reveal was awesome😊 I can't wait to see what happens in Lis double exposure if you saved Chloe at the end of Lis 1🦋 I really want to see Chloe again.
If Chloe is alive, she and Max probably went their separate ways. I can't imagine Chloe will physically appear in this game. I think that picture is the only time you'll "see" her.
Even so, the fact that she's acknowledged at all is a good sign as she is such a pivotal part of Max's story. We'll see how Deck Nine chooses to handle both endings in due time!

@@jasonbourne4784the same as LIS1? hardly because max's powers have evolved and she is clearly dealing with leftover trauma from the events of LIS1 also i doubt there is going to be a storm in this game (nobody complains when a detective sequel features another murder mystery or when james bond gets sent on another spy mission as the plot of a 007 film) plus this game is about her using her evolved power to solve two versions of the same mystery in two timelines which is different enough from solving one murder by rewinding time and in the process creating more alternate timelines than she intended to (plus max the freakin time warrior is back and we'll likely get a flashback scene or something with chloe in it and that right there is reason enough to be excited)

I can already see choices not mattering at all again, which is sad. i wish they had the balls to make a game where choices actually have an impact on the outcome of the game, like actual story paths like in detroit become human and not just 2 different endings.

In the Lis: before the storm - bonus episode titled 'farewell', at the ending Chloe listens to an audio tape recording, hinting that future Max recorded that audio tape. Hinting that Max will time travel one last time to fix the ending
So would this mean LiS 2 isn’t canon with the first one? Because you can either hear how losing Chloe caused David to leave, or Chloe’s mom died and they seem to repair their relationship and Max & Chloe stay in contact with him. And the picture he has of them Chloe has GREEN hair, not blue anymore 🙃

I am starting to see that people only want to see Max when she is with Chloe, as if Max is not good enough as her own character and I think otherwise, I think Max is one of my favorite characters in the whole franchise. But that is slightly because my mother is a photographer too.

I don’t think that’s why, Max is an amazing character and the literal fan favorite protagonist of the series and will forever be goated. The problem is people want to see a deeper dive into Max & Chloe’s relationship because we didn’t get enough of that in the original LIS.

October just can not get here fast enough! i was already hyped enough over the fact that we get Silent Hill 2's remake this october but now we're getting a new Life Is Strange game that features max again in the same month (this october is going to be beyond amazing) i'm ever so slightly disappointed that the story of the LIS comic book series can no longer be completely connected to the "save chloe timeline" but thats okay because Double Exposure is going to be awesome either way and besides that just means theres technically two "save chloe" timelines now one of which is connected to the comic series
I've done both endings but my first playthrough is going to be the save the Bay ending... It was my first decision, so it'll be where I continue for Max... and I think the parts concerning Chloe are going to hit MUCH harder if her being alive will be the alternate reality spin. If Max "splits" and goes into the different reality and gets a call from Chloe for instance, that shit'll break me if Max freaks out.

As someone who chose the Bay on my first playthrough, I REALLY hope Chloe and Max will still be together if you chose the Bae ending, considering it would invalidate your choices otherwise. I’ve seen a great comment about that: Not having them together in the Bae ending just to tell a story without Chloe is like having the storm still appear in the Bay ending just to tell a story about the destroyed town.
But to make it clear, I’m not *too* worried so far - after all, there’s no chance they would show a massive spoiler like Chloe returning, so I’m optimistic she’ll be shown eventually. Only the new romance options make me kinda doubtful, considering it wouldn’t make any sense for them to exist in the Bae timeline if Chloe returns … but maybe Alternate Max is simply in a relationship with someone and has to find a way to break up? XD Okay, that sounds ridiculous, but I’d rather have that for Bae fans than having Max and Chloe separated :)
I can't wait for play this game, I hope that Chloe will appear in the game at least for a while, maybe as a game in the memory, I don't know but I'm glad that at least she is Mentioned in this game somehow.

All of characters in this New lis game are quite familiar, I think they are the characters in the comics or just same design(there are some new characters though). I Bet chloe will be not in this game due to the event afterwards from comics. I know people said its not canon But its feels like its connected though. The reason why Chloe will not be in this game its because Max decide to go into an Photo expedition While Chloe was left behind to master her sculpture art, They still keep in touch through text or call. Also I think safi met chloe and know about her already before But on the timeline where max travel Safi didn't know or meet chloe Its made me think that The event from the comics didn't happened on this timeline. Also one last thing I think Victoria Chase will be in this game. Thats my theory.

The first game was centered around their relationship, be it platonic or romantic-the very crux of the story is Max's bond with Chloe. If you chose to save her, I'd like to think they wouldn't have parted ways... Especially when you consider what David says about Max and Chloe, and his call with Chloe, in LiS2. It would kinda suck to find out they've broken up/parted ways, considering if the game adds in new romance options (like every game seems to) they'd need Max to be single
I don't know a single thing about this game other than this, didn't watch the trailer or whatever so idk why Max is in this location, but my personal hope would be that they'd have an option at some point where Max can decline any romance route and say she and Chloe are long distance, or say they'd taken a break while being in different places for career reasons or something and for whatever romance route they have you can choose to wait for Chloe and plan to rekindle

Something people don't talk about enough is that if you let Chloe just die then 1 I don't think you keep your powers and 2 I think Kate dies no matter what because you'd need rewind to save her effectively and if shes in the hospital then the storm got her
I hope those options are "were" because it's the Arcadia Bay ending. Look, honestly I love they're acknowledging both endings, that's important to me but if they're broken up even though you chose to save Chloe and a romantic relationship then I'm going to be heartbroken.
My opinion is that the best way to handle this would be:
1. Sure, they can be broken up (the weight of what happened could be too much for a relationship)
2. They can still be together (Chloe is somewhere else at the moment, visiting David, getting a degree, I don't know)
3. They broke up, giving the chance to pursue Safi
4.They broke up, don't go for Safi and Max in the end realizes she wants to get back together with Chloe
I feel like that would give the options to everyone about the story and respecting the choices they made in the first game
Also, I do hope we get mention of other characters, maybe still friends like Kate or Victoria or Warren

Here is my new theory. Mark Jefferson is the good guy, he's a hero. He likely got hired by the Prescotts to kill the time traveler who will destroy Arcadia Bay. A hint can be found in a deleted audio recording where Nathan screams: "listen to me, i'm not crazy, the storm will come", hinting that Nathan had time travel powers. So the prescotts new about the storm and likely hired Jefferson. Life is Strange 4 comes out in October, and is a sequel where Max and Chloe live on after they destroyed Arcadia Bay

The facial animation is at least on point. One of the things that annoyed me with the old games was that the most serious and intense moments were undercut at times by the very stiff animations. And this kind of stuff matters when you want a character to truly express the entire range of emotions that our face can show to indicate how we feel. I expect nothing less than for Max to bawl her eyes out at Safi's death, because whether they're in a relationship or simply best friends, she's already gone through that kind of experience once. And hopefully the better graphics, new engine and animations will perfectly convey all those emotions.
Nah Chloe is just on a concert tour with Steph and Chen. They would make a great band.

I think they made it clear in LiS2 that the canon ending was destroying the town, but ok cool, i want to see how they work it, maybe the game is just going to ask you at the beginning
My guess is the story is mostly neutral to both endings but get maybe texts from Chloe if you chose her. No matter which ending you chose it is going to be traumatic and Max would want to dissociate.

I'm sorry but wanting to respect both endings means that none of what happens in either ending is going to be addressed properly... there can't be any mention of Arcadia Bay being destroyed or Chloe being dead/alive, becuase that wouldn't be true for all the players. They can't bring Chloe back because that would invalidate the choice of those who sacrificed her. At the same time, to me, who chose to save Chloe, a storyline where her and Max aren't together (romantically or not) is a big disappointment. And I don't care if it's realistic or whatever.. this is fiction, and besides, the core of LiS1 was the depth of Max and Chloe's bond. If Chloe is alive, there is no way in hell they would be apart. It just doesn't make any sense to me 😭
Is Double Exposure made by DONTNOD? Because the Remastered stuff that Deck Nine put out was a dumpster fire considering they made it from the flawed mobile port instead of the original. If Deck Nine is going to cut corners, why should I spend money on their stuff?
