Ever since the introduction of boost sadly medium has gone down hill ever since. My friend who made 400+ usd last month and 300+ usd the month before is below 100 usd this month and I am below 65 usd this month. External traffic used to boost your internal views on medium not any more I tested this many times this does not work any more. So basiclaly you are totally 100 percent relying on the boost and to get the boost it is 5 times more difficult then to get in to curation which used to happen before march 2023. This is a huge issue people are trying to getinto huge publications like the startup I my self tried 5 times in last 2 months but each time got rejected without the editors telling me reason as to why. I hope some changes come on medium for the better though. Sadly even the medium mastodon feature is not fetching me any views or member read time so nothing is working really :(.
@@hudsonrenniewrites Well one thing we must do is stop writing about medium all together cause the boost team forget them these medium stories are getting 0 distribution confirmed from various sources now unlike before but this is menitoned in the February 2023 distribution guidelines from medium official help center. I feel the best way is to grow a medium paid members email list as this is the only way really and not rely on the boost. But I want to hear your thoughts on this one. Also I am shocked why are you seeing a dip in your medium earnings; shockingly some one told me that "Tom Kuegler" was talking about his dip on medium if pros like you guys are having issues then who am I to complain really especially when I did not put 100 percent effort on medium this month even :(.
I've created my own publication on Medium, but I don't know how to create a newsletter. When I write an article, how do I post it into the newsletter to only give readers a preview of the article, so they can click the read more button to go back to my publication to finish reading it.
Have you applied to become a writer for any? If you go on any publication's homepage, there should be an article called something like "write for us" or "how to apply" where you can apply to become a writer. Once they've added you as a writer, the publication will show up in the story composer. 🙂👏
It looks like they added a typeform in their submission guidelines article. So now, you need to write a story and submit the draft through the form. Let me know if you have more questions! 🙂🙌

Hey! I'm just seeing this now -- RUclips filtered it as spam. 😢 But to answer your questions: 1. Yes! Newsbreak highlights and share's writers articles on their homepage and across publications. What they push depends on how much early engagement the articles get and how long readers read the posts for. Medium curators will also push certain articles they like -- it's called being "boosted". 2. And, the best tip I can give is to engage with others on the platform to create a base of engagement and submit to publications to maximize your exposure. Aside from that, focus on headlines! 3. Finally, the last piece of advice I would give is to try to post consistently, at least once per week to start and write from a place of passion. Everything else will fall into place. Hey i just joined Illumination i filled the form Name Email And My Medium URL and i got recived a email from them which saying "Dr Mehmet Yildiz has invited you to work with them in Slack" I don't know what is slack and illumination not showing in my profile publications tab Can you please explain this mean?
Ah, yes. Slack is a communication app -- it's very popular in startups/workplaces. If you accept the invite, you can make a Slack account and then interact with other writers. You don't need to sign up though, if it doesn't interest you. 🙂🙌
Hello Can you please tell me if the fact that I have been invited to join Slack means that I have been accepted to submit a story to be considered to be published on Illumination? Because it doesn't appear in my publications when I go to publish.
Hmmm, if they invited you to the Slack channel it would mean you've been accepted. 🤔 I would give it one day, as perhaps they're a little behind. But, if you still don't see the publication show up in the "Add to Publication" tab, I would reach out to them. 🙂🙌

Tipping is just a way to show support to writers. You can turn it on for your profile in the settings section. And, you can search for publications. Most of them will have a pinned story called something like "submission guidelines" with specific instructions to apply. 🙂🙌@@KcMcclary

When you go to publish, there will be a box you can tick to "Send a link to your subscribers" -- this will send them a preview via email. 🙂🙌

For 99% of publications, yes. Mainly because you'll need to be a member to read submission guidelines and updates. ✍✅

Your stories won't show up on your own feed. Everyone's feed is different and based on their interests/reading behaviour. 🙂💻
