Absolutely buzzing that they chose this track to do a Shobaleader version of, it has some haunting beauty in it, and despite being played by a soft mallet instrument, the lead melody is ridiculously powerful. Banging rendition.
I would have never thought, that anyone would ever dare to cover this tune. Beautiful, just amazingly beautiful, I don't have words to describe it. well there you have it... it's Toms own band... I thought the bass was too spot on.
@@KNURKonesur yeah, a year ago I didn't know about Tom being part of this band, but deep inside my head I know that Tom was involved in some way. At that time I just hoped it doesn't happen like what happened with Jhonny Cash and the song Hurt.

I like this track a lot (though I prefer the original) but I struggle to get on board with the whole LED helmet-mystique thing. I think it is an unnecessary gimmick as I always thought Tom's music spoke for itself. Ultravisitor and Music is rotted one note are my top two favourite albums of all time - hands down - but, ever since hello everything, I've found myself liking less and less of his music. I respect his recent music more than I like it, since I respect his ceaseless motivation to do things differently and challenge himself. I would to hear the last thirty years come together into something mind-blowing.

Will we ever live to hear a Shobaleader One "Iambic 9 Poetry" though?
we wont.
But we got a remastered version of ultravisitor LAST WEEK

when you remember the fact that a version of this has been around for 18 years ....
It was about 17 years ago when this terrible kid named Sam stole my copy. The bastard.
@@dingobabystealer at least he had good taste in music ;)
I remember the faces from people that used to say "electronic music is all the same", but not anymore...
One of the most beautiful melodies that I've ever heard

This song and video combo is perfect. Such beautiful sorrow.
I once read a review that describe Tom Jenkison as harnessing the Beauty of a Death Star. ever since I can only hear a sweet despair in his work.
Why the HELL does this have so many dislikes? This song is incredible
Ivan N probably because This song originaly belongs to squarepusher, and they don't give any credit.
squarepusher is the bassplayer of the band - would be weird if he would give credit to himself
VieleWeltenXperiment didn't know that!
@@SimonSilvaLemarchand probably a lot of people don't know Tom is the creator of this band and think Shobaleader is stealing tunes from Tom...

should have gotten that ryan kid to do this video

Not bad at all. Still prefer SP Ufabulum mask. Like the guard helms in "Escape from NY" blast shield style
1:51 reference to Maximum Priest cover?
Good eye, but unlikely. Bokeh effects are commonplace.

Martin Cattell new album out in January sounds sick
@@@enneff Be Up a Hello is exactly what I was hoping for! Going to see him in October.
what the hell is Shobaleader? this is squarepushers track isn't it?
squarepushers band
Squid game before there were any squid games.
I love it, but keeping the tension high for so long devalues the original
I'm disappointed this is the only track the band has done like this cause it's bloody great
What do you mean by "like this"? They rework Squarepushers tunes and he didn't do many haunting ballads :p
"Unspoken" by Four Tet reminds me of this.
that Four Tet song should remind you of this song instead :)
Are these the guys from Squid Game??
Jaja! Goo'g\d'will'e'
First?
squid game xd
Teletubbies. Reboot
is this from squarepusher?
yes

0:01 stranger things font?
I don’t get why this was made?
Because Tom wanted to play his songs with a live band; Seems obvious to me?
Andrew Gerrand Really? Didn’t know it was Tom.
@@nailbiter82 Yep. I hope it's clear to you why this exists now :)
so it is just a cover of the original? okay....well that's a thing now, eh?
