People tend to underestimate the power increase you can get from precision technique. Inoue's punches are super smooth and all the timings in the various parts of the movement are very precise. He squeezes every drop of power he can get out of the movement and gets it exactly where it needs to go. Backed up by very precise training. He is a scarily precisely tuned machine.

I'll tell you something I noticed right from the start of this video. Naoya is much thicker than I would have imagined. Is a really wide shoulders and pretty thick legs for a light fighter. You kind of has like a UFC body but he's so so much better head striking than anybody in the UFC. Right now he's my favorite fighter. I like his manners and is dedication to the sport and his consistent great performances. When you box him you're not in a boxing match with him. He's boxing you and your surviving. Excellent video. Inoue reveals the importance of repetition in boxing training. He doesn't overcomplicate his training but most importantly he understands the importance of rest and listening to his body. He trains hard but only to be at his best. He doesn't destroy himself or see training as a means of punishing himself. He changes and adapts and keeps his training positive. His connection of the mental and physical is the mark of a great athlete. His training is like meditation for him. He is not a slave to his regime, he has confidence to rest and change when he feels tired. Laziness is seen as human and not a reason to complain, just adapt and change and smile again. Very intelligent athlete.

The reason behind his proficient body blows is the painful experience of breaking bones of his hand which happened a few times in the past due understandably to his excessively hard punch. It is rather difficult to break your hand when you hit the opponent's liver, unfortunately if you are at the receiving end.

You couldn't haven't chosen better examples of great training technique and skill development in boxing than Canelo, Inoue and Lomachenko. These 3, IMHO, are the top 3 fighters p4p in the ring today, and I'd give both Inoue and Loma the edge over Canelo. Not only have Inoue and Loma developed every skill you need to be a great fighter, but both fighters are the ultimate predators in the ring...more so than Canelo, I think, who doesn't quite have either man's speed and reflexes. It's that great skill and conditioning development, along with their fantastic predatory instincts and cleverness, that puts these two boxing wizards head and shoulders above everybody else in the ring. The way both Inoue and Loma stalk, catch, and tear apart their prey is what makes them so fascinating to watch. And Inoue, p4p, is the one of the most powerful punchers in boxing today. Given all that, he's #1 on my p4p list, with Loma 2nd and Canelo 3rd.

Yeah man, reminds me of roberto as well.
You know what both of them have in common?.
A strong and long torso with short stick like arms and short strong legs. And relatively wide shoulders that have grown a bit out of their body allowing them to move them easily within their sockets. They have no resitance when throwing punches, even when its a short arm punch its hard and effortless.
They are made for generating power.
I really think elite punchers ( guys whose punches just feel like bricks ) are mostly genetics. And the best of the best like duran and inoue have extremely good punching technique/high boxing iq which completes the kinetic chain and delivers maximum power to their opponents

I think his power also comes from his balance, like Timothy Bradley said, Inoue is always balance and can throw a punch at any position. If you have perfect balance you can really generate the full potential of your punch. Unlike Outboxers like Haney, floyd and Shakur they didn't have that power because they're too focus on the movement of their feet that they forgot to plant it and have a well balanced to throw a punch.

I know canelo Alvarez is everybody's favorite but I think i Inoue is the best fighter on the planet pound for pound. There's just nobody like him though there are some fantastic lower weight Japanese fighters. It seems like they're all monsters. But he's the biggest monster of them all. Videos great thank you

The Monster is not just a great boxer. He is a SMART BOXER. Inoue studied his first fight against Donaire. He knew Donaire’s left hook is dangerous. On second fight, Inoue confused Donaire on throwing almost left hand and with right hand protecting him from left hook of Donaire. Donaire did not made any adjustment and he fought the same style. Inoue’s adjustment ended the fight in 2 rounds with TKO.

I'm willing to bet that there's a secret that they're not giving away here. A secret to his incredibly devastating speed, power and precision.
I really like this boxer mostly because he's humble and not self opinionated, doesn't have attitude.

This back to basics approach is also what Mayweather does. Nothing fancy, just mitt work, bag work, pushups, pullups, ab wheel rollouts, dips, situps, running and jump rope.
We often fall in the trap of trying to over complicate things. But always remember this: The basics will ALWAYS work - even at the highest levels of any sport.

Old school boxing trainers have always been right - lifting weights makes you stiff aka it ducks with your fascia and hence interrupts your kinetic chain . Most important is to know how to generate power

The more Inoue goes up in weight the more fighters that can take his hits, he has decent boxing skills but it's not at par with the best in the upper weight divisions. I don't think his the second coming of Pac Man.

Some people are born ' heavy handed '...and Inoue is one of those..BUT then you add the velocity generate by the natural speed that he has, plus accuracy, then you have the ultimate in 'power' ..
