Damn, I've always had a soft spot for the '69-'73 Imperials, I had a '69 Imperial Crown and a '71 Imperial LeBaron, Sweet Landyatch Mopars, gotta love 'em!!!
That little fella could hear my voice every day I was there and would come by. Any time you see the camera refocus he was rubbing on the tripod. Thanks for watching!
GREAT JOB GETTING THE MOPAR GOING ,,.CHANGE ALL THE FLUIDS ,KEEP IT HEALTHY!!! FLIP LIGHTS WOW!!! .. GREAT DOG SEGER ,,GOOD NAME.. LUCKY YOU HAVE THIS CAR!!!! A BIG BOAT LIKE THIS GET REAL GET BRAKES !!!! THIS IS A REALLY NICE CAR!!! OFF THIS CHANNEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MY working rule is to change out EVERY rubber part under the hood every 10 years. Hoses, belts, and anything else like that is going to be a mess in a decade, so every 10 years, its best to replace it all.
Stunning car. They don't make them like that anymore, built to last and fun to drive. The old 440s were almost impossible to "blow up" a long with the 3speed automatic tranny. My parents had a 1972 Chrysler Town&Country New Yorker Station Wagon. We ran it till we wore it completely out. We made plenty of fast trips all across the country pulling a U-Haul trailer. In the mid to late 70's we stopped pulling trailers with it and used it as our daily driver until the late 1980's. Happy to see these cars being restored again.
It's in great shape all things considered and the 440 isn't hard to work on providing it doesn't have headers you want to use a zinc additive in the oil or just use shell Rotella it's a flat tappet engine so zinc is your friend.
New Subscriber #157 and we hit the bell, love Chrysler Imperials❤, sweet content awesome to see the cat helping out🤫🤣😂 Looking forward to seeing more👊 Merry Christmas 🤶🎅to you and your family and all the best for 2023👍 Cheers🍺🍻 KC Cradle Mountain Tasmania Australia 🇦🇺🇳🇿🤝🇺🇸🇺🇸😎👍
After sitting that long you should replace all the rubber flex lines on the brakes and rebuild or replace the wheel cylinders and I bet the master will need some rebuilding or replacing
That grille looks different.....Looks like somebody installed a grille over the factory grille.....Did it look like it was all "cobbled together" because it looks like it fit pretty well......Gotta love those Mopars.....My father has a "74 Imperial that my grandfather ordered brand new in "74.
I enjoyed the video. You may want to get a mic when you can, or move it a little closer to you when you do the wide shots. It got really hard to hear you at times when you were doing the wide shots. That is a beautiful car, and it is fantastic condition. My grandparents had an Imperial for a while. I think it was a '68. That car was awesome.
Thanks for the feedback, this was back in 2020 and I was learning - trail by fire. Working on getting better! Got plenty of looks, the 68s were great looking, it was a classic styled car. Thanks for watching!
I'm a big mopar guy and got to say the car looks good from being from the rust belt whoever owned it before it was parked looked they took care of it and never drove it in the winter now you need some spray nine or mean green and clean the mold off the interior and you will be ready to rock
It's not everyday that you find a FULL FRAME, REAR WHEEL DRIVE, 440 POWERED IMPERIAL IN PRETTY GOOD CONDITION. Without seeing it in person, idk? Any luck on the calliper situation maybe a rebuild kit or parts number reference to see if any nos parts are hiding anywhere? Look online & everywhere? Maybe junkyards?
I looked high and low that year for a drivers side front caliper, I wasn’t able to find anything in way of rebuild or replacement anywhere. Fortunately, I was able to sell it to a gentleman who planned on restoring it and he said he knew where he had a set of calipers that would be used. Thanks for watching!
are headlamp doors electric connected? .. should be a yellow decal on front radiator support with a circular arrow showing how to manually open/close the doors
Damn you really fired the parts cannon off on that one. I have got many cars going from sitting and 99.9 % of the time it don't need anything to run except to file the crap off the points and to hook up a tank with clean fuel and they will run. I bet you that car would of ran without replacing anything at all anyway I guess you gave it a tune up before you got it going but by the looks of that one plug you showed us it looks like it was running good when it was parked.
The plan from the beginning was to have a summer cruiser. I wanted to knock out the simple things while I was gonna be under the hood the first time. Less to do down the road. Thanks for watching!
Working on a 76 LeBaron right now. Hasn't been started or touched since 2001. The fuel smells so darn bad. Is the gas tank salvageable? Any tips would be appreciated. I have no clue what I'm doing honestly.
There’s always another vehicle to find and save. I sold this to a friend of mine who has spent most of his life finding and saving Mopars. I knew it’d be in good hands
Actually, it sat in a field for 15 years when it was parked. Then it got loaded by a skid loader onto a trailer and shoved inside for 12 years. The last oil change tag showed September of 93.
Stunning car. Sweet color combo. People search for years, high and low, to find a ride like this. Enjoy it!
It was a beauty! They don’t make em like they used to
@@torquealleygarage "was" you sold it?
Yes, a gentleman I met from Minnesota bought it to restore
@@torquealleygarage Is he gonna paint it back to it's original factory color?
I’m not 100% sure, I haven’t checked in with him in a long time
Damn, I've always had a soft spot for the '69-'73 Imperials, I had a '69 Imperial Crown and a '71 Imperial LeBaron, Sweet Landyatch Mopars, gotta love 'em!!!
That ‘69 Crown had beautiful interior options! They ride super smooth
Instant subscribe when the cat knocked over your camera in then first 20 seconds. Well done my man!
That little fella could hear my voice every day I was there and would come by. Any time you see the camera refocus he was rubbing on the tripod. Thanks for watching!
I subbed too, for the same reason! My favorite things are Mopars, cats, and boobs! Not necessarily in that order 🤣
And THAT folks is a land yacht!! Good video!
Thanks for the support! 👊🏻

If the plan was to daily drive, I’d have that same plan. New belts, hoses, etc

I never realized how many folks grew up with these old Mopars, it got tons of looks and smiles! Thanks for sharing your story and watching!

Surprisingly easy to work on besides the starter!
'tappet' somehow became a generic term for a lifter. it isn't a lifter. a tappet sits between a cam and the valve in a overhead cam motor.

Sweet cruiser dude!
Thanks buddy! She was an air carrier with 4 wheels
I guess , if I had a big family , it would be a sweet car .
It could haul a truck-load amount of pizza. Thanks for watching!
I'd love to be wearing shorts and a cut off t-shirt right now. It's 28 degrees and we just got 3 inches of snow this morning in Pa.
Same here, it’s -7° and 30mph winds with 4” of snow this morning. We can dream haha
@@torquealleygarage it's -6 and the wind-chill of -48 with wind and snow and ice
Same in Washington. The state, not the DC.

The grille was actually mounted to the support if I remember correctly, definitely not a hack job, I was impressed! Thanks for watching!
love the c bodies
A style like no other. Thanks for watching!
Nice big car
She was a solid unit for sure
Whatta machine! Ive had a bunch of C bodies, plus one 64 Imperial.
Thanks for watching! Love the big C bodies
@@torquealleygarage Technically, the Imperials weren't a C body, but from 69-73 they shared a lot!
Need to get the hideaway lights working
The covers were actually gone on this one, but I did a ton of research to see how they operate. Truly tech before it’s time! Thanks for watching!

Wish I could show some more interior pics, it was BEAUTIFUL
I would just upgrade the braking system with newer style of calipers , some custom work would be needed but you would have a modern system
Full upgrade was definitely needed. Thanks for watching!
Very nice lebaron
Sure is! Thanks for watching!
The crank you see is for the vent window
It worked well after a little wd40 thankfully! Thanks for watching!

I'm fairly sure Imperial had abandoned the full by this model year.
Yep it had subframe/front cradle. Super solid underneath.
are headlamp doors electric connected? .. should be a yellow decal on front radiator support with a circular arrow showing how to manually open/close the doors

Check out my Shorts on a gas tank cleaning. Plenty of methods to try out but the main hassle is getting the “gunk” out of the tank and lines!
I'm trying to figure out what car that grill comes from.
I had a hard time finding that out. Might be a 300 grille?
Love the old morpars, U can work on them.
First time tackling one, they are user friendly for a guy. Thanks for watching!
WOW BEAUTIFUL CAR!!! \( @.@)/
TOTALLY LOVE IT!!!
Thanks for watching!
is the interior black or blue?
Interior was blue
for sale where?
It was sold in ‘21 to a gentleman in Minnesota
Why did you sell the car?
There’s always another vehicle to find and save. I sold this to a friend of mine who has spent most of his life finding and saving Mopars. I knew it’d be in good hands
@@torquealleygarage That’s great. I’m glad the car went to a good home. I enjoyed the video.

SKOL
Go vikes!
If you find a 57-58 2 door Plymouth for sale let me know,IV been looking for a project one for years.
Will keep you on the list, thanks for watching!
I should hope so in that cond, not as though its been sitting in a field for 20 years with the windows down, simple.
Actually, it sat in a field for 15 years when it was parked. Then it got loaded by a skid loader onto a trailer and shoved inside for 12 years. The last oil change tag showed September of 93.
Next time u can't find parts for an older car, check "pep-boys". They had many parts for my old 68 dodge there. Including brake parts.
Thanks for the heads up! I’m not sure we have a Pep Boys around here but now I’ll have to remember that. Thanks for watching!
