Appreciate it, Andrew. There's one thing Ive also learned from an Irish entrepreneur Gary Fox who shared his approach of reading: 1. In the morning - 30 min of non-fiction, business related books; 2. In the evening - fiction or novels (to shut down a buzzing brain)
@@LiftOffLife Thanks but I know about this website. At one point, I was interested in developing Machiavellian traits, but it's hard for me to stick to a plan. If I stuck to all the plans I made about learning new skills, I'd be the most interesting man in the world.

You have to read books. The wisdom of men long dead for thousands of years are contained in books not Censortube. Books are the cheapest mentor. Reading Stoic philosophy is a good starter in changing your life.
IMO all the people who read a book in a week, they just read for the sake of putting this in their insta bio or something like "Read over 100 books this year. Greatness is coming" (trust me I've seen people do this 🤣) Right now I'm reading how to win friends and influence people by Dale Carnegie . I read each chapter twice. One is a quick read where I don't think or take notes on what I read and then the second read will be on the next day and I can easily grasp everything I read. SIDENOTE - It takes a bit of mental strain to have the discipline to go over the same chapter again.I also mark points and take notes on my phone. I actually KNOW this method will help people out. You can read 1000 books a year and still end up with less than 10 life lessons from all of it. You know why? Because we're all humans and we tend to forget.
I have at least 25 books I want to read. I have gotten them from Alibris, the shipping is quite often more expensive than the book itself! He is right! I used the planning the habit part for learning to code I said to myself that I would learn to code something everyday, it doesnt matter how long will it take, at 8pm, and it's been 1 month since i started, and the weird thing is that i planned all of this in my mind, i don't have anything related to this in paper, but it's still working cause i have a commitment, a place and an hour to do the habit, and the environment also helps.
Hello and realy good video Andrew. What i found realy helpfull to get the reading routine going for me was the miracle morning and the example in that book that if you read simply 10 pages a day it amounts to 3650 pages a year which amounts to a total of 12-15 books a year without breaking even a sweat. Cause every one can find the time and willpower to read 10 pages. Anyway i hope this example was helpfull. Thank you again Andrew . Keep up the good work . Your helping a lot of people.
You know that the publisher or author hire people to put 5 star reviews on their Amazon book? I read the 3 star and then 4 star to get the most honest feedback. And, you don't have to buy a book. Go to the library!! That's free. If they don't have the book you want, ask if they will order it.
Here’s another tip. I’d recommend going to you library and read books that seem interesting off the shelf. If you like the first chapter, borrow it. Libraries are affordable and incentives reading.
If I haven't read in a while, I always get back into the swing of it by reading Game of Thrones or Lord of The Rings. Before I start, I am slow at reading, after my reading speed improves massively. Now when I get to a self help book it is much easier for me
You have inspired and encouraged me with your clear summaries of many of the topics I have listen to and read for years. When you shared that the connections reinforces the brain processing info was awesome to validate my years of interests. Also seeing the transformation you have experienced it showed clearly from climbing in the window clearly intense and brilliant but wow look at the focus and how you have grounded and transformed your life. I am very grateful for you.
Andrew, my name is Hua. I'm a fan of your work and videos, good tip on the Amazon reviews. I have a huge archive of ebooks 1+ million of them. Do contact me when you need any ebooks. How do we get in touch?
I usually just read 10 pages every night before I allow myself to sleep, it's nice because I have a dedicated time and place to read and I know exactly when I'm going to finish a book by dividing the pages by 10. If the book is 256 pages, it'll take me 26 days to read.
That RUclips algorithm is uncanny, that's twice in a week it has had the very video on the very topic in the top corner. it's my 3rd day of reading and it is slow going but worth it. Great video.
Another useful tip while reading I use is I find that when I read, if I use a highlighter to highlight the main points of a paragraph, a definition, or an explanation, it helps me retain and hone in on what the text is trying to translate to the reader. It makes me feel like I’m receiving the benefits while absorbing the key information. Kind of like a study guide that I won’t be tested on, but I can now go back and reference the highlighted text for the main point or sum of the paragraph.
Im normally not very impressed by the advice given in this type of videos on youtube cause either its crappy advice or just nonsense that nobody will ever apply, even the person talking about it dont apply it in their lives 😂 but this video was excellent! "The Greatest Salesman In The World" is a great little book that is perfect for starting a reading habit. It's all about programming your subconscious mind with good habits by reading very repetitively. It's helping me tremendously with my motivation. @@TheStrategicKeys Whoa, that's a tough one! To simplify this question, I'll tell you my favorite book TODAY is "How To Be A 3% Man" by Corey Wayne.
