This is great...you did an amazing job brother. I'm still in the process of turning my garage attic into my studio. Cheers and greetings from New York.
I've come to realize there are tools and supplies to help you with everything. One time, I added 1/4 in ply wood and underlayment for flooring with tedious screws, using a t25 bits. Anyway, I then found nails specific for this job (as stupid as that sounds, it didn't dawn on me that there was a specific nail for this lol) it went so much easier. Most think, screws, has to be better? Well, my oringal subflooring, albeit T&G wood slats, none of the nails they used 50 years ago budged. These are made differently with little grooves so they stay in place. Anyway, it went without incident and worked great. Way faster and held it down perfectly.
Wow your studio looks fantastic. Brilliant job. Thanks for sharing. I've shared this video with my daughter, she's new to renovating. You have really helpful tips and your workmanship is top notch.
that roxul insulation with cloth over top of it is about the best sound absorber you can get. but all the boards on top of it kind of "hide" it. i built a whole wall in my old home studio that way and it had fantastic sound
I would like to know more about the total cost for the construction and what the decibel waiting outside this conversion :D great vid! I'm in the process of designing one for my studio.
Nice work! I've been working on my shed to studio for almost two years. I had to use what I could afford and I just wish I would have held off on the walls until I could afford doing the electrical. Now if I add it it'll be either ugly or a lot more work.
was that landscape fabric an air barrier? you may have needed to put some 6mil plastic up first before the fabric. You are going to get too much moisture up into that attic space.
Just curious- what type of work for day job? Looks as if you had some time in the trades.. sound panels are awesome def interested! Thanks for sharing!
Sparks a lot of useful ideas, ur setup...only just watch out if ur ac drops any water on ur gear when it initially starts. Dunno if thats likely in ur area.
As soon as your cut scene went into greater detail about the sound dampening window panels, I click 'like'. So far so good, and now I'm extra interested. Bro! I got the room darkening shades which have a U shape of light surrounding each of them like the lord is coming through. I want the dark, and I want the dampened sound. Thank You! I'll check out your page to see if you have done a follow up video, and if not I'll keep looking. Amazing end result. Best,
This was Valspar Ultra paint in Grizzle Gray. Went to Lowes and looked for the purest gray I could find. I used a flat sheen to hide light reflections, but if I ever repaint I'll probably go with eggshell. Very hard to clean drywall dust off the flat paint if you drill any holes in the wall.
@@gtpaul6126 thanx for replying didn’t think you would. I’ll check out that color was looking at Sherman Williams Iron Ore, it’s a really dark grey but might be leaning towards a lighter grey
Thanks for subbing! I just added a link for the lights in the description. A word of warning though, I've had some issues with the lights disconnecting from the wifi. It could just be the distance of the shed from the wifi router inside the house, but you may want to compare with some other brands before purchasing.
SolidWorks is what I use daily at work, but it’s not very well suited to architectural modeling, so for planning the studio I used Cedreo. Its a little limited, but it’s simple, free, and online, so it worked for what I needed.
Next time, def tint the primer. The place you got the paint (any paint store or big box store) would have done it for basically nothing extra. Anyway, I love the wood on the ceiling. Do you think I can do a room like this?
They're available through Home Depot. It's made by Husky. I love mine. I've had it over a year and I think I'm going to get a couple more. I love it for doing assembly work.
Ok this is ridiculous production quality for a channel with only 202 subscribers. Also, with installing that landscaping fabric, are you worried about its flammability? I wanted to use landscaping fabric to mask the ceiling in my partially finished basement but was worried it would go up crazy fast in the event of a fire.
I wasn’t quite as concerned about flammability in this detached shed as I would be in a home. Landscaping fabric is flammable, but the rockwool insulation is highly flame resistant. You might choose a black flame retardant fabric if that is a concern for your application. Thanks for watching!
No worries! That was the original key but all locks were replaced during the home renovation, so that key is now useless. I appreciate the caution though!
The panels over the windows are a pretty good idea.

Thanks! That sounds like a great project too. Would like to do something more useful with my attic space.
Love the lawn fabric on the rear of the sound panel. I build panels and was using canvas for the back. I am switching to lawn fabric. Thanks!
Awesome job! Looks great! Makes me want to get outside and build something like that!

RUclips algorithm brought me here! 81K Views - 694 subs! Well done! Great content.
If you know your final paint color you should tint your primer accordingly. I think Mike Holmes said that once.
Glad to be here! This is my first of your videos I've watched and I really enjoy hearing you talk about your projects!
Awesome! Thanks!
Really nice! The sound "proofing" is great too! Good video - I'm inspired .
Looks great! Joined to get on board early!
Thanks!
Twine or string can serve as a "leveler" between outlets and repetitive fixtures. I enjoyed the video. Thanks

I love that brand of t-shirt. Into the AM

Thanks! I’m a mechanical engineer now. I previously did a little work in construction, but most of the experience has come from personal projects.
@@gtpaul6126 I’m just gearing up to start and amazed at both the video and craftsmanship… thank you 🙏
That's a boss move you did there sir.
This is awesome. Well done.

5th uploaded video - and 45.000 views - for sure upcoming regular youtuber!!
This is an awesome review of your work! Love it! It's looking great on camera.
Perhaps we didnt see the same mess...
Cool. I haven’t watched your channel in a while. Now I’m all caught up. When’s the next video?

Good job with the reno, looks good and man, wish I had a space like that. (also, I like your Ecovessel cup, it's a good brand)
Crazy. This is what I've been wanting to do in my yard. Only thing stopping me is money lol. Looks good man!
Thanks!
Awesome job! i’m going to steal your ideal for the ceiling in my shed. Are those just regular 1x4 boards?
Thanks! I used 1x4 pine common boards. They’re more expensive than 1x4 furring strips, but they are a much cleaner cut with square edges.
Thank you for sharing your expertise
What is the design software you used?
What stand did you use for the laser level?
Great Job 👍🏻
Would like to see how you built the panels.
Amazing work
Thanks!
Just curious if you remember what color paint and brand you used?

I should've worn headphones. Now all my lights are blue 🤣
Haha! Whoops...
Would love to see DIY sound panels!
Subscriber 247 here! Could you share a link for the lights? I have an almost identical Reno I’d like to finish before summer and I’d love to add them!

i dont think most people understand the utility of excessive outlets. I've got about two per room in my apartment and its infuriating.
Very amazing
what application do you use for 3d modeling?
SolidWorks is what I use daily at work, but it’s not very well suited to architectural modeling, so for planning the studio I used Cedreo. Its a little limited, but it’s simple, free, and online, so it worked for what I needed.

Jup wanna know about the panels plz
Absolute hack electrical before. Why they put in 20 different GFCI outlets is crazy. Instead of just daisy chaining it off the first gfci
Yeah no idea why they did that.
I guess no one told the last owner only the first outlet needs to be a gfi
Yeah they spent quite a bit on unnecessary outlets.
Dream Studio!
*edit* I love that desk/workbench, it's EXACTLY what I've been looking for. Gives me some brilliant ideas for for my new studio/office!
Thanks Jesse! Yeah the workbench has been great. And much cheaper than electric sit/stand desks.

Everytime I see someone do one of these projects they always have a workstation with drills, saws and everything?? Not everyone got it like that.
Understandable. Everyone has to start somewhere though. I've acquired these tools over many years of working on projects.

Doing it just in time for RUclips to demonetize everyone and do away with the creator fund. Yay!
