He's barely high tier lol
but he is a really good cp char because of the fact that he only needs 3 grabs to get a stock against 95% of the cast; if you are unaware of the matchup or make 1 or 2 mistakes it can cost you your stock which makes dk rlly scary

EJJTheMiner DK is higher than we give him credit. Larry, Tweek, M2K and others wouldn't have him as a secondary if he wasn't. We have a seemingly unbreakable bias towards characters that fall under the classification of "heavy." Heavy = low tier
that is by far the most patient DK i've ever seen.

Its nice to see Tweek do so well. Personally, I dislike Cloud a lot simply because any time I play online and I beat someone *surprise surprise* they pull out Cloud the next game and I get up-aired for days. He's fun to play and an extremely good character, but I hate that people use him as the "omfg you beat me I'll show you!" choice
Chris Fitzgerald Well that last statement is partly true, some people use him as a counter pick after loosing though. Hes not as ridiculous as he seems to be, the main problem is that many people can pick him up and use him easily as he requires less effort to get to average play, but you still need to have some sort of effort to utulise him to win against really good players (close to top level to top level which are extremely rare). I usually side towards link as a counterpick since a lot of people generally quit after I counterpick Cloud, despite them using somebody like Corrin or Bayonetta which I find even less pleasurable than fighting Cloud.

What I miss the most seeing from Leo is his Meta Knight. I believe he could have donde better with Meta Knight than with Sheik. His Meta Knight has given him good results (against Mr. R for example).
He used him prepatch, he uses him for the Rosa peach counters

That right. Against Dabuzz, even though he did throw Meta Knight, he even threw Cloud, and in the interview, he himself said that Cloud is the key. But lately I haven't seen him use Meta Knight, and Meta Knight also got him to beat Womf, and I found it very cool how he pulled the ladder even though the ladder can't be pulled the same way as before.

This is one thing I love about smash 4. People always bring out the characters potential even when nobody expects it.
Tweek's DK is definitely better than Larry's. I actually think it's possibly the best DK in the world. That isn't a stretch considering he just won the most stacked MSM with nothing but DK... Lol his one set he dropped went to game 5 also. Pretty crazy.

Definitely. The only time I've seen him use Bowser Jr since he dropped him was against Locus at ZeRo Saga, so yeah, it's been awhile. After this tournament, I'm 100% certain he'll pull out DK if his Cloud isn't working.

Look, I'm not the biggest fan of MKLeo, but I still think that he's top 3 despite random losses. But even then, losing to DK or Ryu is nowhere near as embarrassing as losing to a Palutena.

I wonder if Tweek had a bet with DKWill to go solo DK and win a tournament. If so, boy did he win that. Still, seeing as how good his DK was here, he should definitely use him at majors. Like seriously, he couldn't beat Komo in Cloud dittos but he could beat him with DK. If not, he should definitely have it as a secondary with Jr.

DK is not one of the worst characters. Mid tier at the very least.
Nahh he's still high tier, at best he's possibly top 15 (the way Tweek played here made it seem like he is) but I say Top 20-25 around there.

I'll give him mid tier because essentially hes a one trick pony with everything else being unreliable against the higher tiers and even other characters. Just personally looking at the character. I am also one of the firm believers that almost every character is good and has that thing that makes them super strong. They are just inconsistent or not represented enough.
There are some matchups that can be won with the Ding Dong alone, which may harm DKs rep down the line sadly :(

I remember I ran into this DK on FG once and I was straight up questioning how in the fuck I kept loosing, seriously ive ran into decent clouds sheiks bayo's and ZSS mains and I did relatively well and I just couldnt see how im having so much trouble with DK outta nowhere. Well now I feel a little less shitty about getting bodied seeing it wasnt just me being shitty with my plays, it was just me underestimating DK, and partly lack of MU knowledge.

I recently went up against a decent one and roy did get me kinda close [last stock 130%], only thing I dont like is roys lack luster grab and the fact I need to go in for the sweet spot with DKs huge range.

Yoshi Dragon The thing is I used to spam a decent amount D air when coming from Melee but I dont do it anymore to the point of only using it once or twice within a match due to landig lag. I guess being punished at first when starting made me reluctant to use it in my play nowadays, im shit when it comes to adapting mid match.
but you can use auto cancel fair and a bunch of other disjoints.

I hear that the Marth-DK MU isn't very good for Marth and that Cloud is superior in every way in that MU but it's MK Leo. His Marth transcends MUs. I think it's because MK Leo doesn't want to go Super Saiyan unless it's a major. That and maybe to avoid the embarrassment of losing to DK with his best char. 😋 No shame in losing period IMO. Only learning.
