Oh!!! I'm so glad to have this video pop up! I'm in the middle of moving 2500 miles away from my beloved state of Washington and will be leaving my special hummingbird behind. He stays all year long at my feeder and I have a warmer I use to keep his nectar from freezing each winter. When his nectar gets low, he scolds me with loud little chirps, and I have a little clicking sound that lets him know his feeder is now ready. He's a very normal colored little guy, still very shy when I try to take his picture. I worry for him. Who will take care of him in the winter? I won't cry, instead I will try to paint a simple hummingbird with you as a guide. Thanks much.
Oh Cheryl I’m so sorry to hear that you are leaving your precious home and little bird. I’m sure he’ll be fine but I would feel very bad about leaving him too. Is there anyone nearby who would take over his feeding routine for you when you’ve left?

Very nice. We get plenty of these little ones whizzing by - we have 4 hummingbird vines, or trumpet vines, growing in our yard, so they are always chasing each other 😄

I'm very new to watercolor and have painted some of your lessons with amazing results. I love hummingbirds so I gave this one a shot and I thought I ruined it but when I was all done it actually looked okay even with a bit of a fat beak haha. Your videos are delightful thank you so much for doing this.❤

Also the colors were not very nice.

Hi, Diane. I grew up in the Midwest part of the US and have a father who religiously fed Hummingbirds. He gets literally hundreds of birds in his yard during the summer, so these guys have a special place in my heart. I love the looseness of the wings in contrast to the sharpness of the beak in your painting. I will definitely give this a try. Have a good day!
