I feel no sympathy for the woman. Abuse perpetrated by any gender is not acceptable.
I only feel for the child who had to witness this.
You don’t feel any sympathy for someone who had a spinal/neck injury and then spiraled into drug abuse because of the pain?
You don’t have to excuse or justify or agree with her actions to humanize her. You can humanize her and have pity on her while also recognizing that what she did was not okay.
The reality is we are all capable of evil and all have a breaking point. I think it would be wise for all of us to acknowledge that. When we act like this person was a unique monster and pretend it couldn’t happen to us, we only inhibit our ability to address the problems

You should not have spent a day in their. We all know that the woman never would have.
Merry Christmas Dr. And Mrs. Grande 🎄
So many cases are a preponderance of proof of the double standard. When the victim is male, we ask what he did to deserve it, and imply she's a secret victim, along with "his own" child. When the victim is female, we leap to vilify the male as a drug-fueled menace to an innocent mother and "her" babies. Asking why he "chose" to stay around her only to imply he had options that would have allowed him to leave without abandoning the child to her tender, caring threats to kill the kid. If he'd left, then she'd followed through, we'd be criticizing him for not reporting her threats.
Chandra Lawson’s son Liam Windham, who was 17 at the time of the murder, had left for school on that day. He later cited that drug use could have led to the killing, and even claimed that he has forgiven Lawson. He further added to this by saying: “When he is released, he will have to live with that and live with the guilt for the rest of his life. I think that’s punishment enough.”
Before judging Bryan for not leaving, you have to consider the danger the kid was in. Also, we don't know what his leaving option entailed. I had a friend that wanted to leave, but told me his wife said that if he did she would immediately falsely report him for sexually abusing her and the children. He knew that people would "believe all women," so he was trapped. "Chandra" could have made similar threats to control Bryan and also threatened to harm the child. These issues are often complex and not amenable to a snap judgment of what an abused partner 'should have done."
He had everything on video, so he could have had her locked up if necessary.
Could have doesn't work. He didn't say that. You're projecting your friends circumstances on them.
He might also have provoked her deliberately, and planned the whole thing, knowing it was all on video🤷♂️ your "could have" is doing some heavy lifting here...

He deliberately went and got a gun when nothing was happening between them. He could've left at any time or given her one punch, he is guilty.

@@lizb4156 Retrieving the gun is not proof of premeditation.
If your spouse is beating you and has just deliberately collected ONE of the weapons from behind the couch (the bat) to attack you, it would be reasonable to assume she may go back for the other weapon soon (the gun).
In that situation, it makes sense to retrieve and pocket the gun, because she has already shown the intent to use escalating violence against him, and there is a reasonable fear that she would go back for the gun to shoot him soon.

"During this part of the confrontation the video converted from black and white to color." What is this the Wizard of Oz? lol
More likely that either the camera system records the newest footage in color, but compresses older footage into lower-resolution black and white to save recording memory, OR the lights were dim in the start of the recording but enough lights turned on later for it to switch to color; many cameras have higher-sensitivity settings for low light that only detect in monochrome (and the human eye works in a similar way)
Camera probably went from night to day mode as the sunlight hit brighter.

The way she was getting in his face and all that looks extremely irritating but neveretheless he killed her ...
Right in front of the kid too. She sucked, looks like he sucks too. Poor kid had no stable adults around
She did have it coming no doubt. However for me i find it unreasonable that he killed her rather than just leaving. He had left the house came back in and got the gun. So far into the video she had hit him multiple times with her hand and acted like she was going to hit him with the bat. Yet she was about to leave when he came in. He While outside it seems decided he was going to kill her. Ive been in an abusive relationship. I know its traumatizing and things are not always simple to get out. But he had the choice to leave then wait for her to leave and then take those recordings to the police have her arrested and get a restraining order.
I don't sympathize with Chandra. She had it coming, but this was clearly premeditated and avoidable. He could've stayed gone when he left, he could've brought this footage to the police after she left. He chose to come back armed and shoot her the next time he was assaulted. I feel for Bryan, and I get it, but let's be real about the situation. At the time of the shooting there was no genuine justification for it.
That is a heavy title 😂

So sad, with that child standing right there
My uncle told me we had an ancestor who murdered his wife. He was an assistant principal (back in the early 1900s) and his wife was a harridan. He went home o e day and was in the cellar working on the boiler and she was harranging him and he just picked up a hatchet and killed her. Apparently a lot of people spoke up for him at the trial. My uncle never said what happened to him.
I am rather confused. There is no doubt that she was abusing her husband. But, was he in fear of his life sufficiently to warrant shooting in self defence? No. I cannot see that. Firstly in terms of body weight and height, he clearly was stronger than her and could have restrained her with ease. Small males are usually stronger than women anyway. A woman of his size might even have overpowered her. He could have walked out at any time. When she hit him, she used side swipe blows which are way less forceful than straight punches. Also, in using the bat, she repeatedly hit the couch and the floor, not him. Was she threatening extreme violence? Yes. Was he capable of restraining her and escaping? yes. Did he plan to kill her? yes. He retrieved the weapon and concealed it. WHen she had left the room, that was the time he could have left the room and the house. I think he is guilty of murder.
My thoughts match your's anyone else is plain wrong.
When she left the room he could have left but instead he waited and shot her. This was a toxic relationship and he chose to stay in it.
This is not a self defense case. Yes she is physically and verbally abusive. What he could do is leave the house and the marriage. Leave to a motel or a family member's house, file for divorce and start a new life. You don't have to kill the woman. She is still someone's mother and was someone's daughter first even before she met you. So leave the house and file for divorce if you couldn't take it anymore. Don't straight up murder her, and try to claim self defense. Don't even give him a lighter sentence due to pity for the abusive he suffered. There were many chances to have left the marriage and home since.
He could have also just gone to bed and been beaten to death at night or stabbed. I see your point, he could have had her arrested and gotten an order of protection. He didn't and it didn't end well for her. He was clearly fed up. I agree with Dr. Grande 100% in this one.
If he files for divorce, she gets cash and prizes for beating him. Great system we have, huh?
He had a chance to disarm her or just leave
I’m only speculating that had he not retrieved the pistol and placed it in his pocket prior to the shooting he may not have been charged. If the pistol had been within reach during the incident with the baseball bat and the child not present then it would be a totally different story but once he intentionally retrieved the pistol during a moment that he could have left and de escalated the situation that is a form of pre mediated thought!
"Gee, this woman is threatening me and beating me with a baseball bat, I guess I'll just leave the gun sitting behind the couch where she can go get it when she gets angry enough instead of securing the gun so she can't use it against me", said no reasonable person, ever
I agree. For me, that he did this in front of the baby, is unforgivable. He has the right to defend himself but clearly he had plenty of chances that didn't include doing it in front of innocent eyes

Could you consider doing a video on the shooting of James and Lisa Goy by their neighbor, Jeffrey in 2021? This is such a crazy case. There is a video available on the internet of the actual shooting taking place. The Goys are said to have been very combative in the neighborhood and antagonized Jeffrey constantly. Even after he pulled a gun on them and was shooting, they were still yelling at him. I would love to hear your analysis of this.

No it isn’t. They’re feminist liberals who hate men
There’s no question that what she did was horrible. She could have been jailed for it too. But from a different view and a serious one, I notice two things here, besides her abusive nature:
1. Security cameras good for evidence when he contacts law enforcement
2. He had the time to conceal a gun, she had also left the room prior, so he could have left the house altogether and contacted the police. Then he could tell them about the abuse and security cameras, safely leaving the relationship and fighting for custody.
It didn’t have to come to her death. She shouldn’t have been horribly abused though and sadly, her children are without a mother.
She seems terrible and abusive, but i don't know to what extent. Those attributes don't necessarily warrant an execution, and that's what I believe this was. I believe he is guilty of being a coward and that he hated himself as much as her but was too scared to walk away. I think he premeditated this killing. He could of easily overpowered her, club foot and all. I don't believe he felt his life was in danger/serious injury, regardlessof the baseball bat. This seems like revenge. But the law is the law. So I believe moraly guilty of murder but not legally unfortunately. She was probably a monster so its easy to be emotionally on his side as a spectator. So I think my opinion will be unpopular because of this.
I don't know how to feel about this. On one hand if we're solely following the letter of the law - it appears that he was in his right. On the other hand he wasn't REALLY threatened and he clearly waited for a nice justification to kill her. Planned and deliberate.
I don't feel sorry for her though. A divorce would have probably been worse for him than prison lol.
This reminds me of a similar case we had at the office. There was a salesman who was working with us & whose life was a living hell at home. He was maybe 35 yo not more. We never suspected anything. We all know what would’ve happened had he gone the legal route to get away from her. It’s a shame the young boy was a witness tho. So sad all around
We all already know that if the sex were reversed, she would be celebrated all over the media as a poor "victim of domestic violence."
No she wouldn’t. Women go to jail all the time for killing their abusive husbands . You live in la la land. 2 stop making it seem as if men and women are equal we are not.
Why are you being biased? He literally murderd her. He went out his way to use deadly force. He could have defended himself but chose not to because he was planing to kill her when he had the chance. Both can be guilty it isnt one or the other. They both deserve jail.
I've never even heard of someone only having to serve 20 percent of a sentence for killing someone. Too many of the justice system's sentencing guidelines are convoluted and can sometimes be absurd, imo.
Let's be honest, the justice system was designed by lawyers, for lawyers.
The way shes bent over screaming in his face is nuts
WTF? !!!!!! Wtf!!!! How tf was he charged with anything.????? So women can claim battered woman syndrome but men get charged with 1st degree murder ? Wtf is happening.
He is guilty. He armed himself. She was a really sick woman but didn't earn the the death penalty. He should have called the police.
Having had an ex wife that hit and shouted, this was likely one of countless acts of abuse. Sadly, he didn’t call 911.
Exactly. You GET it. Female-on-male abuse is EXTREMELY under-reported.
He would not have been believed. Or she may had threatened him to accuse him of DV/SA and we all know what happens then.
the law is against men, better to leave her
See, people like this give bipolar people a bad name.
I agree with your assessment. I have had security cameras of thos type and you actually forget they're even there most of the time.
If the roles had been reversed, Beth, aka Chandra, would never have been charged with anything. (I agree, anyone who prefers to be called Chandra over Beth is highly suspicious).
This is a gross case of reverse sex prejudices
What an odd couple! How did these two get together? I must know more….
