    I’ve always found it so funny that the entire Dragon Age saga pretty much only started because The Architect messed up.
    I mean the without him the fifth blight wouldn’t have happened
    the Warden would never have become a grey warden.
    Cailen wouldn’t have died fighting darkspawn.
    The Hawke family would never have fled to Kirkwall.
    Anders probably wouldn’t have blown up the chantry as he probably wouldn’t become a grey warden and gone to Kirkwall
    The mage rebellion wouldn’t have happened (at least not like it did)
    The divine wouldn’t have called the conclave as there would be no need.
    With no Hawke in Kirkwall corypheus would probably still be imprisoned
    The inquisition would never have been founded
    The herald wouldn’t have got the mark
    All because the architect did an oopsie

    So hear me out, you guys know how solas says that the evanuris did something essentially unspeakable to mythal through betrayal? What if they divided, or perhaps shattered, her spirit & then scattered it to the wind, not expecting those parts of her to find "vessels", (the old gods & flemeth), or deliberately put those pieces into the old gods to keep her from being whole? Either to keep her power for themselves or because she was their biggest obstacle in whatever scheme they had with "the void"? (Which, I think, is linked somehow to red lyrim in some way, shape or form by maybe tainting 1 titan that then spread it to the rest. But that's a bit of a shot in the dark mayhaps)

    I got the impression, though it might be pure speculation, that Flemeth sends the spirit of Mythal through the Eluvian to Morrigan (or the inky) and the power that Solas takes from Flemeth, is the Old God soul. Thus Mythal survives (although her incarnation as Flemeth, does not) and Solas gains a god soul, powerful enough to become what he once was.
    This would make some sense as Kate Mulgrew, had stated she didnt want to return for another appearance in Dragon Age again, but Mythal can continue as a character, without Kate Mulgrews Flemeth.

    I really do think that Mythal/Flemeth did something with the old god soul shortly after she took it from Kieran. She has always been one smart cookie who has been betrayed time and time again with the first being when the other old gods betrayed and killed her the first time and then most recently when Solas betrayed her at the end of inquisition after slaying Coryepheus. I think that she knew he would pull something and did something with it so that when he did what he did, he took something from her. So that whenever she reforms she could go back and take back the soul for her own.
    She is no longer naive and too trusting like before when she was just Mythal or whenever she was just Flemeth when Cornobar betrayed her after he killed her beloved bard and banished her to the tower.
    When she told Morrigan that she is coming back for a reckoning she more than means it. She is not cold and heartless and would not deprive her mother of her child, in her own way she does love Morrigan too much for that. Morrigan is very much apart of her, she is the Flemeth daughter that broke the mold and her cycle and got away and even she too betrayed Flemeth by more or less defying her she did not harm her like all else. Therefore Flemeth has more respect and love for her and like when they battled the Templars in the Wilds, she would use Morrigan but at the same time she would protect Morrigan while she devoured them and shielded her from the brutality that she had unleashed upon them.
    She cares way too much for Morrigan and Kieran to break them up. The old god soul was the fair trade so she wouldn’t break them up.
    I also think that she saved Kieran so that he himself could no longer heed the call of the dark spawn and bring forth another blight as a reborn Urimeal, who would had been pissed. And now Kieran can be a young lad no longer bound and tied to an arch demon fate.

  • @mtrindade1092
    @mtrindade1092 4 года назад +3

    I don't think the writers know what to do with the Old God Soul.
    In Inquisition Morrigan don't seems to have plans for that. So, we can Just assume that her ritual was only to help the wardens (and maybe for curiosity). No big secret plan (as I tought when played DAO).
    And Flameth may have took It only to free her grandson. I don't think Solas have It (since that post credit scene happens anyway). He may have took her "soul" (or whatever was in that pendant in DA2).

      @@voidofastora6032 as far as I am aware of, the original writers left, so yeah. That's why the tone of the first game is rather unique in comparison to the other games. The OGS thing, it does seem like they really didn't want to work with it. By having flemeth removing the soul from the kid no matter what (or the kid not existing), or Morrigan changing her mind about her original plan, now they can do whatever they want with it regardless of former choices. Heck, even the flemeth/morrigan plot has some weird holes on it. But its bioware after all. I just hope they can deliver a proper DA4 game instead of pulling a mass effect "dark energy original idea dismissed for some bs rushed final game" kind of thing

    One thing has always gotten me with Kieran and Urthemiel, and its itches me quite a bit. Call it a pet peeve. But the soul of Urthemiel went into Kieran long before he was born, and therefore had a soul or identity himself. We know from Harkon that its implied the soul of the God or Spirit overtakes the Dragon it possesses, so logically and with no time to get individuality the Soul of Urthemiel SHOULD BE the Soul of Kieran.
    And we went through this entire thing in Origins where it literally said that the Old God Soul is destroyed if slain by a Grey Warden because it would be two souls inhabiting a single body, battling and destroying each other. Although, I suppose this makes me question how the hell that works in relation to Corypheus and his resurrection power. That said, Corypheus just reinforces my previous point regarding a magically stronger soul dominating over any other soul and gaining possession of the body.

    • @NehnBellanaris
      @NehnBellanaris 3 месяца назад

      Don't for get about Flemeth. She also holds the soul of an Elven goddess, Mythal. "A soul cannot be forced upon the unwilling." As an unborn being Keiran didn't have a will at the time when Urthemiel's soul would inhabit his body. And considering that Flemeth has not just the soul of Mythal inside of her but also Mythal's memories along side of her own, I don't think that Flemeth's soul no longer exists, I think that the two soul reside within her together.

Just imagine how nuts it would be if you actually encountered an uncorrupted Archdemon (Old God) in Dragon Age, one that isn’t insane due to the Taint but actually lucid and even friendly. Or maybe the Old Gods are the evil counterparts of said Children/manaketes? Try not to search for Children of the Goddess though since there’s spoilers for Fire Emblem: Three Houses.

    Never thought about it before, but isn't it kinda weird that The Architect would try to turn Urthemiel into a disciple? That ritual is meant to free darkspawn from the calling. But why would it need to be used on an un-tainted old god? Unless perhaps the old god was already tainted, and the Architect just woke it up. It would parallel how Corypheus says the Black City was already black when he got there, and why the old gods were locked away, if they were tainted from the very start.
    Another connection this could serve is if the old gods were under some form of uthenera, like the long sleep of the ancient elves where their spirits wander the fade while their bodies remain. This could explain how the old gods called to the magisters sidereal from their dreams.

They contain the lore of DA until the end of Inquisition with information on all characters and events. There are few errors of course but Bioware has tried to correct them (ex: dates).
      Anyway, this is a story writing method. In writing when so much "coincidences" meet up it always mean something. His name is the Architect, he can't be killed, he's a smart darkspwan like Cory and like the codex that talked about the three darkspwans that dressed as kings and talked about a city/blackness. Also the Architect isn't his original name, nor is corypheus (conductor) is his real name. They're titles + new names each magister took before entering the golden city.
      the devs wont go through so much details and coincidences into the Architect and just say nope his just a normal darkspwan that's not how story writing works.

      the old gods are only taking the form of dragons, for some reason all of the old gods chose female dragon bodies which yeah obviously you choose that because they're bigger and have wings
