Japanese people made this first part of street of rage , when Japanese make something , they make it for centuries.
Definitely was. Each level has its own individuality, especially the last level where the background reveals it becoming morning, and you're scrolling left instead of right. It seems ironic that you can't use a cop car in that level since you can use it in an interior setting like the factory level. Never understood why this player didn't use the cop car in that elevator level. I like how we'll go all the way back down just to see that sequence. It's the best level to trigger it because of how unique it is. It's too bad the sequels kinda copied "Final Fight's" way of fighting by making up names of each person you're fighting.

true for me too nes games and sega games was the best for the kids on 90s im from 93 but is still like 90s almost the same so i know how you feel that was the best time on one old tv to play games like this was just amaizng thing in the world i wanna back again to this old days it was more fun to play this with friend and somethimes to go outside with friend now everyday is hte same is so borrying
The Mega Drive had 6 FM synthesis sound channels similar to what you'd find in a lot of 80s arcade hardware and the Japanese PC88 computer (which Yuzo Koshiro worked on) and 4 primitive PSG (blip bloop) channels from the Master System (mostly to provide backwards compatibility). In addition, it had just ONE PCM audio sample channel which replaced one of the FM channels when used. Think about that fact when listening to that music. It also had a ubiquitous Z80 8-bit processor as a sound controller. This audio hardware was decent for its time, but it was never meant to be able to produce the quality of music on display in Streets of Rage! Yuzo Koshiro identified exactly the type of music that this hardware would be best at and wrote a sound driver which took advantage of every channel available to produce excellent club-worthy music with stereo separation effects and seemingly multiple sample channels going on at the same time. He used every trick in the book, including combining and manipulating the FM and PSG channels in extremely creative ways in order to reproduce extra sampled audio channels. The guy is a fucking wizard and it's no wonder that he became the first console game music composer to be credited on game title screens!
im 46 now, I played this for the first time when I was 13 with my best friend. Still carries the same excitement 30 plus years later. This is so awesome!!! Thank you , guys !!!!! subscribed
I remember Renting this game every Sat & Sun "With my father's money of course" ( : way back in 1991 for my Sega Mega Drive (i was only 7yrs old ffs) It cost 5.00 pound for the two nights, i remember it distinctly : ) Something kids nowadays know nothing about or will ever experience. I know it's a bit of a cliché now but Streets of Rage is the best beat em' up Franchise Ever Made. The series as a whole is nearly 30 yrs old but it still Holds up to this day & it always will i think. The 16 bit era was a fantastic time for gamers it really was ( :
Same memories for me, I stayed at my dads weekends and we was straight round to the rental shop.. looking back and now having kids of my own,. it was the easiest way to keeping me quiet haha
It wasnt i used a wrong term it was sega mega drive exclusive. Power of the habit i have to call old games arcade. I meant retro. Still have my copy like brand new.
i like adam as well and said blaze as a challenge character but no i would pick adam nd axel as a sub character and kicked some ass with them atleast on hard difficulty
The graphics, Music and fun did to SoR one of the most memorable Genesis Games. Anyway, Still funny play them today on the world, But... these clones of Blaze, Dammit... I thought most difficult bosses of this game. SoR always deserve a play or two
The blaze twins are the sole reason why I still can't beat this game. On stage 5, they take a few of my lives, but on stage 8 where I have no police help, it's ALL OVER. And even if I (somehow) make it past them on stage 8, Mr. X finishes me off. Still love this game to death though
The one that jump kicks you gotta avoid and the other one that jump flips she will flip and land one step below the current plane so if you meet her on the land you can grapple her. Thats the trick I learned. Keep grappling and damaging the one flip twin and when shes outta the way you can focus on the jumpkick twin. Just gotta avoid the jumpkicks.
No kidding. I could never beat the two of them on the final stage, frustrating knowing that just beyond that door was the final boss. This game was always a West Coast Video rental, so I never got the chance to beat it.
I like fighting those two fake Blazes. Just keep a distance so that one of them jumps and kicks. Catch her and two knee-attack and a backdrop. It will get about 60% of the life bar. Repeat. Never stand before them with your back as she will grab you from behind. If one of them grabs you from the front, that is fine cause you can press ↑ + jump to land safely without any damage.
The gameplay, graphics and sound of this game can be considered as pinnacles of 2d gaming; as the game feels, plays, and looks contemporary even in 2020.
I'm only asking but since u said 1 year ago that u never made it to th final boss room and completed it have u since then defeated the final boss and completed SOR1? and have u played and completed SOR2 SOR3 and SOR4?
For all the classic SEGA Genesis games out there, Street of Rage sounds very promising and it's on the mini Genesis console to celebrate it's 30th Anniversary since 2019. Great game playthrough. Gotta love the nostalgia in the 90's.
I know most people don't think of it and take it as granted, but I think it's so cool that you can just type in a game from over 30 years ago and get the full gameplay right there in a second. Thank you for that!
I was 16 when this came out but sold my megadrive by that time to buy a neo geo, I finally just played this game and beat it on a crt tv, now I'm 44 and yes this game is a masterpiece.

Intro still gives me chills... flashback to about 7 year old me.
I was either 15 or 16 when it was released in 1991.
My childhood. I ❤ THE 90's!!!

Good memories! Always played it with my brother when we where younger, great game!
Que nostalgia me da este juego ,me rompe el corazón 💔
En especial la intro. Solo me recuerda aquellas frias tardes noche de los 90...
La música x dios,.el comienzo
mate if clubs had this music id be back in there a second - we have lost something. 1990s ftw.
That music really get me pump up.Sega games is still alive via roms
The soundtrack is insane on this game. The megadrive was really capable of some awesome stereo music! Thank you for the upload 😊😊
The guy is a fucking wizard and it's no wonder that he became the first console game music composer to be credited on game title screens!

these games bring such a nostalgic feeling
Still one of the best games ever. Golden Axe and Altered Beast were also right up there for Genesis.
Que nostalgias ...pensar que lo tengo bien guardado e impecable como siempre el mejor juego de todos los tiempos.
Juegazooo yo tengo este el 2 y el 3 pero en un Cartucho de sega que trae 10 en 1

It was a great game that i played with my brothers about 26 years ago.

It's a classic Sega genesis game also the music is a work of art. 😀👍🎮
I got this game when it was released, bought it in HK, it was called The bare Knuckles. What a shock when I turned it on. The best beat them up ever
Im 38 and still remember every second of it's music. I loved
One of the best sound tracks...I want my childhood ❤❤🥺🥺🥺
My best of all retro beat em up games... I finished it hundreds of times and my pick was Adam!
Mine was Blaze. For some strange reason, I'm better with the female characters on beat 'em ups.
Creepy poet
Mine was Axel 😍
Love this game man💗
Is 223 significant?
I love how the back up car still shows up on the boat level somehow 🤣🤣 one of Sega's BEST games!!
It's also the same car as in Eswat
I remember playing this game all the time. I beat this game so many times. I loved it.
The best game I played in my childhood 26 -27 years ago
I appreciate a run through that has flaws, I’m cool with the fact you took damage and still killed it
best memories of childhood and level of happiness was at peak
OMG the worst. Especially before the last door on the last stage😠😠no special attack to weakin the bitches lol
One of the best all around games of all time. Excellent mash up, great story, music is fire, what more do you want?

The amount of times I died at 24:41 is absurd. I died every single time I got there. When I heard the music change I was like "here we go again"
No kidding.
I could never beat the two of them on the final stage, frustrating knowing that just beyond that door was the final boss.
This game was always a West Coast Video rental, so I never got the chance to beat it.
@@tigerburn81 The key was to hit them just after they hit the ground after a jump. And to press Up + C as if your life depended on it.
This and sonic 2 were my go to games as a kid.
I love this game which reminds me of my youth, I played it a lot on arcade machines at the time

I had this game in 1993! I never made it to the Final Boss room, I always died in the level 8. Great memories!
I'm only asking but since u said 1 year ago that u never made it to th final boss room and completed it have u since then defeated the final boss and completed SOR1? and have u played and completed SOR2 SOR3 and SOR4?
@@shawncanning9981 No. I have played this game using emulator but I'm still unable to make it to the final boss
My favourite things about this game were the epic music, and the vault over German Suplex!
For all the classic SEGA Genesis games out there, Street of Rage sounds very promising and it's on the mini Genesis console to celebrate it's 30th Anniversary since 2019. Great game playthrough. Gotta love the nostalgia in the 90's.
Watching this straight after 2007 when I was 7 ...now I’m 19
I’m crying rn😭💗

I started playing this game in 2007 :)
I know most people don't think of it and take it as granted, but I think it's so cool that you can just type in a game from over 30 years ago and get the full gameplay right there in a second. Thank you for that!
One of my favorite classic beat ‘em ups. ;)
