What is a Digital factory or Smart factory?
4 Requirements to be met:
1) Paperless information exchange
2) Connected stack
3) Real-time metrics (near real-time is okay for non-critical industry processes)
4) Big data Analytics (predictive or ML-based but need to look for both on the floor as well as historical data)
Thank you, Walker Reynolds!
Great notes!
This is so well done. RUclips finally recommended useful video. Gonna binge on this channel. Hope to understand more about digital factories
Thank you so much for your support!
Quick Prayer for the Almighty RUclips Algorithm.
Thank you for this incredible Video,
We are waiting for Part 2
Thank you!
thank you for your time .I learn more things about digital factory.
Sir, I am binge-watching all your videos related IIoT and automation. Thankyou for this knowledge gold, I learned alot. Keep up the good work.
Thanks and welcome! Please join our community discord server! bit.ly/industry4Discord
oh hail you
So many information
I was mesmerised with Industry 4.0 because we used for one of our product to be sold for power factor correction. But the unlimited things one can do with IIoT is marvellous.
Thank you for putting it all out for people to learn
You're very welcome, Praween.
Brilliant. Precise, concise and relevant. Thanks for this.
Glad it was helpful!!
i can't believe there are only 9k+ views, and it's not fair. this is far more exciting than pop music videoes or KUWK clips on utube.
LOL Thank you!
Your videos are gold, thank you.
Thanks! Glad to hear they're useful to you.
This is mind blowing!
Glad to hear it!
i've been kickign some of these ideas around in my head and you did a great job presenting them a rational and compelling way. thank you
Thank you!
great demo
Thank you!
where can i see or download the industry 4.0 specification/standard? like you say in 0:18
i love this, explained clearly

At the last part of the video you said that the people who do the paperwork will be move to the data analytics part, do you have a way to help these people to move (since that will imply a career or a lot of training)? Did you success stories doing that change? Could you share us more of that experience.
RUclips! 😅 But more specifically there will be lot's of online training that can be taken in 1-3 months and that person can quickly be up to speed on the new technology. Remember, good technology is user friendly.
🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation:

Thank you!
Thank you very much!
You're welcome!
Great video and explanation. Could you tell me the difference between a digital twin(On systems of system level) and digital factory? Also does digital factory works bidirectional or unidirectional? Thanks in advance!
A digital twin is often used for simulation of various scenarios and responses to them, and may be only a *representation*, not used for operational or control decisions of physical machines or manufacturing processes. A digital factory is completely interconnected so that data at every level of the stack---from edge devices at the plant floor all the way up through the ERP and front office systems---is accessible, normalized, and given context for real-time visualization of the current state of the business at every moment. In that sense it is "bidirectional," in that data from what we think of as up and down the stack can be used by other systems, but it depends on a hub-and-spoke data architecture, not linear point-to-point connections and API calls.
May I also receive the source for Industry 4.0 standards? Thank you so much for this by the way, you're helping me navigate my internship well.

It's like an oracle
Walker, very good ! You are really good ,,nearly good as me ....
Thank you Petar!
Can you please suggest which are the top companies offering digital factory solutions?
We answer this in our most recent Live Q&A ruclips.net/video/PsLt_Pj6Yi4/видео.html
Love your work, but as a Mechanical Engineer who has worked on computer automation for 30+ years. With due respect....people doing the MES with paper being more expensive and error prone than computers/software? Depends on the complexity of the processes, volume, expense of the software/equipment and the people.
For simple, well established processes of high volume production in a company of over 100 people...digital factory 4.0 makes sense.
For complicated, dynamic processes of low volume production in a company less than 100 people? Automation and factory 4.0 does not make sense in my opinion. I would be careful not to over promise.
Thanks for commenting Charles.
How would you differentiate (if you would say they are different) the digital factory and smart factory in short?
Same thing. Great question.
@@4.0Solutions Agreed, kinda!:) Smart factory is more about automation they say though which again overlaps with everything
@@mrkabbazi Are you asking us? or are you telling us? Digital Factory Includes not just automation of your production line, but automation of your entire business. from the edge all the way up to ML & AI back down to the edge. Full closed loop.
