I got to see him once and what a show. He walked out in one of the fabulous capes. His boyfriend at the time followed him onstage , removed the Cape and carried it off. What a show.

In the early 80s when we were stationed at Nellis AFB, they had Liberace’s Museum in his house in a regular housing community. It was so cool.

Hi Misty…Just a little FYI about Boulder City…people came there to work on the Hoover Dam (and the railroad, too) but mostly for the Hoover Dam. Whole communities were built for the families of the men who built the Dam. Small houses, some still small, others thru the years have expanded these small houses. But the interesting thing for you would be the Antique Shops there..and an original Hotel that is still in business. The Hoover Dam tour is so very interesting. Looking at the Hoover Dam is a sight to see..you cannot believe that men actually built this..and many men lost their lives while building it. If u have time..go there and drive around Boulder City, it’s really cute.

Misty I love these videos, museum videos are amazing thanks for taking me along with you! As a Canadian I didn't know much about Abraham Lincoln so I really appreciated that video and I like this one just as much! Alberta in Canada has a very similar history for mining and railroad and we had forts for trading with immigrants and our Indigenous people.

So spectacular! Liberace’s costumes are just stunning.
Nevada native here.🤚The sage grouse is a pretty cool bird but its numbers have been dwindling and I believe it is close to being on the threatened species list. I am thinking though, if they renamed it the Boobaloobaloobie Bird that could possibly generate some needed interest and funding that could help restore/preserve their habitats. I think it’s worth suggesting! 😄 Thanks for the fun video!

Reno has a lot of interesting history also. I was born there and the Italian side of my family settled in the area in the early 1900’s. Cattle ranching, dairy farming and one branch raising Morgan horses for farming. My mother worked for the Reno police department in the 50’s/60’s and saw a lot of interesting people and had a few stories to tell. I got to see Hello Hollywood at the MGM Grand in Reno in the early 80’s and saw those costumes you saw on display. They actually had a Boeing 727 on stage for that show. It came up from the basement on an elevator built into the stage……wow, some of those shows at the Casinos were amazing. Nevada (pronounced Neh VA dah) area around the Reno has some very interesting history also, Virginia City, Lake Tahoe and Carson City are very interesting. It’s not as well known as Vegas, for the glitz and glamour of their Casinos, but as far as Wild West……it’s got some stories.

Thank you Misty and Mark! That was so interesting. My Daddy's dad went missing when my Daddy was 16. They filed a missing person's report and eventually he was found in Reno with a woman he said was his wife which was NOT my Grandmother. He had divorced my Grandmother unbeknownst to her and was traveling and shacking with this "woman". It really hits home regarding women and divorce back then because my Grandma had no money to fly to Reno and contest that my Grandfather was a POS. So the divorce was filed in his favor. My Daddy lied about his age, joined the Navy at 16 and sent money home to my Grandma. He NEVER talked about my grandfather who was pond scum. I love all your videos

Misty, I just Love listening to you tell about the places you visit, its always so informative. Being from Wisconsin when you said he was born here , I thought , oh that's right! I forgot about that. I will have to see where that was or you could probably even tell me. I wonder if his childhood home still exists? I would Love to know how you came to Love and admire him, I saw in one of your replies to someone that you never got to see him perform, I sure wish you could have ! I never did either, I can imagine what a fantastic show he put on !
Thank you so much again for taking us along!

I remember seeing him on TV so many times back in the days when he was performing a lot and had his own show. I loved him and don't think I ever missed a show or performance. I'm almost 76, so I've seen a lot of the old Vegas and TV people, like the Rat Pack, etc.. Those were great times with so many mega-talented people. Did you go in the gift shop and get any Liberace merch? Thanks for the great tour of the museum, especially the Liberace exhibit.

I remember going to see Liberace in the late 70s. I was a teenager and wasn't sure about it but my girlfriend was going with her mother and they had an extra ticket. He did put on a show like no other. I remember he had a huge pink fur cape and he asked all the women if they wanted to touch his furry pink balls! 😊

My mom and Uncle both loved Liberace! My Uncle plays the piano and is now in a nursing home. He used a wheelchair but is able to get up to play the piano in the community room. He holds a “concert” most days for the other residents or his “groupies”. They call him Liberace! My Uncle’s middle name is Lee and he prefers his groupies to call him Lee. 🩶
