- The University of Arkansas Turf Research facility was awesome! It was really cool to see all the different patches of grass they take care of and how nice they could keep greens grade grass looking as well as how bad they let it get all in the name of science!

Oh the memories…. Dr. Goltby (now at U of Kentucky) was my turf grass professor at Mississippi State… the first day I can remember him yelling at the professional golf management students, “don’t be wearing your “”kole haynes “” when we go out to the sod farm.” My sister also went o university of Arkansas and I have many fine memories 25 years ago visiting her and also visiting the u of a turf department. Class people and excellent research standards! Except for that tahona 31 disaster of a turf species…. Slippery and dangerous sports product

What was the best looking varieties there? Bermuda, Bluegrass, and anything else. I know it’s specific to the region, but what stood out there?
Bentgrass always stands out to me when I see well maintained greens but I think that’s because I don’t have any of my own.
