This is great! I have a new BabyLock Soprano, and it’s so much more fun and smarter than any machine I’ve ever had. I’m rather intimidated by it. So I appreciate the information. I do have a question about throwing away a sharp needle in the regular trash. Taping the end is a good start, I suppose, but a sewing needle can poke through tape, too. I don’t want to injure anyone unnecessarily. Ideas? Thanks again for a great show, and I’m looking forward to more.
Yay! So glad you are liking the series and loving your Soprano! I have taken an empty cookie sprinkles container and place the sharps in there when I have an old needle. So you could do something similar to that maybe. :)
First thank you so much and yes good question. I actually have a small little plastic cube that I put them in and then toss that out when it gets full. I have tossed pins in the garbage and later rubbed my arm or hand across the bag and gotten a long cut or scratch. It does happen, but I am a little more careful with needles and even the tips of my retractable blades. I do tape those to cardboard when I toss them. Great point.
The needle sets my baby lock came with have red, gold, and silver tipped needles but no numbers anywhere. How am I supposed to know what each needle is for. It also doesn’t cover this in my manual.
Hi Lynette, great question! In your machine manual, search for 'replacing the needle' or 'about the needle and fabric'. Depending on the machine, you will find information about the type of needles needed for certain projects and the size of needles.
thank you very much ! I like your videos.

@@babylocksewing you can't read the needle shafts and they are colored but no way to know whet the colors stand for in the book or online
