This is quite subjective. Fuel is a massive gain. I am paying maybe 50 pounds per month to charge my Q4 etron. My previous a5 was costing me 250 per month to fuel ( probably more now with prices ) . 200 quid a month is a lot and actually it’s not too far off levelling the difference between what I was paying for the a5. Pcp is a lot for this car no doubt but I am imagine residual value is an underestimate to protect the balloon so probably will keep more value. Don’t disagree with your comment though 40k+ is still a lot but I have to say I really like the car :).
A very handsome car, much nicer than VW or the Skoda stablemates. This is the electric suv that I expected from Audi, superior interior too, much better than the original etron too.
I have the 40 sportback launch edition and love it. It may have half the power as my bmw 650i on paper but at no point whilst driving it with the family in the car have I felt I needed more power.
Very astute car. The prices are joke especially when you consider how long you have to sit around waiting for it to charge and the batteries will be shot in 10 years.

Hmm. Temp has dropped now and I’ve noticed I’m getting more drop off with range. Nothing major maybe 22 degrees you lose 15 miles range. Great car though, can’t complain. Plus even at 17p per kwh is so much cheaper than 1.40 per litre!
You'll certainly see a drop off in the colder weather, sometimes as much as 10-20%. But if you can charge it at home, you'll always start with a 'full tank'! Pros and cons...

@@larsgraesdal9185 I drove it 300km last year, it has got a clip pretty much directly under where the gear shifter is located, the phone is held in place while taking wireless charge.. forgot the phone like every time I stopped the car but a nice Q4-lady reminded me my phone was still in the car. (Pretty weird the first time but very practical) 😁
It kinda makes you think that, when the MEB platform cars were being discussed in the VW Group boardroom, the Audi person most definitely got the better deal over VW and Skoda... The interior quality and design for the Q4 is leagues ahead of the iD.4 And, I dare say, it will boost the Group's bottom-line profits quite handsomely, too... 👍

It was a real competition between this car and my current Ioniq 5. The only reasons I went for the Ioniq 5 is that it has much more space for a similarly sized car, and I absolutely loathe integrated headrests in SUVs. I mean I get that my C coupe has them… But my family car? Also a car of this size and price not having a reversing camera as standard is nothing short of stingey! That being said it’s a quirky looking car and quirky is most definitely in for me with the likes of Tesla and BMW going down the boring conventional car shape.
So I’m 6 months in to having the q4 e-tron vorsprung, so top line I’m pleased. There are however some issues which having now researched are not new and are a known issue for nearly a year! Questions to ask the dealer before you buy; - show me the Audi app and what I can do remotely? (you will be surprised by lack of functionality) - show me how to set up user profiles? (You can’t which means every time you start you have to read a disclaimer and agree to move the message off the screen…..😖

The huge advantage of the e-tron has to be the predictability of the stops as it maintains such a high charge rate throughout the 0-80% range. Does the Q4 do the same with charging? If it does then it has to be a banker if going to be using public charging. My ID3 at 30% charge after 75mins driving still only reaches 42kwh speed despite 100kwh capability. I charge mainly at home but want to use it more for the longer distances, this unpredictability is one of the reasons I'm tentative. If I knew 10 mins charge meant another 50miles or so regardless of battery charge % then it's much more reassuring and dare I say it, much more like filling up an ICE car.
Sorry, we've not yet had a chance to try the 35. However, most of what we've said about the 40 should ring true - the major changes concern electric range, so if you think you can live with that then you should be fine!
The Q4 is very disappointing and is not up to Audi's usual standard. The interior plastics are poor quality and there is even painted metal in the cabin. It's moved a long way downmarket from the Audi ICE saloons, standard equipment is absolutely minimal, even with the S-Line everything is an extra, you don't even get clamps in the cup holders which makes them useless! Reversing camera is essential and should be fitted as standard and there is only one reversing light. No front parking sensors either, the adjustable boot floor, rear light bar, rear armrest & cup holders and 12V in the back are all extra too. You also need the optional steering wheel with the adjustable recuperation. You will need to add another £20k to get a reasonable level of equipment.
I don’t know how many car reviewers and customers need to moan about touch screen climate controls before car makers get the message. Whoever would have thought we’d get excited over a physical button in 2021 🙄
See that's the thing, despite the top speed being capped, it still has plenty of performance at 70mph+. Put your foot down and it'll easily overtake slower traffic!
I currently drive an A4 Avant, but could never consider paying an extra £10-12k for this ugly hulk. Only a new battery chemistry will provide the realistic range/value to make EVs a practical proposition.

The first thing that comes to mind about electric cars is just how expensive and unaffordable they are to buy for most people.
This is usually offset by better residual values and running costs that are 90% lower.
A lot of people are barely able to afford a 10-20k car and you think 40-50-100k is easy to do because of TCO and residual values.

I do very little mileage and can’t afford the 40 so will go for the 35. Sadly though all the reviews online are for the 40

It’s not as good looking as many other Audis, but it’s still very good looking compared to most cars on the road. Especially with the full LED lights.
