Happy Tanabata!
Tanabata is an event that originated from a Chinese legend about Altair and Vega, the stars facing each other with the Milky Way in between. The story is as follows: A weaving girl called Vega and a cowherd boy named Altair were very diligent workers. When Altair met Vega one day, they fell in love. But as they began to visit each other more often, they stopped working hard. The Lord of Heaven got angry and separated them, putting each of them on different sides of a big river running across the heaven (Milky Way). He allowed them to meet across the river only once a year on July 7. On this day, people decorate bamboo branches with oblong paper strips and ornaments to celebrate Altair and Vega’s reunion. It is said that your wishes come true if you write them on paper strips and hang them on the bamboo.
Fun fact: This song is a lullaby in Serbia and is translated to Serbian "Šušti šušti bambusov list"
Happy Tanabata everyone
Today is tanabata. I was looking for links to share for those who don't know it. Thank you for this video.
This song is really peaceful and happy
My favourite childhood song
It's today! I've been waiting to share this legend with my family! Thanks for sharing the song, it's beautiful as always!
Yes, today is Tanabata! Please pray that it will be good weather tonight, because the legend also says that if it rains, the heaven river floods and Altair cannot cross it to see Vega. The weather's so fine over here :)

Oh that part about the legend slipped out of my mind. Sure I'll! Weather is also pretty nice here :) Last night I tried to observe Summer Triangle. It might be either my lack of knowledge about stars or light pollution in my city that made me unavailable to find them but I'll try to see them once again tonight! Btw since Summer Triangle consists of 3 stars: Altair, Vega, Deneb. Does Deneb also have a part in the legend? It was not being said but I think it may be the celestial parent of the weaver girl. Because it's the brightest star among them. It's a star even more bigger than our Sun. However so far away. So we see it less bright than the others.
I found that some versions of the Tanabata legend gave a role to Deneb, too, as follows: One year, the heaven river was so swollen that Altair could not cross it. Deneb, who saw that and felt very sorry for him, changed into a magpie and spread its wings to make a bridge for him! It's interesting that Deneb is not a swan but still a bird in this story. I hope you will be able to see beautiful stars tonight!

Oh I knew about the magpie part but I didn't know it was Deneb who transformed into a bird. And Thanks for telling! Have a wonderful day! :)
