I'm soooo surprised you didn't like it. I have dry skin and this sits beautifully on my skin and I don't even have to set it. I found it satin like and not matte at all. It stayed satin all day
I used to work for bare minerals, and their products are unique. The problem I see on most of the reviews is that everyone is using way to much product! This foundation is very buildable. You also need to do small areas at s time, since it dries quickly. I hope that helps!
I love this foundation.I am 46 have dry skin and I use this with a damp RT sponge,I pounce it lightly and quickly then wait a couple of minutes and apply more where I need it. I love full coverage but with this you need a tiny bit. I prime my skin before applying and powder with Lancôme and before applying my other makeup. I set with setting spray or fix+. It wears perfectly all day! Thank you Angie for your review 💗
Thanks so much for the great review, Angie! I'm 64 and I've found that as I age, a light to medium coverage foundation looks best and most natural on my skin. I also cannot do matte or luminous. It's so difficult to find a foundation with that perfect healthy skin-like finish, that performs well, works well with other products and looks like my skin but mucho better. Your reviews save me a lot of frustration, time and money! You're a blessing!
Thank you Angie. You have saved me so much money over the years! Just as I'm thinking "that might be worth a try" I watch your video and decide it's not for me. I bought your favourite Chanel one and love that too so will always appreciate your foundation reviews. X
Glad you reviewed this. I have never been able to wear any Bare Minerals products. I look like a powder puff. The dried back color is so different. Have a great week. I am 60 and love your reviews. I am thinking about trying your holy grail foundation.
I'd say the clip of you with your first shade looked like it matched you perfectly. Honestly, I bought this a week ago and I LOVE it so much!! I have really dry skin and don't use liquid foundation at all, but I wanted to try it anyway. I actually add 2 drops of squalane oil to 2 small pumps, then use my fingers to blend it out. Then I pat with a dry RT sponge. It lasts all day for me and makes my skin look flawless! Even after a workout! I have zero issues with it, plus the shade is a perfect match for me and doesn't look darker when dried down (I use cool beige). I do very lightly set with my IT Cosmetics Celebration Illumination powder foundation. So crazy how different products can work so differently for people!!
No one else comes close to you for thorough, helpful, professional reviews than you. Thank you. I wish I could see the colors of this foundation on others. The other issue I have is facial lines. You do not have these, so I can't tell if this foundation would settle into them and then accentuate them. Thank you for your great videos.
I have super oily, mature skin and I really like this foundation. I apply it with a damp beauty blender. It still gets a bit shiny after a few hours, but it is one of the few foundations that really lasts all day on me. That said, I got a sample of the YSL All Hours and I think I like that even better. My problem is I am trying to go cruelty free with my makeup and YSL is not CF. 😔
Hi Angie!! I purchased this foundation the other day, along with the brush. The consultant at Bare Minerals said when you apply it with the brush, rather than buffing it on , you should apply it using downward strokes. Today, I have it on. One side with the brush, the other with a beauty blender. For me , the beauty blender makes it more of a sheer coverage, with the brush, a bit heavier coverage. I will see how it wears as the day goes on.
I serious love your video reviews. I refer you or refer to your videos ALL the time at work. I have watched quite a few others and still end up referring back to you. Thank you for your hard work. I am a skin therapist at Ulta in Florida and your videos really help me to refer cosmetics and skincare.
I agree with you, Denise! When I'm out looking at makeup and someone asks me a question, I always refer them to Angie's RUclips channel. I wish someone had told me! And I wish she had business type cards I could just give to people...
I am always referring Angie too LOL!! I have friends or people that are wanting to change their skin care or get a review on something and I always say, YOU HAVE to go to You Tube........! ha!
I'm 43 with oily skin and I've been playing around with this foundation for 2 weeks. I use a primer and a setting powder with it. I don't have any issues blending it. I use an It Cosmetics brush (similar to the Sigma F80). I use stippling motions to spread it and then buff it in. It is one of the better foundations I've used as far as oily skin, but the color is definitely an issue. I've tried 3 shades and some definitely have an orange tone. Some days I think it shows texture, but this is why I'm playing around with primer and powder because some days it looks great. I've gotten compliments while wearing it so I continue to try it with products I have on hand to see what works best.
Thank you for this review! The Sephora sales staff really tried to sell me on this product today, but luckily I had seen this video. You are my beauty hero!
I haven't a clue how old you actually are, but if you are over 50, you cannot tell! Your skin is unreal and I find your tips and videos so helpful for my almost 30 year old skin. 💕
You have had a big impact on me since I found your channel. I feel at almost 59 I've got a lot to disguise that wasn't there even 5 years ago. I've learned about products and techniques from you. Thank you. My biggest compliment this week was, "What great skin you have, you don't need much makeup." Hah! She didn't have a clue, but because your such a good instructor she didn't know how much was there. Now I've need to get it on faster.
I agree, the color is not for you. On my screen it looks too orange on you. Have you ever tried Revlon Youth Fix, it is supposed to fill in lines. Off topic, I solved my problem with the Australian Gold tinted sunscreen color. I am mixing it with the Australian Gold non tinted version, color comes out perfect for me. With a touch of Aragon oil underneath, the sheen is perfect too. thanks Angie, I have been looking for my HG sunscreen and would not have found it without you.
Eva C - I would love to try the Australian Gold...but it is NOT available in Australia!! If anyone finds an online site that ships it to Aust, let me know 💋
I cannot thank you enough for your channel, I am a faithful viewer and I am wife Holly not William! Anyway, I have learned more from your videos than I have in the last 10 years. While I am a bit (ha) older at 61, I feel the products that I now use because of your channel my skin is in better shape than it was at 50. You fill a void so needed and appreciated, Thank you!
Best reviewer I have ever seen on RUclips - you do such a public service for us all. Thank you, Angie! And the new Hourglass lipstick IS amazing, so comfortable on the lips! I like it even better than the Bite beauty lipstick formula.
FYI....for those of you with dry skin, I have very dry combo skin and love it! With a little tweaking, this foundation is perfect. First off I mix 1-2 drops of Pixie rose oil with this for more hydration. I used 2 pumps of foundation. I also needed to use a fluffy brush from It Cosmetics that worked fine, but I first put on with my fingers, then quickly before it sets use the brush. In places where it looked uneven, I used Nars creamy radiant concealer which pairs really well with this foundation. I use the concealer under my eyes as well and can't be without it! I agree with you about the brush that supposedly goes with it, it is horrible.
I bought that Bare Minerals liquid foundation that had the brush with the well in it. It was terrible! It had a weird plasticy consistency. This looks like an improvement, but not so sure it's a big improvement! Thanks for the review!
Very true, I have a oily to combination skin and I do love the matte finish of the Barepro - I also love that I only need a drop to get full coverage and that it contains an spf of 20! In fact, this is my new favorite foundation -even though I'm over 40 lol! 😂😘
Thank you once again, Angie!! I'm so glad you reviewed this foundation. I've been looking at it wondering what it was like and saw this evening that you posted your review. I've always had dry, sensitive skin, went through early menopause and still have dry, sensitive skin and I'm still in my 40's. We may have opposite skin types but I definitely live by your reviews! My skincare routine is all in thanks to you! 😘♥️ Keep up the great work, I enjoy your videos and always look forward to them!
Hi Angie, I feel u about this foundation it's a love/hate but once u find the right color which took me 5 times and use the brush correctly the finish is beautiful and of course stays on well. At first I didn't like it wrong color and the way it went on then the lady at ulta said to use the primetime primer and then with the brush pat it on it's meant to be like your fingers patting it on or a sponge she said not to buff or brush it on and it works perfectly and now I love it! I'm your age and it hasn't settled in any fine lines or pores looks smooth.
I ordered this a couple weeks ago and tried it out once last week and it was fine, I wasn't overly impressed and I also thought it oxidized. I will say though that by the time I had applied all my makeup I had a big red spot that came up after I applied the foundation. I'm extremely acne prone so it really didn't surprise me, but I've been scared to try it again.
I LOVE YOUR LINK TO THE FOUNDATION LIST!!! this is something I put in for !!! Thanks so much b/c this way we can keep track of all of your takes.....LOVE IT.
IMO, U set the bar for other makeup videos with your effective use of so many links....from your top to what is used in the video to the total foundation list I longed for.....and I love how u put the review links next to ea in the foundation list. Altho I like bottom line beginnings, I do go back and review the entire video of the ones I'm interested in to get full research. You are so thorough, I guess what I would do......... : ) THANKS.
Hi Angie, Since I have been watching your videos about skin care, makeup and hair I have been looking younger and younger! I truly appreciate you taking the time to do all the research for us! I recommend you all the time :)
I second (and third) the request for the YSL All Hours Foundation review! I would love to see your review on it as I have heard nothing but good things about it and your reviews I find are the most thorough and honest - Thanks Angie!
I'm almost 47, still super oily and this foundation consistently wears off around my nose and forehead. Not a good look when the rest of your face is full coverage. Ended up returning because I really don't like the heavier look on my skin. Love your reviews Angie!
I just tried elf foundation and omg it's awesome for my dry 54 year old skin, it's a water base so use proper primer. Stayed beautiful all day and I live in MS on the Gulf of Mexico so you sweat ha.
As far as applying this foundation goes, I've had good results but putting a dot of foundation on one part of my face, blending that with a beauty blender, then moving on to another part of my face. I do that rather than sitting it all over my face a22nd then blending. That way I don't have to worry that it will dry before I can blend it, and I get an even application. I had actually started using that method with my estee lauder double wear, but it works well with the bare pro too.
Hi Angie, I am one of your subscribers all the way from the UK. I love all your reviews, especially the foundations ones, they are great and so thorough. Thank you!
Thanks so much for reviewing the new bare minerals! I watch so many beauty gurus and you're the one I trust the most. Btw, loving the Timeless skincare products that you recommend. I've had several people notice how much smoother and younger my skin looks! I'm a fan!! 😘
Hi Angie. So glad I got to see your video on this. I was ready to buy but I think I will pass now. I love the Chanel aqua and it doesn't seem like this foundation will be good for me especially because I have dry skin. Your reviews are always so thorough and very organized!
I'm so glad I watched this. I really appreciate your careful and in-depth review. I am always on the search for a new holy grail foundation for my dry skin, and I see this is definitely not for me, but I will check your list. (I currently like Lancome teint idole the best) Your other make-up also looks really lovely in this video, you really don't look anywhere near over 50...and oooh, that Hourglass lipstick is so pretty. Have a great day!
I found that for me, to blend this one the best, I put it on with my fingers first and smoothed the edges with a brush for this foundation to give me better results.
Aww, you sat uncomfortably in your hot car long enough to produce sweat in order to properly test the foundation for us - true dedication! I appreciate you! Thank you!! XO's
Aww Fridays are the best Angie!! Just marked the Bare Minerals BarePro off my list. Thank you so much for the thorough review!! My purchase from today's video is the Hourglass Confession Lipstick!!! Love the sunglasses on you!! Have a great weekend and thank you for all you do!!XOXO Becky
Thank you so much for this video as this foundation launched here in the UK last week. I was getting quite excited about it as I do like their Bare Pro Serum which I use over the bare pro cream foundation. Yes that is expensive but I am normal to dry sensitive skin with discolouration. That combination works well for me, I finish with the mineral veil and it lasts pretty well. I don't use primer as I wouldn't get the skincare benefits. It lasts well and gets better as the day goes on and my skin is happy with it. I am disappointed that you couldn't get a good skintone match for your perfectly normal skintone. I am cooler toned and fair and I generally find the shades work for me. I am currently trying out an Essence full coverage foundation that is crazily long lasting and costs £3.80! The shade selection is incredibly limited but its a good makeup brand for cool fair skinned complexions. My winter foundation is Boots No 7 Lift and Luminate. In the UK Boots stores they computer match your skin tone and use the same shade names across their foundation ranges too. I'm not sure if this service exists in the States. It is £13.50 and worth a review. Lastly, could you recommend a cream or liquid blush that lasts? They just disappear into my skin and its so annoying as I like the fresh natural finish. I love your foundation Friday reviews so much, thank you for all you do x
Thanks for sharing your faves! Try the NARS liquid blush, it's super pigmented so you just need a tiny amount and it lasts all day. I also like the elf cream blush!
Angie, I'm a big fan but I have to say. I think many of the issues you had with this product are caused by the fact that the color you used was so far off from your actual skin tone.
I absolutely love this foundation it is my favorite. I dont feel you used the right shade and a little goes a long way I dont even need primer with it and it improves the quality of skin too
Love watching all your videos! I'm currently using Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation & has worked very well for me. I'm going to try the Chanel foundation that is your fave & see how it compares. My complexion is fair & very difficult to find a good color match. So far, I've been most pleased with Estee Lauder. So happy I found you on here. I started watching your videos a few months ago and I'm totally hooked. You have saved me a lot of money and time! Have a beautiful day. Xo
Angie, Thank you for the extensive testing of products! You do such an awesome job and so appreciate the added links! Based on your recommendation, I will be trying the CHANEL Perfection. You are the BEST!
I tried the Double wear and it oxidized to a rust orange 3xs, 3 different shades and I am fairly light. This doesn't change on me and I have VERY oily skin, live where it is HOT(it was 103-111F when I tried this) so the humidity making me sweat didn't even touch it! I am older than you but have oilier skin, plus the dampness from the sweating didn't break it down at all. But I know people who are very oily who do well with this. I think because you have a little more combo skin may be why you had the difficulties you had., the formula just wasn't working for your skin. I was surprised to see how much it settled into areas! I didn't use the brush, I was afraid of it applying unevenly, so I just used a damp Beauty Blender and had good luck with it. For people with my situation of oily skin, a climate that is hard on keeping m/up fresh I think trying this might be for them. I noticed it did even make my skin look younger. BUT, it is a very polished skin makeup look so if someone wants a more casual, natural look without the full coverage, they might be able to get a lighter coverage with lightly applying a more sheer look blending well with a damp BB sponge. I know people that love it and some that don't and I guess it just has to work with your skin and products you use. Just my 2 cents, I thought you looked nice in that first color the first day! It looked fresh and brightened. so I was with you when you said, you thought it looked good! The color on this video was WAY too yellow, not the perfect match you get with your HG foundation.
I picked up a knock off Artis brush off of Amazon and it's amazing! All of my foundations that I wasn t wearing because they applied horribly looked great with the artis knock off ( I don't know what to call it )!
I got one from Amazon too and absolutely love it wonder if it's the same one! It was only $8 (I think) and the bristles are super soft love how it works with my IT foundation
I just got a bottle of the new Bare Minerals Made-2-Fit foundation. It is the one where you use an app to get a custom color match. I tried it and the Pro. I love the custom one so much better. I have drier skin and it is much more moisturizing and the color is spot on. It might be something for you to try.
Thank you Angie! I appreciate these honest video's. I am faithful to Clinique makeup and some Lancome'. But I am always looking for that "better" product that I might try. Watching your video's allows me to see your skin with the makeup and see if I might try that product. Thank you again!!
I was so excited about this foundation, bought it the first day it was at Ulta. Sadly I returned it. I get much better results from Covergirl's Clean Matte and Estee's Double Wear. I think I even prefer KatVonD's Lock It over the BM's. That lipstick is gorgeous though. This fall I am going to do a major lip cleanout, and that one will be on my list for replacements.
Great video Angie! I love your honest reviews! I can't seem to wear anything by Bare Minerals as it is too dry for my skin. Still looking for my Holy Grail foundation - very hard with really dry skin. :(
Thanks Angie ,was about to buy this foundation. I did not like this on you at all and I think everything looks good on you. I will wait for your review of YSL .
I rarely ever found anything from Bare Minerals that I liked. Thank you for reviewing it for us. Angie, have you tried the CoverGirl Vitalist Healthy Elixir Foundation yet? If you consider trying it please note it does oxidize a little so consider that when choosing a color. I use the CHANEL Perfection Lumiere Velvet in 12 Rose Beige, on special makeup days. My everyday foundation is the CoverGirl Vitalist Healthy Elixir in 705 Ivory (lightest shade). I sometimes mix a small pump of the CoverGirl with a small drop of the CHANEL and it is lovely! I am curious to see how this drugstore foundation performs on your skin.
Wish we didn't have to wait for Fridays for these reviews! They are the best reviews EVER! I'm thinking a foundation Mon., foundation Tues., foundation Wed. Etc might be good :-)
I got colour matched a few days ago and given a sample. I love it. The shades you are using are not your colour and you need to apply the smallest amount in downward strokes, no buffing. Lasted all day and my sensitive skin loves it. Sorry but feel your review is unfair when the colour doesnt match your skin, wrong application technique used and you're using way too many other products with it.
I love your reviews! im 35 and my skin is very similar to yours so the close ups are very helpful! Im really struggling finding a good foundation that looks natural and doesnt accentuate texture.
Thank you for your review, I had the exact same issues you highlighted. Creasy, and cakey at the end of the day. From a distance its awesome, but who wants that? Highlighted fine lines and poors. Oh and I had it applied by a bare minerals pro rep. Looks great in picture but not close up and looks like you are definitely wearing makeup, like a mask of it.
You are so awsome that you really put these products to the test! Have you ever used the Monistat chafing cream as a foundation primer? It is really awsome. I used that as a primer before using the barepro and applied Bare pro with a foundation brush. It seemed really good..but I am confident the Barepro would be a nightmare without primer AND a brush or sponge.
Try to match the base of products. Ingredients are listed by concentration from highest to lowest so the first 2-3 ingredients will be the base. Most are water based, silicone based or water/silicone based. Water's easy to spot, it'll be listed as water or aqua. There are many more silicones but they mainly end in -cone, or -ane like dimethicone or cyclopentasiloxane. So water based will work with water based, silicone with silicone, and combo with combo.
I love their products.
I agree. I love this foundation and takes very little for me to achieve full coverage.
Omigosh :O who knew! Should we get it a snack too? A soda? Maybe some caviar?
Oh man this stuff went straight into every pore. I was so upset.
I love this foundation.I am 46 have dry skin and I use this with a damp RT sponge,I pounce it lightly and quickly then wait a couple of minutes and apply more where I need it. I have that exact color in the Hourglass lipstick and it's the best lipstick formula and shade ever! I'm totally in love with it ❤
Got it, hated it, sent it back! Life is too short for bad foundation! Wish I had waited for your review! Hugs & have a great weekend! 💜
Wow, jaundice city! You're so beautiful, this shade is way too yellow! I love what you did with the swatches, so smart!
Most comprehensive review I've ever seen on foundation . Thank you !

You are the BEST...and I Love your sun-glasses...so classy!
Hey Angie!! I'm 37 and I so enjoy your foundation fridays. Your comments are so funny. You should do the new Milk foundation next!!!!
I’m 39 and I love watching your reviews! I love your voice too!!!

YSL All hours new foundation. My HG. Where. Has. This. Been?! It's everything I've ever wanted and it's just amazing.
So glad you did this video, I am combination and don't think this would work for me, have a great weekend Angie!!!
I’m 29 and love your channel, videos, and advice for both myself and my mom!

There is not one RUclipsr that does foundation reviews better than you!
That lipstick looks so beautiful! I wonder how much the refills are. I never thought there would be lipstick refills!
Thank you for being our guinea pig and trying all kinds of foundations!
I LOVE YOUR LINK TO THE FOUNDATION LIST!!! this is something I put in for !!! Thanks so much b/c this way we can keep track of all of your takes.....LOVE IT.
It was a great idea! Thanks for suggesting it!!
: ) THANKS.
your reviews are so crazy thorough, you bravely tells us the real deal, THANK YOU for saving me time & money !!!
Angie's obstacle course for foundations...another great review. I will pass on this one! The lipstick and sunglasses are amazing! Take care:)
Thanks for the honest review! Nice to see what the foundation looks like outdoors, too. Not many RUclipsrs will film in natural light!
I'm so grateful you do this for us thanks so much! I really get a kick out of the videos
I use Elf. It is such good quality and it's affordable!
The return of the easy bake oven test...YOU ROCK! ; ) Love the new lippie! Woo hoo! How "chickie wow wow" is that package?
Wow! It seems like just a few months ago you hit 200,000 subscribers. I just noticed you're now over 230,000! I can see why. Your channel is great!
Now that's dedication Angie! Sweating it up in the car! #lol Loving the lipstick! Thank you for all the hard work you put into your reviews! xo, Kelly
I agree 100%
Yeah, I think you could definitely pass on this one...
Thank you Angie! Your Foundation Fridays ROCK! Smiles, Stella
That's what I do too. If Angi doesnt like it, no sense trying it.
Angie, I watch so many You Tubers and you are my favorite! I always look forward to your videos and really appreciate all your hard work.
Thanks for taking one for the team and I appreciate how detailed you are.💗
Thank you so much for this video as this foundation launched here in the UK last week.
Lisa Remo I bought a knock off set on ebay and they're amazing! I can only imagine how the real ones perform.
I'm reluctant to buy one because the bristles look so dense and I'm sure it's a bitch to clean and wash them.
monymony68 Yeah, they kind of are, but not terribly hard. Just a little extra effort and dry time.
Hi. Which one did you get?
I got one from Amazon too and absolutely love it wonder if it's the same one! It was only $8 (I think) and the bristles are super soft love how it works with my IT foundation
I just got a bottle of the new Bare Minerals Made-2-Fit foundation. It is the one where you use an app to get a custom color match. I tried it and the Pro. I love the custom one so much better. I have drier skin and it is much more moisturizing and the color is spot on. It might be something for you to try.
I really love all your reviews your my favorite beauty advisor on RUclips thanks dl much for your commitment and effort ...
Who after fifty needs 24hr wear?! 😳 Thx, Angie, allllways look forward to Tuesday and Friday's!!! xo's
The CoverGirl Vitalist Healthy Elixir Foundation is my absolute favorite :)
Your videos are nothing short of amazing!
Thank you! :D
HI Angie, I really never been a big fan of bare minerals!! The powder always made my face itch!!
Wish we didn't have to wait for Fridays for these reviews! They are the best reviews EVER! I'm thinking a foundation Mon., foundation Tues., foundation Wed. Etc might be good :-)
Oooh, I love that lipstick too and refillable!
Great review... I use 1 pump & I tend to like it
That was a thorough review. Probably not for my dry skin. Thanks for the review!
I love your reviews! im 35 and my skin is very similar to yours so the close ups are very helpful! Im really struggling finding a good foundation that looks natural and doesnt accentuate texture.
Thanks Angie for this video, and I just want to say even with this no go foundation..."you still look Gorgeous"!!! xo
Thanks for the 'Review' Angie.
Really love your Sunglasses. 🎈
Wow, disappointing for an expensive foundation. Thank you for this video. I'll keep looking for the perfect foundation for mature skin.
Perfect timing for this video. I'm on the hunt for a new foundation. You just saved me some money.
You're so thorough! I love and appreciate your reviews (especially foundation) so much! Thanks for such a wonderful review!
Thank you Angie! I was very curious about this foundation and you answered all my questions! Your so brave! Love your videos!
Very informative, Thank you ! Angie. I also love the sunglasses, they look comfy without the nose bar .
Thanks for the honest reviews! Tell me what to do about pilling. Certain products do that regardless. What can we do or look for?
Try to match the base of products. Ingredients are listed by concentration from highest to lowest so the first 2-3 ingredients will be the base. Most are water based, silicone based or water/silicone based. Water's easy to spot, it'll be listed as water or aqua. There are many more silicones but they mainly end in -cone, or -ane like dimethicone or cyclopentasiloxane. So water based will work with water based, silicone with silicone, and combo with combo.
